This is close to a 2024 Nexus 7 - Picked mine up, and for this price, it really is close to perfect. 1920x1200 laminated screen, half-decent processor, enough ram, unlocked bootloader, it's a great replacement. The only things I'd add to my wishlist for the iPlay50 2 would be 1) high gamut screen with HDR 2) better headphone jack position 3) more uniform heat distribution ( they've got a metal case, but most of my unit's heat seems to be on the screen side; They should try to use that metal case as a heat sink, if possible. Really, anywhere else except through the screen ). Highly recommend checking it out!
@@jason96 My condolences, it passed it's soul on to the mini 50 ;) but that nexus 7 going for 10 years is one hell of a long time, it was an excellent tablet!
I have 2 of the non-NFE Pros. It's a really good tablet for an even better price. Not sure what they are doing with updates though. They don't seem to do anything.
This is the tablet that was supposed to release as a regular iPlay 50 mini Pro. I guess it was too late to get Widevine L1 certified before that was released. Maybe the iPlay 60 mini Pro can offer something a bit more like dual speakers and direct Widevine support. Also pretty sure it's a 13MP camera and not 130MP. Otherwise, good review.
I'm confused Joe you state that it was too late to get the L😢1 certification but at 30 seconds in it says that it is certified. Could you possibly clarify this for me. Thank you
@@eriklscott64 nah. My comment was just saying that this version is what the standard mini Pro should've be but was launched late or differently probably because of certification issues. It's why we have the iPlay 50 mini Pro and iPlay 50 mini Pro NFE.
@@joelconolly5574 hey thank you for the reply Joel. I did more investigating and I see what you're talking about. I actually ordered the non- NFE and I'm not even going to open it I'm just going to send it back. These Chinese tablets seem to just play games with certifications and any sort of security updates. I'm starting to get very tired of all the nonsense involved with them. The hardware is usually very good but the support is horrible. And then they just keep piling one model on top of the other. They are a ad company themselves. Plus it's really sketchy, always look at reviews at how many people got fucked over and how they put in fake numbers to make customs think it's a cheaper thing lol
I know that most people in this world don't just need flagships, having affordable and fairly good options is already enough to make them very happy. I received an email from an older viewer who wanted to buy a $120 phone as a gift for his son, and I wouldn't mind a mixed bag of good and bad products at that price point; rather, I think it's worth trading in for a family's joy if I took it seriously. Thank god, they both like the one I recommended. This compact tablet, which now costs just under $150 (saw coupons there... maybe cheaper?), with Widevine L1, FHD screen, portable size, TF card, and Sim-card slot for mobile networks. I think it deserves to be shown to some people. We aren't getting any benefits other than the free sample. Also, we might make some silly mistakes, but we don't fudge any review numbers. Anyway, it's really sad to hear that.
