This song is an inspirational anthem that gives the audience a great feeling of hope when listening to it. The song represents a local yet is a universal story of freedom from mental slavery.
It is a ‘protest’ song that manages to embrace and welcome all listeners to walk with Uncle Archie and Mau Power on the road to unity. A modern sound that resonates with an ancient soul, its inspirational lyrics create a want for a better future and a belief that it can and will be obtained.
Shot on location in Melbourne, the video features Archie Roach, Albert David, Mau Power & some special cameos.

I don't think this generation will ever again hear a voice as unique and beautiful as Archie Roachs. I fence sit on the whole indigenous debate, and appreciate a wide range of music. I was privileged enough to see Archie in concert a while back and he absolutely blew me away (fancy that.. a metal head at heart.. on his feet giving Archie a standing ovation for one of the best live performances I have ever seen).
Archie isn't a singer, he's a storyteller, and the raw emotion he conveys telling those stories has to be experienced to be believed.
Regardless of your views, a true credit to the music industry and an Australian icon.
If you ever get the chance to see Archie live, drop everything and treat yourself... you won't regret it.

This is just an amazing and so stirring anthem. It is fitting, and uplifting for any and every nationality, minority and individual who is struggling and feeling there is a better model. Really resonates to the very depth of one's heart. I can't help replaying it over and over. ...I've always been a huge fan of Archie Roach but here especially is his most emotional and uplifting voice. ♡
For someone whom is on a mission to find the link to my own Aboriginal Heritage (despite the fact I know it in my heart and soul) This absolutely reduced me to tears!!! My poor partner came in to find me in heaving sobs. I tried explaining to him that it was the collective energy of what you've all been through, your energy, your spirit, all of it, smashing me like a tidal wave of emotion. I simply cannot thank you enough and will spend eternity thanking you for such a blessing as this. I too, will be spreading this far and wide as much and often as I can. Me too Bonnie, I too am on a mission to find more about my grandfather, great grandfather and grandmother. They have all passed so it's so hard to find anything, especially when my mum didn't know she had an Aboriginal heritage until the past year or so :'(
Every time I hear this on CAAMA I turn it up. It gives me so much a feeling of empowerment. But it also brings up emotions. We have survived also makes me sad for those who have died. My Aboriginal sister as well through Suicide. The pain of a life and history of systemic racist abuse is still imprinted in our lives. Trying to be proud of being Aboriginal in a society that calls you out as scum for being black. The slavery is in our minds. The strength in our spirit. We must never stand for negative rhetoric on our First Nation people. Thanks for keeping our flags high your music is a way forward for us of all race in Australia.

You deserve an award for this, I was lucky enough to be brought up within TCMF, my dad being a founder of it who was inducted into the role of renown, pedal steel guitarist Stormin Norman Bodkin, sadly who passed in 1999, I've been raising within country music, but I think that the style of music that you have made here bringing Archie Roach Into it, should be incorporated within the country music festival. You all deserve recognition. I was crawling around on the floor at The workmans club why my dad played on stage the back then the festival was named the singer-songwriters country music Jamboree.
