My native island was just struck my two Category 5 Hurricanes. Even though I am stateside the devastation and desperation from friends, family, and what I've seen on Facebook and Instagram is heart-wrenching. I lived through Hurricane Hugo when I was 9 and that left our island completely destroyed. We were homeless, hungry... and now almost 30 years later to see that this is happening again...I was saddened and fearful for my family, friends and people of the Virgin Islands. My native island was just struck my two Category 5 Hurricanes. Even though I am stateside the devastation and desperation from friends, family, and what I've seen on Facebook and Instagram is heart-wrenching. I lived through Hurricane Hugo when I was 9 and that left our island completely destroyed. We were homeless, hungry... and now almost 30 years later to see that this is happening again...I was saddened and fearful for my family, friends and people of the Virgin Islands. I have been praying and praying, but I needed something to boost my morale and remind me of God's promises. This song reminds me of my faith and to keep focused on God.
