Oh my this is quite the finding. I had no idea she sang this one in 2007! I surely dislike her cover of this song because she strains a bit, I think this version is much better because she sings it with her head voice which she has total control of but the downside it that it does not have the sensuality or passion of her chest voice. But overall I do not like how that cover turned out these days.
How can I explain this.... I love her chest voice but here she did it by the book you know? Like ok, probably a bit too much vibrato here and there and less passion but nothing major, pretty good presentation of it. The current version has that goddamn beautiful and sensuous deep chest voice of hers but when she does the transitions to her head voice it just reminds me of a duck, it lacks support and becomes very superficial, lacks depth, same thing happens when she sings victim of ritual sometimes... too much incidence on vowels, lack of support... you probably know what I mean.... the version on the brightest void should have been way more polished... when she sings "this heart is cold" you can hear what I am trying to say but live it is much more prominent... this said, she progressed light years from when she started using her chest tone and I love it. House of wax is stellar and shows what she can do when she gets the chest voice and the transitions right. Long live the siren!

In this version her voice is not that much strong but good unlike this recent performance of this song. I agree with you

Yes I could sometimes think that it is due to her feeling of freedom while singing as long as she can sing whatever transitions she would like to do
her chest voice was much weaker ten years before
Now her low chest and high head voice are the most strongest I ever seen!
