Im not sure if the time indicator is a good way to measure power. Because then arm length comes into play how far each player reaches back like (presnell, heimburg, wysocki, mcbeth) vs (mcmahon, lizotte, gibson, barella) I went and did the same measurement on hole 4 jonesboro 2020 with presnell and mcmahon and they were equal while mcmahon has a significant power advantage. I think you might be able to do rough speed measurements for same video coverage, where the angles are roughly equal. Take the measurement of the disc they are throwing then frame by frame see how much distance it travels. Either way it wont be the most accurate, but that was a really good idea. Keep up the great work man
Thanks for the support! We think you're spot on, the more variables we could control for, the more applicable this data would be. While doing the analysis, we also noticed that anhyzers were often released faster than hyzers, at least for this hole. If only we could get this footage in a higher frame rate...
I think it doesn’t matter. I recorded myself and from the top of my reachback it took 0,15 seconds to let it go if i counted right. And i can throw like 118-125m with a fd
That’s understandable - there’s a lot of variables at play here, which is why we chose to use all players from the same card for this comparison. Conditions, camera angle, and maybe most importantly frame rate are going to impact these numbers. This edit was done at 24 fps, while getting the footage in a higher frame rate (120+ fps) could show a lot more in terms of timing.
@@rotadiscgolf i could see my disc all the time and i just counted ms. I have recorded myself multiple times & i’m between 0.14-0.17 so i guess that’s more reliable then only one number. I recorded in 30 fps
Is the high pitch static in every one of your videos some elaborate joke to the younger audience of your channel? Seriously, I'd watch your videos more if It wasn't for the horrible noise.
It’s his gurthieness.
You sound so much like Paul McBeth 😂
2:14 LMAO Garret is the only player who takes time greeting the camera men during his throws 😆
Look at how far back his left shoulder is by the time the disc is released ..
great video! keep up the good work!
Appreciate it 👊
Paul McBeth is this your secret channel 😂
Is this Paul Mcbeth narrating ?
Another great video!
Thanks Rick!

Hey Salommy, thanks for watching. We're looking into this - if there's a critical mass that feels the same we'll consider other options.
