Texas has 3 types. The two you mentioned, and Alvin D! I'd love to fish with that guy!
I've fished with Alvin, and he is one of the best! Just plain old Fun, Fun Fun!
And John shank, who killed his own mom but still gets to be a guide
Thanks!
@@richardruesenberg2540 Thanks for the kind words!
@@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing and thanks for putting up with the music questions in the q&a videos!
You left out the fact that your Tennessee guide probably has North Carolina tags on his Tacoma/4Runner and does laps over spawning redds all fall/early winter.
Its crazy the guides on the Holston and Watauga just fish redds all day. I was told "its just business" lmao.
As a guide, you nailed it! But I'm surprised that you didn't mention North Carolina, specifically the Davidson River guides from DRO... What a bunch of arrogant snobs!
He mentioned North Carolina guides… they are a big part of the traffic jam he referenced on the south holston
Holy shit ...you hit the montana clueless guides spot on. Keep hammering them like they hammer the Madison river bro!!!
One more thing about PA guides. They all claim to be booked solid. If that's true, it's probably because they only have 2 weeks of vacation from thier other job!
You missed Utah; there will be a hatch of monumental proportions and they’ll still have clients with a bobber and bounce rig.
Texan here, spot on about the 2 types you hit. The best fly fishing in the state is in central Texas for native bass. Check it out
I love how he showed a picture of the Tetons for Montana lol
Meh, they’re close enough to the Madison drainage that I’ll allow it.
I just can’t believe he skipped Idaho! We got circled
@@Cold_whispers the Madison isn’t Montana, that’s a tourist pit
PNW: No trip is complete without an extended sermon on tribal netting, the evils of hatchery fish, and you should have seen how it used to be...
As a fly fisherman from PA i find it’s very funny
You definitely missed the NY Salmon River guides. A real bunch of trips out and back again. Another guide video is in order.
Was hoping to hear some digs on Michigan guides/Michigan fishing culture. Its a different world up there.
Those Montana mountains sure is purdy
😂
For some reason I feel thankful my state wasn't mentioned. Rough....but I'm still staying huge!
There are guides outside Montana? Last time I went through Ennis, I'm pretty sure every guide in North America was floating the Madison.
Nah. They're all in Craig.
Picture of the Big Horn's drive in pool, but reference is the Madison river...but your point about MT guides still stands.
Was waiting for the Bryan Glass heat 🔥😂
This comment 😂
I don’t know all the back stories but I’ve fished with him twice and was nothing but professional
In usa thé guide IS a boat for fishing when thé Access are prohibed or thé dimensions of thé river is too biggest
If you are a lambda most french Fisher, you fish tones of fish.
Thé biomass IS Amazing in thé major of rivers and streams
You really don't need a guide to catch salmon in Alaska. Catching salmon there is incredibly easy. You need the guide to get you to remote water and keep the bears off your six. I've seen guides with clients on public water in AZ, WY and CO. Gimme a break!
Nah man, Pavati boats are a joke. Most guides run Willie or Clack.
Don't forget the ones that get bent out of shape when a regular Joe is catching big fish where their clients can see it happening and all they're catching is little dinger fish!
If Curtis Flemming had a guide, he'd be speaking in slow motion
I've only had one flyfishing guide and it was AMAZING!! Wyoming Adventures out of Thermopolis, WY gave me so much of an education that it was fantastic!! And no cowboy hats were worn. Oh, and I caught trout!!!
Nice , and you have just scratched the surface. I just got back from an awesome trip to the keys for tarpon and before we started I asked the guide what was the water temperature going to be ,what phase was the moon in . What was the tide Hi , low , slack , what the atmospheric pressure was hi pressure, low pressure , if we had to wear skiff slippers so we wouldn’t mar the boat finish or scare the fish . He said he’d promise not to use any of those reasons if we didn’t catch a tarpon and that he had way better one then those anyway . I liked him right away. And guess what , he wasn’t from Florida . Thanks for sharing and stay Hugh
That was entertaining. Do a part two and whack a few more states and species….
Been fishing in Alaska for years never fished for salmon. Trout and grayling only.
PA folks only say wuter if they’re from the Delaware valley ❤ makes me miss home
Thanks for the endorsement 😂
Don't forget us bumper boat NY guides.
if you don't fish conventional, you are probably inhibiting your development as a fly angler.... There, I said it.
Maybe, but if I’m hiring a guide to go fly fishing the spinning rod is not an option.
@@HugeFlyFisherman That's fair. I think the big reason that it's more common for saltwater guides to have spinning gear is due to the higher skill floor needed for saltwater sight fishing. A trout guide can catch fish as long as his client can get a bobber and flies off the edge of the boat. An islamorada bonefish guide? not so much.
We all know how much people like to lie about their experience level. Fly-fishing for 30 years? More like fly-fished once thirty years ago 🤣
REAL STEELHEAD!!!
We like weed and zyns in Canada too😅
Montana guides kick ass!
What. No utah “Mormon guide” that skips the coffee for his energy drink ,,, come on we r low hanging fruit Ben. 😂 good stuff
lol dude, the amount of shit talking you do is funny because I’m pretty sure you’re sarcastic, but also can’t tell. It’s a shtick and it’s pretty funny.
gotta do PNW Spring Chinook guy
Hey I’m guide from NC. That’s not right, could give people a complex or something. And please don’t listen to me talk. If you think Tennessee is bad you would paddle faster here.
You left out Charleston SC guides which are home grown and don’t go anywhere else because Charleston is year round the best place in the World!!!! Goat Island family here…. Only Red Drum tailing is what we live for and is all we need 🍻
Great video - guides in the Northeast please? I really liked one of your other videos where you called Catskill fisherman dry fly dorks
The musky bit was hillarious 😂😂😂
😂So funny! Especially, PNW Steelheaders (me). I never catch fish and I have a million excuses! I just can't stop...I love it...I need psychotherapy.
Thanks for the laughs.
-Korey
You and me both! Hope you catch one this decade! Hope I do too!
At least we have good rain gear
Curious why no love given to Idaho (and optionally Oregon or Washington); maybe you haven't fished here? It's okay, we don't have any trout here anyway. ☮
Most South Carolina saltwater guides are probably just a transplants from the tri-state area that fish wherever he sees locals in a Jon boat catching fish….couple local boys left though.
😂 some of this Guad guides in Texas are big time Karens over stocked trout! If they see anything that might look like a stringer your guaranteed a game warden will be on his way.
Alaska is the greatest place on earth, and not because of the salmon. Completely agree about the Guadalupe.
I love the stereotype videos. 🤣
The only true wisdom is knowing you know nothing.
-Socrates
I'm not a guide, but 100% felt the Musky by the log so look for him every time thing. They are evil fish. Haha!
Two words " Weed and Zyn"! LMAO. Nailed the Montana Guide.
Kindergarten Diploma - holy hell that was funny… 😂
I thought guides were the little loops the line goes through on the rod, and tipping your guide was about keeping the tip top guide in the water while retreiving. Sorry, joke got a little stretched.
How about the Provo River guides?......lol
What about the carp and drum fly fishing guides?!
Wanna bet about locals complaining about tourist… go to Pulaski.
Thank god im not a fly fishing guide ….
I don’t claim streamer invention. Good vid sir!
keep calling us Florida folks out! we need it..
The Guadalupe comments gave me good chuckle
Iowa: blank slide, crickets
Funny stuff, well done. But aren’t you originally from the DMV?
Just the M part, and on the other side of the bay.
San Juan River guides are all of the above
No Michigan ?!
Props to putting my pic of Glass on here. Made my week 😂😂
🫡
Its funny because its true....
I love Bryan Glass hate
Dog gone huge waste of time.
👊🏼👍🏼🤙🏼
That was a master class, well done.
This was very funny
😂
I'll be here in my home state bud.. ever tried to catch speckled sea trout?
Nailed the lower unit destruction 😂
Brian Glass big mad 😂
Beers with Ben?
Florida! Dead on…
My first time to Alaska was spot-on to your comments - went for the fly fishing, enjoyed the scenery and bear track more.
We did alaska for my dad's 70th, but made sure to only do 2 days of salmon fishing, the other 2 days of guiding were for Dolly's in the upper tributaries and for super chunky rainbows in the main river. It was really nice to actually do some fly fishing instead of just salmon fishing up there.
If I go to Alaska it will be for Rainbow, Dolly's and Pike.
BURP...nice job.
Nice latte.
I'm from SE PA and yes we do say wuder! 😅
But they don’t in Picksburgh
🤣🤣🤣love it☕️☕️
Missed out on Michigan.
Missed out on the end of the video.
Michigan guides are like: “This video is so hilarious-no need to do a part 2!”
Your Iowa comment at the end made me wonder- is Nebraska the only state without a fly fishing guide? A quick google search turned up none.
Wooo! New vid!
Actually, in the PNW the boat will more than likely be a Clackacraft and so what if I have $1000.00 in rain gear... not kidding, really, I have $1k in rain gear. :D
I think the boat comment was more a stab at how everyone has a high sided boat.
You left out New England we do have guides and the trout fishing is great.
Maybe in Pittsburg and Rangeley...
