Wow... these lads really know how to lean on the "retro" vibe. The production value of this track is top notch. They must have a huge budget to draw on. What I found interesting was at the beginning with the "Spanish/Flamenco" type guitar work. It certainly had a Latin vibe to it at different times during the song which I find very pleasing. Great reaction..... Take care.....

Jimin wrote and produced every track except 1. Jimin retrained with a music teacher to improve his voice.

Actually, Jimin made this second album MUSE almost simultaneously as his first album FACE. Closer than this is the final track of MUSE. He was planning to release his album free for Army in Soundcloud, but Big Hit decided all members release them as albums for the first time. For MUSE he just did the filming for pre-release Smeraldo Garden Marching Band ft Loco (dropped on 28th Jun) and Who just before enlisting. Who was filmed in Hungary and Smeraldo in S Korea.
MUSE dropped on 19th July after almost 16 months of his first album FACE, so it's a gap compared to most K-pop comebacks..
He has already achieved western local awards like Billboard Hot 100 (Like Crazy, a Korean title track of FACE co written by Jimin, topped this chart making Jimin the first Korean soloist and second Asian to debut at the top after 60 years of Billboard history. First Asian was a Japanese singer who debuted at the top in 1963 and already made history in UK Big Top 40 coming in top 10 with Like Crazy). So don't worry aboot this English song compromising him as an artist. Most kpop groups make Japanese and Chinese albums too. He topped Billboard without any radio plays, which is very crucial in that chart. And no playlisting. So it was very historic that even Billboard was astounded and discussed it. The shares of Hybe skyrocketed after he got 1 in Billboard and even raised shares of other 3 big entertainment companies (YG, JYP, and SM).
Just yesterday, with the new title track, Who, Jimin made history in the UK by topping UK's largest chart Big Top 40 with just 1 version of the song and 2 days tracking. The Capitol Radio even mentioned it was an amazing achievement to top with just a 2-day tracking period. He became the first k soloist to do this after 12 years. Psy got it in 2012 with Gangnam Style. And BTS later with Butter. Just now, he also topped the Global Artist Ranking, becoming the most consumed artist and not just k artist, surpassing Taylor Swift.
His track Who also charted in Brazil making Jimin first Asian to chart in the difficult Brazilian chart. And Jimin is the first and only artist with 6 songs with iTunes #1 in 116 countries.
I think Jimin now just wants to experiment and improve more in his own words. His new album is different from his first. You are right he is more eclectic and experimental. He co-wrote in 6 out of 7 tracks and produced 2 in this new album. And he did choreography for Who. In first album too he contributed to composing, writing and choreography.
He really doesn't need an English song to get local Western awards now. In this secomd album MUSE all other tracks are in Korean so don't worry it's not like BTS English songs and Jungkook's Golden, which is all in English.
BTS were on track to get that Billboard record with Koean song, too, and really didn't need English songs because Army fandom power would have helped.
BTW Jimin TV debut performance of Who in Jimmy Fallon came out today. He sang live and he sings naturally. It is a gorgeous performance. He pre-recorded it before enlisting last December. He met Jimmy Fallon by chance in the studio in the US where he was recording Who and Jimmy is Jimin's super fan :)
Jimin hasn't promoted his album at all. He just posted once in Instagram story about his album and just came in Weverse yesterday to thank Army for support and say not to worry about him as he is doing well. He advised Army to drink water because its hot and not use too much fan and air-conditioning at night. He said because he is now a soldier, he can't use sns much.
He is assigned to the fire direction centre, the brain of artillery in the border, because he topped in his training (receiving commendation from his divisional commander, which gives him early promotion and 2 days extra holidays. We found out about it when Army asked his dad. Jimin doesn't say such things.) and he is good in maths and physics. A few months back, he completed a training in toughest S K military training centre and topped it too and became a special grade soldier. You should watch Jin's discharge ceremony in Bangtan TV where all members visit him.
Have you watched J Hope Street dance documentary? RM also came up with great indie album which I saw you watched. Jin probably will have trot song album which is different. I think extended version of his Super Tuna will soon release too.
Jimin said re his new album to have fun doing lots of interpretations :)

If you want to see the face watch the behind the scenes. He has a lot of content regarding that. Two of his songs are clues left behind, bliss isn't one of them. He did it in Hungary, there's a behind for it.
