  • Box comparison!! The Japanese big Teddy box is one of my favorites, the French little Teddy and Playskool Mother Goose boxes are a close second. Enjoy!

    Super cute! I love the Japanese Teddy Ruxpin box! Way more colourful than the original!

    I have the German Teddy Ruxpin Box with of course a german Teddy in it. It also came with Teddy Hat Geburtstag the german version of Teddys Birthday.

    I think I have something kinda neat. It's a Teddy Ruxpin in one of those "Promotional use only not for resale" boxes. Apparently, they were made before the display stands

    Oh cool You got the Japanese Teddy! Thanks for the video! It’s definitely an interesting color choice for the box by choosing a sky blue with it fading with white. But I don’t know I’m kinda into it 🤷

    18:55 The National brand is known as Panasonic so, the batteries mentioned as National were the Panasonic batteries.
    But... Never knew of a Japanese language Teddy Ruxpin... Never saw it in Spanish despite the popularity of the toy and cartoon series.

    Could you upload full versions of all your english-languange tape-cartridges like you did the foreign-language Mother Goose ones? I know you've done some of Teddy's tapes but everything else seems to be just clips of various segments. I'd enjoy these uploads a lot even for dolls like Jill who's tapes seem to be composed of segments rather than contiguous stories. Thanks for reading both comments.

    Interesting video. I didn't realize that the boxes would be that different. Great descriptions as usual. I have a question. What do you mean by "toe Grubby?" I don't think I've heard of that before.

    • @blueoctopede
      @blueoctopede  2 года назад +1

      Oh yeah!! So the retail Grubby toy has just like... plush ball feet. Round little nubs. There was one prototype Grubby toy that shows up in early promo photos that has feet with actual toes sewn on that everyone just refers to as "Toe Grubby." It's very strange 😂

    Thanks for replying, Blue. Hope Pesu's camera gets fixed soon! Hope you don't have to send him all the way to Japan for repairs.

    I think that Japanese version was supposed to introduce Teddy to the children and their parents. Probably, Teddy Ruxpin wasn't as popular abroad as in the USA and Canada.

    What happens if you try to turn
    on one of your dolls, teddy, your Playmates dolls, 2XL, etc. without inserting a tape-cartridge?
    also, do you still interact with that IBO robot anymore?

    • @juliaboon9741
      @juliaboon9741 2 года назад +2

      If you turn a Teddy or a Cricket/Corky on without a tape the wheels just turn expecting a tape but make no sound; just gears.

    • @Heather-Br
      @Heather-Br 2 года назад

      @@juliaboon9741 Just like a regular tape player, then. Thanks. I thought perhaps the dolls might come with some onboard entertainment like jokes or the like.

    • @blueoctopede
      @blueoctopede  2 года назад +2

      Julia is correct! Without a tape, they do basically nothing. And yes, I do still have my Aibo! His camera stopped working however, so I haven't taken him out to play as much. He acts sad since he can't see anything and I feel bad for him, so I mostly just let him sleep. I'm waiting to send him to the clinic for repairs.
