Wow! Thank you so much for this. Several years ago I was inspired to try and make a rough Shakuhachi, and went as far as to harvest some local bamboo and set it aside. It's been 'drying' for over 10 years, and now I have found myself once again inspired.
That was a terrific overview video for someone who wants to see the essence of this type of flute before dropping into the details of fine craftsmanship. Thanks very much.
Hi. I’m following your videos from the day I started to make and learn shakuhashi, 3 years ago. As I can’t find proper bamboo in my area (south France) the path is an hard one. But the experience is so intense! You’re part of it. Thank you so much for that.
You're solid bro but get someone to hold your camera for you so we don't have look at your sweet shirt for five minutes. Keep up the good work love it. What a beautiful tradition.
what does 1/10th + 1 cm i dont´t understand that part in the instructions of where to do the fingerholes? sorry it would be nice to know what you meant with 2/10ths part of the bottom. i am spanish maybe i don't understand the "ths" abreviation is it for thumbs?
Sounds great the way you play. I ain't too technical so you lost me with the measurements and hole positions. How come the finger holes are positioned off centre? That a better way of playing? The ones I've seen all the holes are in a straight line
How do you decide how the holes shall be up? With root I guess it is just following the bending. After seeing the video, i would love to make one, but I also see there's much more to it though. Thanks for showing the beginners step of making a shakuhachi.🙏
Wow, that seemed very easy for you to make. I might be interested in buying one from you if you were offering any in the near future. I would be more than happy to donate to a food bank for a prize such as this. I attended a traditional concert in Saitama last year and have promised myself to get myself one. I will try to find your email now!
I liked this video because a like de shakuhachi flute but i live in latinoamerica and I dont have the oportunity to play one or even learn it, because here we dont have shakuhachis, we have other instruments and nobody knows hoy to make one shakuhachi.
