      unless you have medicine to get all the time. That adds to the deductible fast.

    Man, that whole doctor thing hit close to home. Up until last year, I could count the times I went to the doctor on one hand. Unless something inside me was functioning incorrectly, I never went because the cost of it outweighed getting help for any illness I had.

    My husband and I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and yet somehow we don't mange to get each other sick every time... I'd say only about 50% of the time. It involves lots of lysol wipes and absolutely no touching each other. It sucks but if you can save your partner some grief... well we make sacrifices yeah.

    Healthcare in Switzerland (where I’m currently living) is very similar to the one in the US and it sucks ass. The difference is that here it is compulsory to have health insurance. But I guess salaries are better here. Anyway, deductibles all the way.

    It’s actually really interesting to see just how sick Mal was while she was painting the Majora’s Mask painting. I knew she was sick, but hearing someone’s sick is always very different from seeing, “oh wow. Poor thing. You are so sick!” It makes the painting she did even more impressive.
    (It’s one of my favorite paintings, but I find myself saying that about most of them lately!)

    Two weeks ago I had something of a stuffy nose for just one day, until the next day I had veritgo for longer than a week. Nothing could solve it and my doctor told me it was generally caused by an ear infection, but I haven't had one since like 2011. So I was either dead in bed, or falling over when I stood up. So it might not be the same pain, but I understand the suffering you two

    well waiting lists are other countries variants of our health care, it also depends who you have Horizon Blue Cross is what iv had since i was born and i only pay 10$ for everything, my parents and when i was of age to get my own plan with my girlfriend w dont have a deductible but i suppose thats because my dad got it through his work and i was already in it so i was able to make a plan of my own where they pay it all

    For Sagan's bathroom issues, you may want to switch food brands to something with less protein. If you're feeding the cats Blue Wilderness, switching to the "regular" Blue Buffalo cat food (I think it's the Life Protection line?) should already help to begin with. Otherwise, you may want to look into other options (i.e. NutriSource, Wysong, PureVita, or another brand) and see if that helps. You may also want to consider switching to a different protein source/flavor of food before trying to switch brands, in case it is an intolerance causing Sagan's bathroom issues.
    Also putting a disclaimer here: I am NOT an expert in animal nutrition, but I have learned some here and there from other people and sources. Nutrition is a very complicated topic to learn about, so all information regarding this topic may be taken with a grain of salt, as every individual is different in their various nutritional and health needs.

      Sagan is currently on Blue Basics -limited ingredient cans. He's doing really great on that. No urinary crystals, no diarrhea. We just have to make sure he doesn't steal Kep's dry food.

    so speaking as someone from norway i have to ask, the heck is this dedectable he keeps talking about?

    • @leannes1315
      @leannes1315 6 лет назад +4

      bjam89 A deductible is a certain amount of money you have to pay out of pocket before your insurance provider pays any expenses. In Canada, we have this for certain prescription drug plans but not doctor visits.

    • @bjam89
      @bjam89 6 лет назад +2

      in norway it is on doctor visits, and meds, also taxi if it is medical reason but not hospital since that is free, and once you have spent 250ish bucks in a year you get the free card that makes stuff free, but that is fairly hard to get, since it is like i dont know 10 trips to the doctor in a year, if you get blood works done and whatnot and you need medicine since the basic ones we use for everything is just go to the normal store and buy there, ah good old paracetamol and ibuprofen, the cure all of the norwegian people's lesser illnesses.
      i think it might also work with shrinks, rehab centers, you know the private ones, and if i have to go to america for treatment

    • @bjam89

      also thanks for the context, i still dont get it, but i am a socialist so i will never be able to grasp the murican system

    • @MalMakes
      @MalMakes 6 лет назад +3

      As an American, I don't even get the American system. I just ask my friends who work for insurance companies to explain it to me. Basically: you pay a monthly premium to your insurance company. It's a monthly bill. In addition to that: if you see a doctor you have a co-payment which is a payment you make at the doctor's office. Depending on your plan, you probably have a lower cost for your primary doctor and a higher cost for a specialist. Emergency doctor's would have an even higher co-pay. Later you get a bill from the doctor for your visit. You have to pay a certain amount before insurance covers anything (deductible) and once you meet that - they'll pay some of your doctor's bill. Once you meet your "out of pocket limit" they cover everything. This is all yearly not per visit so once you meet your deductible for the year - things start getting covered. Because Stephen had surgery in May - he met our deductible for the year - insurance would help us pay for a doctor visit in December. The price of your deductible and out-of-pocket limit changes based on: if you have a plan by yourself, you and a spouse, or you, your spouse, and children. (It's higher for families). It also changes based on the plan you have. Certain medical things aren't covered and some will be only if you get pre-approval from insurance. Also you get a "discount" if you have insurance if you're seeing a doctor who takes your insurance. You can't just go to any doctor. :(
