So Puni struggled this game. Atleast he gave up 0 sacks but gave up some pressures. Hes still a steal, everybody had a bad game even the gorilla Trent.
@@Bobo28919 great point. I’m biased towards Puni in a major way but he did come back down to Earth against the Vikings. You are spot on and I’m looking forward to 8-10 healthy years of Polynesian Pancakes (if someone takes that tell them you heard it here first lol)

I watched the game over and over again, and I noticed a few things: one, there were too many snaps where all of them were not in sync; next, it felt like Purdy had moments where needed that first read to have time (especially to his right) and he was forced to improvise. I think we get back to the big dance, but if they dont fix it you will lose that big game. Why we refuse to bring in some veteran depth is beyond me.
they barely ran any play action in this game, and chose to pass so much at the beginning. so strange play calling. maybe more designed roll out for purdy to help with oline? dunno. even trent sux on the last game.

Trent gave up 4 pressures, no hurries, no sacks. 90.5 run blocking grade according to PFF. I guess that’s a shitty game for HIM 🤣
Yeah Trent was solid. His bad games would be a dream for majority of the Oline.

I don’t think Mckivitz has arm length or athleticism to be successful long term . But agreed with everything else

@@obidianudokem858 sort of needed to be that way starting the year. They wanted to carry an extra WR and needed to use Juice as our third to fit 7… more than likely will bring Tonges in for a few plays. Saubert can be decent in a pinch but needs to be ready for that Rams front.
I would literally play with a pylon in place of McKivitz. At least then there would be an obstacle in the way before giving up a pressure.

@@Wizez I agreed with getting rid of mcglinchey as he never fully developed into the type of player we thought he'd be as the replacement for Anthony Davis. But the current staff of the 49ers have openly admitted that they like to pay people that score touchdowns. Colton is just .. bad. He hasn't progressed.

There definitely needs to be a scheme and possibly player switch if this continues to plague the 49ers as it has. Good call!
What are the chances of Nugent being brought up from the PS and replacing Brendel at C? He was solid at Mich., the OL was part of the reason they were nat'l champs and he was the qb of the OL.
The offensive line coach was asked about this yesterday and he said Brendel was the best they have. Either he's delusional, or 49ers have depth issues. Maybe Puni can play center?
