    Actually, Sleeping Beauty's cake wouldn't have stacked at all since it was raw. If you listen to Fawna, she asks "Are you supposed to put the candles on before or after you bake the cake?" So technically (with the help of suspending our disbelief) the topsy turvey cake was raw.

    We need a savory version! I cried when Johnny made a sweet rice pudding. First, it's not a "bowl of rice," it's congee, a traditional breakfast food. Yes, there is a sweet version of congee, but 1) it would never be topped with pork and eggs and 2) the Chinese version of "sweet" is adding things like red beans, sweet potatoes, fruit... Not dumping in sugar! And second, cooking it with milk when 90+% of Chinese people are lactose intolerant is just 🤦🏻‍♀️ If you wanted to honor the best Disney Princess, you could have made moon cakes or red bean bao. Western rice pudding is just so wrong 😭 Please redo this, Johnny!

    "How old is Sleeping Beauty?" I believe Sleeping Beauty, the Little Mermaid, and Rapunzel are the only Disney princesses whose ages are explicitly stated in their movies. Aurora's 16th birthday and Rapunzel's 18th birthday are, of course, plot points. Ariel: "I'm sixteen years old! I'm not a child!" Jasmine's birthday is a plot point too - "The law says you must be married to a prince by your next birthday [...] You've only got three more days!" - but the dialogue doesn't actually spell out which birthday it is. Likewise, Frozen talks about Elsa 'coming of age' for her coronation but doesn't specifically state her age in the movie.

    What brand of food coloring do you like? I am afraid to use food coloring because it usually tastes like chemicals! I love your videos. You are so entertaining and relatable!

      So fair. I use americolor or satin ice gel color. A few drops usually does the trick and doesn’t change the taste. The gel colors are super concentrated.

    His name is Chip because he has a chipped tooth. It’s a childhood nickname. It’d be kinda scary if part of his tooth had also become animated and was running around, but I think that’d be akin to clipped finger nails and strands of hair.

    Thanks to a comment by Jonny I’m currently addicted to Kid Nation…! As a middle aged British women it’s hilarious watching some of the most pretentious kids I’ve ever seen, and absolutely agree about some of it verging on child abuse when there’s 8 yr olds left there to cry! I don’t recall anything like that on tv here 😂

    I think you and I have a similar situation with jaded people in our lives that are so used to fabulous food that they’re overly critical 😂

    "Head me well, Before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday, she shall prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die!"
    And then, of course, the little fairy Merryweather does her best to change maleficent's spell. So Aurora will not die, but fall into a deep deep sleep, only true love's kiss will wake her.

    A tip for the candy apples is to pour hot water or boil your apples. Most apples from the store have a wax coating. Making the candy slip lower on the apple.

    I've grown up eating and making swedish Christmas rice pudding. Which once you cook the rice you pour the milk in and stir until you become one with the stove (45 minutes, milk evaporates and thickens). So learning there is a rice pudding where the milk take 15 minutes to evaporate and thicken is wild

    Did anyone else think the 'grey stuff' would have been pâté, because Beauty and the Beast originated in France? Although, I think the way pâté is made is super cruel to animals. So, Oreo's are probably better 🤷‍♀️ 😄 ✨️

    • @lacytaylor1501
      @lacytaylor1501 2 months ago +1

      Pate isn't cruel, it's just paste made of meat I believe. The food you're thinking of is Foie gras, which is likely what it is.

    • @venus22118
      @venus22118 2 months ago

      @lacytaylor1501 That's interesting. The worry about pâté, is about foie gras-style pâté. Which is a certain type of pâté. But because of this, foie gras production is banned in many countries (including the UK, Germany, Norway, parts of Australia, etc.). I learned something new by looking that up, so thanks 👍✨️

    I'm honestly offended that the disney employee doesn't know how old princess aurora is. So literally, the whole point of the movie is that on her sixteenth birthday she will prick her finger on a wheel.
    The whole buildup of the movie is to her sixteenth birthday!
