She was too cute as a child, so spunky. What was most interested that they did with the gods was that they took away part of their essence, and to retrieve it to make them whole, you had to see their innermost thoughts they were ashamed of and it made them much more vulnerable. Most of all was Athena, who had her cold & calculating essence stolen. What was left was a child like Athena who is used to being the wisest of all, being reduced to a naïve child who is quite unsure of herself. It was real touching when you find yourself in-game hugging this poor child trying to reassure her of her self worth, and then realizing you're hugging the literal goddess of wisdom.
I loved this game to the core. Say what you will. The journey from a little girl to a Goddess with her own champion was really awsome. I just want to read this story in a book or write this as a story.
It was always strange why shes so close to Athena, then I realized cuz shes her elder sister. Also in most greek stories the Gods were real jerks, yet these guys kinda feel nice and likeable.
Athena, the goddess of wisdom. She turned a human girl into a spider just because the girl proved to be better than her at something, and then when a priestess had an illegitimate child, Athena sterilized the fields and paid to reverse it was for the king to catch her and then sell her into slavery. Where was the wisdom at the time?
People forget that these gods while having domains, need not be constrained by them 100% of the time. They were pretty much superpowered humans who acted like humans do. They weren't benevolent and kind no matter what. I bet having the same powers and going through a millennia, many people commenting here would have a couple of incidents.
Why does kid Athena have the voice of an adult? Did her vocal chords not change along with her body when transformed? Or did the devs just think it was funny having the voice of an adult come out of a child? Because while I see what they were going for, it completely ruins my immersion.
…I think you need to take a step back. We’re talking mythology, first and foremost, and the fact that it’s a video game with cartoonish aesthetics should make it perfectly clear that this isn’t to be taken too seriously.
