No, not any person in the real world can surpass certain limits, it's fine to think that it makes people feel good but that's not the reality, certain people are born with tools that make more profficient and talented than someone who we could call normal. No matter how hard people trained from birth they will be talented as magnus Carlson, michael Phelps, lebron james etc.

    This video is just fantastic,
I do think with the absolute ridiculous nerfs and amps that Depa had over mace makes that feat nearly mute, I’d say Ki adi’s feats and more importantly statements implying he’s on par with plo koon and a genuine threat to Palpatine’s plan puts him above. Also Shaak is directly stated as inferior to Cin Drallig in the temple during order 66 and only landed those hits to GG when she wasn’t exhausted. Mundi also gained more kills in direct competition to anakin in the second battle of Geonosis.
Other then that it’s literally a perfect scale in my honest opinion very very well done

      Indeed.
“Skywalker is arguably the most powerful Jedi alive, and he is still getting stronger.” - Mace Windu, ROTS Adult novel
The man is explicitly stating Anakin is stronger than everyone including him now and is clearly getting stronger

    • @KartarNighthawk
      @KartarNighthawk 7 месяцев назад +3

@@gevarradesmon1999 Worth noting is that Mace, as written by the same author in Shatterpoint, doesn't consider himself especially powerful. Up against Kar Vastor, Mace reflects that Vastor is younger than he is, physically stronger than he is, and has more Force power than Mace has ever had. Which is why when Mace has to finally put him down he uses a combination of skill and a surprise attack to do it. Mace doesn't view himself as exceptionally powerful in terms of raw Force potential; it's his experience, tactical prowess, and mastery of Vapaad that make him so damn confident.

Disney gave us some more lore for Coleman Kcaj. Apparently he survived Order 66, potentially surviving til 9 BBY before being killed by the Inquisitors or Darth Vader, which seeing his lack of lore in the EU I could see happening there too.
Of course we don't know where he was during Order 66, but depending on the circumstances of his survival he could potentially be more powerful than Stass Allie plus he must have done something of importance to be even considered for a seat on the council, especially since there are several other Jedi (like Aayla Secura or Luminara Undula) who could have taken the seat.

Plo Koon is/was probably the most underused Jedi in canon. It was good that they gave him a larger role TCW, but he should have had more presence in the films too. He was like the last of what the Jedi have been / were long ago. He and Qui-Gon, probably Babylon Skoll too, could have made kick-ass new order light-grey Jedi - not quite as on the fence as most greys, but not as myopic as the Jedi.

Obi could still Beat Vader for a time post Revenge of the Sith, but eventually time and isolation undid him. Vader was constantly fighting and training with so much more wealth and resources to put into it, in training material and sparring partners while Ben had no one.

  • @macattackk

Great video! I do think that Yoda and possibly Mace and Anakin too should've been placed a tier above Kenobi though. Yoda outright states he wouldn't stand a chance against Sidious, whereas at least Yoda and Mace definitely would, and as you mentioned it is also stated many times that Anakin was a superior fighter and stronger in the force than Kenobi, with Kenobi's victory being very circumstantial. Add to that instances like Kenobi and Anakin's respective performances against Dooku, and I think it stands to reason that, though Kenobi is superior to everyone below him on this list, he is not on par with the other members of S tier.

    • @karolclark791
      @karolclark791 11 месяцев назад +1

You're not giving Obi Wan enough credit for his wisdom during battle. Sure Anakin was a slightly better duelist, but that's all he could do overpower the enemy. While Obi Wan on multiple occasions was able to use the environment to his advantage. The high ground wasn't some magical unfair advantage that just happened to be there.
Obi Wan knew he can't defeat Vader outright and the whole fight he was luring Anakin to new locations to look for something that'll help him secure the win.

  • @borgCube100
    @borgCube100 11 месяцев назад +2

I do believe it's calculated to be around 19 strikes a SECOND that Obi-Wan rather easily (for someone fighting off 19 strikes a second), not only deflected, but out right countered (cutting off limbs) from General Grievous.
4 angles, strengths and styles attacking someone with one blade - someone who was once moved out of the Jedi Knight path because of his weaker connection to the force, shows that hard-work and experience can outclass almost anything.

  • @brandondiotte2104

Given that all of the council members spent decades/centuries residing above a giant Darkside nexus hidden below the Jedi Temple, when not in the field, basically nerfing their overall force connection it makes me wonder if they would be able to compete with Luke's new council if it did not exist. The Skywalkers would likely still overpower the vast majority, but with a few exceptions, the others would likely have a harder time maintaining their superiority over the old council. Although I can't think of a Jedi on Luke's council who would be below a D tier so who knows.

I would personally place me above Revenge of the Sith Anakin. It is often argued (as in this video) that both Anakin and I are nerfed during this fight so it's difficult to power scale us. I was nerfed by my desire to not kill Anakin while he was nerfed by his arrogance.
But, we cannot only take the cons, we must also take the pros. What I mean by this is that while Anakin was nerfed by his arrogance, he was boosted by his anger and rage in the Dark Side. Turning to the Dark Side both made him stronger while making him more reckless. But that is the nature of the Dark Side, every Dark Side user will become stronger and more overconfident when they fully embrace it. That is why I would argue Anakin was not nerfed, he was at full strength. If was are doing to count any power boosts, we also need to account to any weakness that come with that boost which is why I would argue I beat a full powered, Dark Side Anakin.
Additionally, the novelization has me holding back for most of the fight but I still match Anakin hit for hit. But at the end of the fight, it is clearly stated that I let go of any attachment for him and let the Force flow thought me. When that happens, the fight actually becomes easy. That was me at full strength, not holding back anything and is when I beat Anakin. I was so strong that I beat Anakin without even meaning to. So I would agree that I am stronger than Anakin because I ordinarily do not hold anything back and the instant I don't Anakin was defeated.
Additionally, my intelligence has to be accounted for when ranking my power. I was not physically as strong as Anakin but knowing how to use power is far more important than power itself. I routinely used said intelligence to wear Anakin down and place him in difficult scenarios and battle sense is just as important in a fight as battle ability (which I had as well).
For all those reasons, I would strongly argue that I am above Anakin. I had more battle sense, I won the instant I stopped holding back, and Anakin's overconfidence from the Dark Side cannot be separate from the extra strength he gained from the Dark Side. My defeat of him was not a fluke, it was a clear win. Even Vader later acknowledged this saying he was still the leaner when we met again and it's why Yoda sent to fight Anakin which such confidence, he knew I could win.

Just small note; Syfo Dias was not alive past the phantom menace like Jocasta nu, he died shortly before it possibly concurrent; as chancellor calorimeter sent him for a secret mission when he died from the pykes and dooku and the phantom menace volorum was succeeded by palpatine unless he like real life elections had a time still as chancellor until vacating his seat after palpatine won there’s a formality of a month maybe before switching positions. However, I doubt this as I’m tales of the Jedi dooku in his third episode during the time at the end of the phantom menace when he’s mourning qui gons death while the council heads to the funeral on nano, he tells sudokus he betrayed everything syfo Dias the clones kamino records, showing that he already killed dias after learning about his vision and commissioning clones and told palpatine about it stole the project and erased records by that point. In the clone wars when anakin fights dooku on naboo and is captured to prisoner exchange with grievous, dooku tells a anakin he was part of that first battle on naboo and and helping the sith so it all lines up that syfo was killed shortly or months prior to the naboo conflict and was helping in the shadows killing his friend stealing project erasing kamino then whilst jinns funeral is happening dooku kills yaddle and goes from fallen jedi or dark side/sith acolyte to official apprentice of sidious when he tells him to rise and calls him apprentice

Great vid, one that ive looked forward to for a long time! One thing im really happy about is to hear you pointing out that Anakin *and* Obi-Wan were conflicted and hindered during their Mustafar duel. So many people make excuses for Anakin, bring up to high heavens how hindered he was (which is true), but conveniently ignoring ENTIRELY how conflicted Kenobi was.
Hell, just hours before, Obi-Wan outright stated that he thought he *could not* kill Anakin (which ultimately proved true), and that he'd rather go into almost certain death against Sidious than to fight his own brother. And the novel clearly states how out of the flow Obi-Wan is in the first half of the duel, showing he isnt in the state he was against Grievous. It wasnt until he was nearly killed, that he managed to achieve unity with the force and get into the flow of battle.
Anakin is still above Obi-Wan overall for sure, as you stated. But i hate when people pretend like Obi-Wan was in tip-top shape and in his prime on mustafar, while anakin was a wreck who couldnt even control himself. It is true that anakin by that point was an uncontrolled whirlwind of emotion and was unchained and unfocused, while in truth, Obi-Wan was also very conflicted, just watched his life come down around him, watched a close friend of 13 years be choked to unconsciousness by the love of her life, and had to fight his closest friend, his own brother, to the death. He was not in good circumstances either.

For these Jedi in their orginally intended and designed EU continuity foundation versions how much trouble could say something like Astartes, Eversors, and Dark Eldar Wyches from Warhammer 40k give them in melee combat and the physical and mental performance to keep up with such brutal grimm warriors?
I think mentally even alot of experience mentally fortified Jedi will be having trouble in that kind of situation if they had to perceive the intense dark thoughts and feeling of what something a Wych is like or how insanely unstable being broken so many times a Eversor can be.

I don't like how so many people underrate Obi Wan because he got rekt by Dooku. It's the only fight we see him getting so overwhelmed and in ROTS he kept up with Dooku until Dooku used the force. Dooku also knocked down Anakin just before this but focused on removing Obi Wan from the fight.

Will there be new Star Wars stuff (Legends reviews) on Fanalysis? Also idk if I would subscribe to the NJO council stomping the PT one (unless you mean the one from FOTJ?). Idk I really dislike the Denningverse and there's extremely weird power scaling in there.

Obi-Wan Kenobi was a legendary Force-sensitive human male Jedi Master who served on the Jedi High Council during the final years of the Republic Era. As a Jedi General, Kenobi served in the Grand Army of the Republic that fought against the Separatist Droid Army during the Clone Wars. Kenobi, however, was forced into exile as a result of the Great Jedi Purge. As a mentor, Kenobi was responsible for training two members of the Skywalker family, Anakin and Luke Skywalker, both of whom served in turn as his Padawan in the ways of the Force.
Kenobi was born on the planet Stewjon in 57 BBY. He was Force-sensitive, and therefore taken from his family and inducted into the Jedi Order as a child. Raised in the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant, Kenobi was assigned to Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn. In 32 BBY, Kenobi attained the rank of Jedi Knight by defeating the Sith Lord Darth Maul during the Invasion of Naboo. He also chose to train Anakin Skywalker-the prophesied Chosen One who was destined to destroy the Sith and restore balance to the Force-having promised Jinn who died in the lightsaber duel against Maul.
With the advent of the Clone Wars in 22 BBY, Kenobi adopted the military rank of High Jedi General in the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic, and was given command of the Open Circle Fleet, the Third Systems Army, and the 7th Sky Corps. Clone Marshal Commander CC-2224 "Cody" served as his second-in-command throughout the galaxy-wide conflict, with their forces achieving multiple victories over the Confederacy of Independent Systems. In the midst of the war, his old enemy Maul re-emerged into galactic affairs, bent on revenge against Kenobi for his debilitating defeat decades prior. Though they clashed in heated duels on multiple occasions, Maul failed to end Kenobi's life or cripple his spirit, despite murdering his former love, Satine Kryze, Duchess of Mandalore.
In 19 BBY, Kenobi killed the Separatist Supreme Commander, General Grievous during the Battle of Utapau, effectively ending the Clone Wars. He later survived the initial onslaught of the Great Jedi Purge against the Jedi Order, which resulted from the machinations of the Sith Lord Darth Sidious. After discovering that Skywalker had turned to the dark side of the Force, becoming Sidious' Sith apprentice under the name of Darth Vader, Kenobi defeated his former Padawan on Mustafar and exiled himself to the Outer Rim planet Tatooine as the Galactic Empire rose to power. Adopting a hermit lifestyle as "Ben Kenobi," he watched over Vader's and Senator Padmé Amidala's son, Luke. Ten years later, Kenobi left exile to rescue Leia Organa, Luke's twin sister, and was pursued by the Empire's Inquisitorius and Vader himself. Later, Kenobi was hunted down once again by Maul, whom he finally slew to protect the young Luke. Kenobi began the boy's Jedi training in 0 BBY, and soon after encountered Vader aboard the first Death Star, where he sacrificed himself to ensure that Luke and his allies escaped from the Sith Lord. In death, Kenobi became one with the Force which allowed him to continue guiding Luke throughout the Galactic Civil War. In 4 ABY, Kenobi reunited with his former student, Anakin Skywalker, who died destroying his Sith Master in order to save his son. Kenobi was remembered as a legendary Jedi Master during the rise of the New Republic; Ben Solo, the son of Luke's twin sister, Princess Leia Organa, was named after Kenobi. Solo's turn to the dark side left Luke disillusioned with the Jedi Order's legacy, and he held Kenobi responsible for Anakin's transformation into Vader. However, Luke's faith would eventually be restored with the aid of Darth Sidious's granddaughter Rey, to whom Kenobi would lend his voice and strength in a final battle and victory against her resurrected ancestor on Exegol in 35 ABY. Called to the cold planet Orto Plutonia to ascertain why the Republic had lost contact with a clone outpost, Kenobi and Skywalker, along with Pantoran Chairman Chi Cho and Senator Riyo Chuchi from the nearby moon Pantora, traveled to the Republic base. They found it to be to be devoid of life, as all clones stationed there having been killed-with a monument of their helmets erected inside. After visiting a nearby Separatist base, similar destruction was found, leading Kenobi to believe that the murders at the Republic's base were done by a third unknown party. Logs showed mysterious warriors had taken out the Separatist droids when investigating the world's southern canyon, which Kenobi decided would be a good starting point for their investigation.[87] Separatist base, similar destruction was found, leading Kenobi to believe that the murders at the Republic's base were done by a third unknown party. ObiWanHugged-Trespass
Kenobi surprised by a hug given by Thi-Sen in lieu of a handshake.
When Skywalker and Kenobi headed to the location they met the leader of the Talz people Thi-Sen and their associates, communicating with the natives using rudimentary hand signals and drawings. The Jedi learned that battle droids had attacked the Talz and the clones were accidentally caught in the middle of the conflict. The pair returned to the Republic base, and knowing that the Talz only wanted peace, arranged a diplomatic meeting between the Pantorans and Talz. However, Chi Cho angrily refused to accept any peaceful outcome and provoked a war between him and Thi-Sen's people as he refused to accept peace despite the protests of Chuchi and the Jedi. He declared it an internal affair of Pantora to remove the Jedi from the equation, ordering them to submit to him because they were under the Senate's jurisdiction.[87] When Skywalker and Kenobi appealed to Chuchi to find a way to resolve the political matter diplomatically, she contacted the Speaker of the Pantoran Assembly who granted her the authority to negotiate peace and declared the Chairman out of order. Though Chuchi wanted the Jedi to negotiate on Pantora's behalf, they refused, as it was her people who the Talz were warring with. However, the solution came too late as Chi Cho was attacked before Kenobi, Skywalker, and Chuchi landed and halted the Talz's attack. To settle the conflict between the Pantorans and the Talz, Chuchi met with Thi-Sen, establishing an agreement that allowed the Talz to live in peace on the planet. As the Senator and the Jedi boarded a gunship off-world, Kenobi congratulated the Senator in establishing peace and urged her to make it last and act as an example to others.[87] The Jedi Master felt that the peace achieved through the balancing of both sides had been a unique challenge.[55]
The Jedi Council later agreed to send Kenobi, Skywalker, and Tano, to Naboo in response to intelligence that suggested that a Separatist bio-lab had been set up on the planet at Amidala's suggestion. When Amidala and Binks lost contact while searching for the lab, Skywalker sent Tano along with the Gungan native Peppi Bow to locate them. Meanwhile, Kenobi and Skywalker arrived on Naboo learned from new information discovered by Captain Gregar Typho that Separatist scientist Nuvo Vindi was using the lab to perfect the deadly Blue Shadow Virus so as to release it into key Republic star systems. Kenobi and Skywalker proceeded to plan an infiltration of the facility to prevent the virus from being spread across the galaxy.[89] While they waited in the hangar bay, Kenobi took note of Skywalker's increased levels of agitation during the mission. After being contacted by Tano, Kenobi and Skywalker left instructions for her to cause a diversion. On the other side of the lab, the pair entered and met with her before beginning a search for Vindi's viral bombs. Kenobi located the room where the bombs were held with his clone troopers, instructing his men to deactivate them all. Though Vindi attempted to release the virus, the Jedi were able to apprehend him and rescue Amidala and Binks.[89]
    Angel2
Kenobi talking to an Angel on Iego
As Kenobi and Skywalker prepared to transfer Vindi to Coruscant for trial, Tano, Amidala, and several clones discovered that a vial of the virus was missing. Though the alarm was sounded prior to the vial's detonation, the virus was released throughout the lab. Tano, Amidala, and the clones with them were compromised and infected by the virus. As they worked to ensure droids would not escape the facility, Skywalker and Kenobi implored the Naboo as to what the cure for the virus was. Upon learning it, the Jedi then flew to planet Iego to search for the reeksa root antidote to the virus found there.[88] While on Iego, Skywalker destroyed a number of reprogrammed battle droids owned by the local native Jaybo Hood, which Kenobi chided him for. Hood then told the pair where to find the antidote they were looking for, though warned it was dangerous. The young man also informed the Jedi that the phantom leader of Iego, Drol, would not allow any individual to leave the planet. Kenobi and Skywalker rode a xandu to the bottom of a ravine and quickly gathered some reeksa root before escaping from the carnivorous plant. Upon trying to leave Iego, the two Jedi discovered that "Drol" was actually a Separatist laser security system surrounding the planet and enlisted Hood's help in destroying it despite the skepticism of the other natives. When successful, Kenobi and Skywalker traveled back to Naboo and delivered the antidote that saved Tano, Amidala, and the clone troopers. Kenobi also offered Binks blaster training to hone his skills, which the Gungan enthusiastically accepted.[88] After the event, the Jedi Master became more keenly aware of Skywalker's emotional instability when around Amidala and resolved to watch the pair more closely as the war continued.[55]

Great Video! I love ranking characters within universe good to see one online of such quality.
I think I'd put Kit Fisto in A Tier. He was one of the few Jedi to withstand Grevious, was considered the Shii Cho master, and we see him most often despite no lines in the films.
In fact I don't know if I'd agree with most of A Tier as a sure thing except Ki Adi Mundi and Shaak Ti. Don't know about Plo Koon and Depa Bilaba.
I'd put Depa in the B tier. Blades expert but relatively weak in the Force. She'd have been on Mace's strike team if available. If the rest of that strike team is B then so is she.
Plo is powerful in the Force and a Jedi ace, but I can't think of a single notable lightsaber combat he excelled in. Token video game throwaway line aside. Savage is a brute who always needed back up from Dooku, Maul or Asajj. If Yaddle is C so is he. Yaddle dueled Dooku in the recent Tales of the Jedi and did better than Plo would be able to.
I'm curious where you would put Sora Bulq, Quinlan Vos, The Dark Lady?
Also curious where you'd rank the various Padawans of the Legends Prequels Era. Anakin, Ferus Olin, Ahsoka, Barriss Offee, Zett Jukas, Whie Malreaux, Scout,-I think that's the order I'd put them in.

Kit Fisto never stood against Grievous in legends and he literally defeated by Ventress in 1v1 also Dooku said himself many times that Grievous is much more stronger and faster than Ventress. Also Depa Billaba with rage amp literally defeated Mace Windu in a duel and she is also a master of Vaapad just like Mace. She is probably the strongest one in A tier and she literally comatised after that duel because she went insane and her mind couldn't handle the darkside, war's reality and Republic's future. She literally foresee the future unlike Mace and said "Jedi will lost". That's why she wasn't in council anymore and wasn't one of Mace's team because She was in a vegetative state for months but in canon she wake up somehow and died in order 66. Depa is such an underrated character tho

People gotta stop putting yoda as top, he has 900 yrs of experience & couldn't beat Sidious who only had what 50-60 yrs? HE IS DOG SHIT! He should've been bodying Palpa for free but he couldn't beat him in saber combat nor force & had to retreat. He also couldn't beat Dooku who beat Anakin & Obi-Wan with ease & Yoda with no sweat. Dooku ripped them rocks down with no effort but yoda is seen struggling his ass off, Yaddle didn't even struggle that hard with a giant blast door dropped on top of her weighing similar or more weight in a compromised position.
Yoda was & is weak. Mace beat & wouldve killed Palpatine in a 1v1 which idiots denied al these yrs cause he definitely wanted to electrocute himself & feel that pain to the point it disfigured himself 😒 Mace is grand master rank & the 1 smart enough to not trust Anakin, when the moment he did give him an ouch he betrayed him & fucked the galaxy. Yoda is master rank & at best B+ tier. Yoda couldn't even help him or see through his bs lies to prevent what happened.

Lucas has said Mace beat Palpatine. The Novelists added their opinions outside of the movie's script/screenplay's. This is where you have to remember that when the movie takes precedence over novelations in terms of canon. Jedi Masters/Knights don't have Power Levels like Goku vs Ginyu on Namek with some scouter. Midichlorian ratings mean nothing. Anakakin & Obi-Wan lost plenty of battles in the Clone Wars, but they were some of the best. Age, lightsaber style, experience, type of battle, situation, all play a role in whether 1 person would win over another.

In my personal opinion, Oppo Rancisis should have been in B tier. Especially with his tactical insight and force abilities, plus Battle Mediation is VERY HARD to master Spiritually and Rancisis' Mediation was just as potent up there with jedi akin to Odan-Urr, Nomi Sunrider, and Legacy era Tra'Saa. He might not be as powerful as Kolar and Fisto in terms of Saber combat but he is most definitely in their league when it comes Force Abilities (Definitely Stronger than Kolar and every other users in lesser tiers) and in my opinion in the same league as Mundi and Billaba. This is a dude who fought a taskforce of skilled Anzati Assassins (which most already know are trained to kill Jedi and are essentially Space Vampires) who got the drop on him and still won with him being physically and Spiritually exhausted plus old age and fatigue playing their parts as well. This to me is just as impressive as Shaak Ti fighting a swarm of Magnaguards during the Battle of Coruscant when she was tired as well before the fight. If he was healthy, I believe Oppo could have had a shot of taking out Sora Bulq especially if Sora is going all Savage Oppress on Rancisis.

disagree with where you put gallia. she mastered force lightning, the shockwave ability, even force mesmerise. she was also unlucky when she got hit with the force blast- unlike obi wan and anakin, dooku, ventress who suffered the same with their barriers pierced.. doesn't mean they lacked in skill or focus..no, and gallia just landed in the side of a ship with 80 km speed and force, hitting her head, getting stunned. so, she is higher.. koth and mundi- high, though i rate tiin lower than where you put him- lower than koth and adi, even lower than agen potentially, his duelling abilities are non existent beyond mere sparring, and that's next to nothing.
i also put agen lower than eeth- why? he has nothing near the force precision, skill or power that eeth brings in legends and canon- there's more indication of eeth being a swordsmith than agen, even though agen has it listed as a notable skillset of his (eeth seen with a green double bladed lightsaber and being present at the jedi temple workshop in cwa ), and eeth is just too close in duelling skill to have any compensation in that area from agen. while you can argue fairly in both sides that oppo, yaddle, yarael, piell are overhyped/rated, tiin and kolar are actually overhyped with far more to support that claim than refute it. literally no indication of any special offence-defence force abilities usable in any serious duel kolar and tiin didn't survive grievous twice, didn't survive dooku once- no feats like that.
imo you also have knight anakin a whisker too high, ti a little too low, koon and kenobi are neck and neck with her, kenobi being a combination of them both in his style and combative approach. why do i rate anakin lower? because he is not as skilled as other council members when he is not in his avatar state, he is only stronger than most. he has frequently been brought up short in both universes because his arrogance got in the way, or his fear did. he did not work as hard as other jedi who weren't the chosen one, who were jedi since birth or age 2, no matter how you look at it that is the case.
i would like to see where you'd place tyvokka and micah giiett.
