It's crazy how well propaganda works in America. It takes one warped take, put on RUclips, to convince thousands of impartial people to believe in the same warped take. Your perspective might as well have come straight from the White House. Please look at it more objectively, you don't understand what you're supporting...
I'm all for limitless comedy, and I think you're hilarious. But most of this isn't comedy, it's you sharing your actual perspective. They say there's truth in all comedy, but when the truth exceeds the humour, it's not comedy. Truth being your tainted viewpoint, not the reality of the situation.
its not complicated, Israel wants Palestinians to not exist and they are slowly achieving that goal. All the "complicated, nuanced, intricate" takes are put into the zeitgeist to convolute the situation, confuse people, and obscure reality. Even if it were infinitely intricate, there is no amount of history that justifies the genocide of Palestinians. Did you know, by UN's own figures, in the decades of this conflict, Israel has killed Palestinians at a ratio of about 48:1?
And it IS an occupation, Yannis is just straight up wrong about that. They control the borders of a 28 square kilometre area. That is tiny, they may as well be in the centre of Gaza. They control the food, water, electricity, and travel of Palestinians in Gaza, and regularly go in to "mow the lawn", which is their way of saying "kill Palestinians indiscriminately", then the US media chalks it up as weeding out Hamas. That is effectively an occupation, a brutal one. Please look more into it, you can research everything I just said quite easily.

Sincerely this is a great episode, Yanni. It's nice to hear a real discussion about this conflict that doesn't just pick a side and ignore the realities of history, humanity, and pragmatism. Keep doing what you are doing. This is what builds a great podcast into a source of profound legitimacy in the cultural conversation. The narcissists of today will demand punishment of Americans who use their right to exercise free speech and talk about a polarizing conflict with nuance. When the facts that don't fit their narrative "offend" them and embolden them to try and silence people who are doing what you are doing, it usurps our fundamental right to free speech (and it's derivative right to the freedom to hear free speech). Thank you for digging so deep to voice the realities that tribalism tries to silence.

I think the meaning of 'From the river to the sea' probably had an original meaning, based on the intent of the phrase's first users, but it was likely then muddied by its subsequent users. That's happened for decades, or however long the phrase has been around for. So, while its use probably isn't wise for peaceful discourse, due to how 'dirty' it's become, I think you should give the benefit of the doubt to people who say they interpret it differently than we might. I highly doubt Rashida Tlaib is really happy about the meaningless slaughter of anybody, including Jewish people. She's still young and dumb. These days, there are a lot of young'n'dumb people in Congress. She happens to be of Palestinian descent. Go Yanni go!
