Crazy, i kept reading the comments and many people are complaining that the song is about a toxic relationship. What its true meaning is that the couple ended up marrying, the girl singing met the guy and she had a life in which she had guys wanting her, she over dressed and wanted to be the center of attention but meets a guy thats loves her but tells her that theres certain things he doesnt like about her and shes willing to change them because she loves him. Thats what marriage is or dating towards marriage, both sides change things in them to please each other and learn to understand each other. Its great song.

could be for sakuragi too since his initial motivation for playing ball was to get haruko to be his girlfriend and not actually for loving the game or dreaming winning a championship w/c is most of the characters in the shows motivation is. and that's including haruko who actually also loves the game and not just rukawa. spoiler: sakuragi ends up loving the game by the end of the manga so it all works out in the end. and he ends up having a dream of his own and not just a person without dreams like a punk that he started as.

This song choice is actually quite proper considering Okarun is doing exactly what the lyrics tell, which is changing his ways and trying new things to get his love interest to like him: training his strength, trying to crack jokes, learning to play soccer... but imo this song always had a cautionary tale about the risks of taking that too far...
