    Yes W220 do have Distronic(ACC).
    W220 is one of first cars come with ACC.
    Norev's engine bay is wrong Norev put 5.5 V12 biturbo
    W220 pre facelift is 5.8 V12 NA
    V12 biturbo is facelift W220
    V12 badge on side fender is correct.

    I prefer the one by Norev, as it looks more detailed outside than Otto.

    There is a difference between two models. The S 65 AMG Ottomobile resin model is a facelift W220 model whereas the Norev W220 is a prefacelift model.

    I'm the opposite of most S-class fans, I think the V220 was one of the best looking with V221 being my favorite while I think V140 was least attractive. I would choose the Norev, but the dealer version is non-AMG. They have the S55 and S600 in AMG with more aggressive side skirts, little lips on the front and rear bumper, and AMG wheels. It's a subtle difference, but makes it a little better looking. Although I do prefer the gray interior on the dealer version.

    Thanks for doing the comparison! W220 S-class has a special place in my heart but I don't want to go through the full experience of owning one of those, so I'm considering a model instead :D It's not apples to apples, but still very helpful and better than none at all.
    One bit if criticism if I may though... A little research comes a long way ;) W220 was the first production Merc to offer Distronic adaptive cruise control and I guess Norev being their official supplier wanted to highlight that, so they included that ugly radar cover. I wish they didn't but it has some significance and is a correct detail.
    Same goes with the V12 badges. They are actually there, on that horizontal piece of trim in front of the front door. Norev cut some corners and included it on its S55 too, but I see they've corrected it in later releases.
    On the flimsy windows - They are so flimsy because it's basically a camera film (cellulose nitrate). I've heard it's because of better light-transmitting qualities (i.e. transparency) of this material. It's probably also cheaper :D I personally prefer plastic windows, can't stand that the film ones are visibly bent when they reflect light. The blacked out sunroof on Otto is probably done to avoid adding another piece of film that could be easily damaged.
    I used to think Norev's got their grille wrong but I see this is actually right for the pre-facelifted model. The facelifted grille reaches all the way down to the bumper.
    S600 seems like a better option of you want to go for Norev. Their S55 sits too high, the bumper is too short and the wheels are a bit too crude and seem to be the same all around (the rear ones should have a deeper lip).

    Before watching your review, I think they are incomparable. One is metal, openable and looks original, the other is nylon, sealed and modified version that I really don't like. Let's see what the reality is. 😊
    Edit: I would sell my Gypsy if I had. Amazing review as always. 🌟

      What's not original on that S63 compared to the actual S63? I think Otto nailed it accuracy-wise.

    I just picked up that black Norev dealer edition I had to wait till after New Years to get it because it was coming from Germany and I bought it before Christmas. It was worth the wait. No bad for a mid budget diecast model. I'd rather have the Norev over the Ottomobile even though the Otto looks better but it's sealed. Yes, the front grill sensor was on the w220 as an option.

    It has been a while since we got an opening W220 in 1:18. The reason being that Maisto had the exclusive license for the W220 when it came out. I was going to get the silver one from Norev but there are a few things that make me hesitant. For one, the headlights are not correct because the car is a pre-facelift S600. They are supposed to be opaque not clear. But the biggest drawback is the engine. Why? It is incorrect. Since the model is a prefacelift W220 S600, The engine is supposed to be the naturally aspirated V12, not the twin-turbo. But other than that, it looks great.

    • @pdcichosz
      @pdcichosz Год назад

      The headlights ideally should be more opaque, but they are not clear, there's visible grooving on the covers... On both of them actually, which means Otto's incorrect (I'm guessing because they did the pre-facelift S55 first and couldn't bother with making a new part), because facelifted headlight covers should be completely clear.

    the ottomobile is inaccurate because they used the pre facelift grille in the front, it is a smaller grille compared to the facelift

    I personally can’t stand models that don’t open. It surprised me how flimsy and soft the windows were. But, the AMG does have a better look to it. Also I saw VIP on the badge of the Norev. Btw, nice ass shot if you catch my drift. Lol!!

    • @geriko1
      @geriko1 2 года назад

      It is not VIP, it is V12. If you look at the real car, it has the same badge on the both sides as the model. It was only on the S600 cars.

    • @Driver0378
      @Driver0378 2 года назад +1

      @@geriko1 Oh I know it’s V12, it just appears to be vip. Lol. Thanks to Doug DeMuro’s review of the real S600, V12 is on all 4 door sill plates too. A touch they could’ve added on the model. :)

    The paint on the Otto version is much nicer. Whenever you turned each model around, you can see the flawless paint job on the Otto whereas the Norev version wasn’t as glossy in certain light.
    However, I don’t like Otto’s windows being so flimsy.
    I got curious after you pointed out the camera/radar in the Norev’s front grille, so I looked online at S600 and it seems that Mercedes-Benz was using camera/radar in 2004, so Norev is accurate in that part.

    • @pdcichosz
      @pdcichosz Год назад

      Resin models usually come with a nicer paint, almost as if they were dipped in it. I guess it's not necessarily Norev's fault, rather a property of the material used for the body shell.
