Copy-pasting this mini analysis from Foxtrot19's original video since this post showcases the combat strings much more prominently. I only learned of the connection between this level and Valley of the Dolls recently, but it really puts the two songs into perspective. While Valley's soundtrack comes across as dignified hatred at Amos Voll and those who would defend him, Mindjot's track is more of a horrible realisation. Those strings are just so full of despair. Where Valley is anger toward the source, Mindjot is a feeling of societal disappointment; people work here, knowing full well what they're helping and doing nothing to stop it. Of course, there's also the layer of unavoidability that takes a bit of blame off these security guard's shoulders - some people just have no other options - but they knew full well what they were getting into if their trigger fingers are anything to go by. Valley of the Dolls is striking out at an inhuman evil. Mindjot is a resignation and sad acceptance that this evil will always exist - even being supported in the name of self-preservation.
