Why did he receive special treatment? "The only really bad part is that I couldn't go to the bathroom" other than 3X/day. Others were denied those privileges. What about hearing young men being tortured, as he said. That was not a "really bad" thing? What is the real story?

Educated guess. Exchange "material" when needed. Every country in the world knows that the USA will go far to secure lost citizens. So it might come in handy at some point. And you don't want to damage your goods before you trade it. Foreigners normally get a better treatment abroad, because they have a high value.

The CIA doesn't want agents who are going to attract attention.
But some people who don't stand out from the crowd are just regular people

It's a complex situation. While some call them rebels, many Syrians see them as heroes fighting for their freedom. They're returning home, hoping for a chance at peace, but it seems Israel and the US are taking advantage of this fragile situation to attack Syria and take their land.

Why this CRUX is always showing Syrian in prison, rather than what was really happened about the Rebels supported by US and Israel. prisoners are everywhere in every Country and that's is common.

Looks like he has that "captive acquiescence" after being held for so long. He appears to appreciate what his captors did, this only happens when a person has been broken and eventually begins agreeing with and believing his captors/torturer's. Note he never looks at the cameras or at the people talking to him, only quick glances.

Yeah, basically someone alone who walks on foot on a spiritual journey, to Biblical places .... the Bible says "Road to Damascus" literally so he decided to do it even though in middle of Civil War and ..... yeah. Not the smartest thing. He might have thought he could convert people to Christianity too
