suriya has been confirmed to be appearing in a cameo role most probably in the climax. 0:10 the one throwing the knife and 1:28 the guy's back u see is suriya (timestamps acc to the trailer). this movie is also said to have a crossover or a connection with kaithi (lokesh's second film starring karthi in the lead which will be having a prequel kaithi 2). there is also a speculation that suriya's character might be vikram.
edit: i watched the film and suriya is not vikram. dont want to spoil who he is here for those who havent watched the film yet.
Dont beat drums too early, the movie is not yet released. Then you will be the same people who will heap garbage and hatred on the director and cry everywhere when it doesnt deliver what you expected

Context of why everyone is excited about the movie
-> "Vikram" Charector helmed by Kamal Hassan is a continuation of 1986 spy thriller Movie "Vikram" where Kamal Hassan played a Governement secret agent called "Vikram" who was presumed dead at the end of the movie. So this movie is sort of a Sequel to the original movie.
-> Lokesh Kanagaraj previous movie "Kaithi" is all about a Underworld gang, a honest police offier, a ex-convict, a group of college students, a daughter waiting for his father, a retiring police offer and a crores worth of Drugs. The movie ended in a note of having a sequal. There were frames in "Vikram Trailer" where it should Underworld gangs references all over. So this movie is also kind of a sequal to the movie "Kaithi".
-> There were two frames where suriya was showed by his face was hidded. This film leads into the movie "Kaithi" sequal. So this single movie sort of hyper links three different universes, making it a franchise.
-> Also the director Lokesh, is known for Hyper linking each and every charector into the central plot. His Screenplay and how everyone is knitted into the story is what cause of all this hype.
-> Also the Star studded cast is helping a lot to the promotion of the movie.
-> On top of Lokesh being a screenplay Star, "Kamal Haasan" literally is the God father of writing a Screenplay for charectors. He literally gave screenspace for 12 different charectors in a single space and still we remember each and every charector. The movie was "Dasavatharam"

As it's is evident with south Indian trailers, the plot wasn't given in the trailer, the reason why people are hyped is because of the story and not the action
You are contradicting yourself😅. People familiar with Lokesh kanagaraj's filmography are the ones who are hyped for the 'potential' story that may or may not be great and there's no info regarding the story has been teased in the trailer. So as a trailer for a person who has zero context, it's just a bunch of action screenshots clipped together.

So I can understand if someone who's foreign to the concept is unable to grasp the excitement behind it....but they have had a taste of his filmmaking before by watching Kaithi, which Jaby has forgotten because Achara is the one who keeps reminding abt the director...My point being, that Jaby was being cynical by disregarding the director, whose movie they've watched and enjoyed...so that was a bit disappointing

As a fan of all of Loki's 3 movies (I liked some ideas of master), I am excited. But if I watched only Kaithi, I would be skeptical too... And I don't think he (jaby) remembers Kaithi well either.

Same kind of assumptions were done for Beast when audience assumed what kind of a director Nelson is. Lets wait for the movie to release, better not to do too many assumptions early and then totally hate it when it does not deliver what you assume
@@rajirvin1 I didn't expect more from Nelson bcz in his previous film doctor hero characterization is very subtle and looks like zero acting which got blame on hero SK same mistake did in his next film with star hero vijay..
As he's big star he got spotted easily by audience that Vijay looked dull in the movie...
But lokesh is different from Nelson in lokesh movie hero characterization is soo strong and I believe kamal
I feel like what excites me the most is how RAW this film looks, and I think that will translate to the action, probably will make the action a bit more grounded, but still intense

I too got the same feeling.. They could have put more dialog between the characters face to face instead of narrative approach cos all three are solid actors.. Maybe Lokesh doesn't want to give too much away. Can't wait for this movie!!

The way the actors look when they are being violent is the takeaway for some people when they say they like the action. Not everyone is focused on the movements and fluidity of the action sequences. Some of us just want to see these guys looking cool. Its like tom cruise smiling and being romantic and saying you complete me. We don't need a plot to find it endearing, and we don't need a complementary performance opposite him. Looking at the shot is sufficient. It's just about how an actor carries himself/herself when doing a certain kind of scene. I understand Jaby though cause he is not usually impressed by stars. This is a star thing.
I agree and disagree at the same time. The plot is definitely important. For instance, look at what “Beast”. There are certain movies that only “look” good but it will easily bore you to death with its illogical nonsense. Luckily, Lokesh is a good director, so that wouldn’t be a problem in this movie. But the story definitely matters.
@@walterwhite4699 that's my point. I liked beast. I would have loved it if it had better writing but that didn't stop me from enjoying the movie. Because how vijay carried himself in the movie was rewarding to me. I am not saying its always rewarding. There are movies where i have hated how they portrayed him. That's why i said it's a star thing.

The anticipation with regards to the movie is massive guys. Like Achara stated, the fact that these 3 amazing actors (and seeing our amazing Kamal Hassan) are coming together, in a movie directed by one of the most impressive young directors right now in the Tamil film industry is definitely a big selling point! (love you Achara for this!

I am not really getting pumped that much for the action but I am expecting a story. I can't expect gun action like John Wick but if its realistic and have a very nice story then I would really jump in for this movie. What was amazing about the trailer is it didn't reveal so much information about the story yet it gets people engaged and again can't stop myself from appreciating fabolous bgm.

Jaby after watching so many tamil, south indian trailers, you seems not have got the tastes of the audience yet completely. Because why people excited is not the for the action in the traile but for
1. Casting
2. What could be the story behind it, what could be the conversations, scene placements and individual performances as so many things happening in the trailer.

I dunno what's got into Jaby. Complaining about the same thing throughout the video. And didn't have anything nice to say about the trailer except the star cast. There are some cool shots, BGM is stellar, the characters are intense.
Not gonna lie. Best movie trailer ever. Vikram can’t be compared to any Hollywood movie. I honestly think that this is something new and has a different flavor to it. I would definitely not give any comparisons, since it’s very unique. One comparison could be compared to the movie Black Mass.

Also it's loki and ani combo which makes it more exciting too. Also it is aimed at the South Indian audience so they didn't sell us that much in the trailer as usual. Hi, the machine gun scene is not from KGF, it was indeed inspired from Lokesh (the same director's) Kaidhi movie which was released 2 years back. The director Lokesh always has this machine gun and Biriyani as his signature style. Well, the Kaidhi Tamil movie is soon gonna be remade in Hindi by (Vimal famous) Ajay Devgan himself
So happy to see Kamal Haasan sir getting more light after so many years, one of the gems of indian cinema who has done epic films in his career and was shun out just cause of his ideology, still great respect for all his work 🙏🙌
OK, you want the honest opinion right? When it comes to Indian movies, when they don't try to reveal even a slight amount of content in trailers, I feel like the director is super confident in the movie. Lokesh's previous works speak for themselves. If you visited your "Kaithi" review again, you would get it. These actors too, they won't decide to band together unless the story is on point. That's what sells me the movie. The not too much stylized action too. Trailers like RRR which seemed to be interesting were letdowns. Personally this trailer was classy and clean. With the amount of practical and not overdramatic action
For the majority RRR wasn't a let down, it delivered what it promised and more. I am confident Vikram will do great in that aspect as well just that its a different genre hence not worth comparing.
Some movies had good trailers and were still a let down like Saaho, but it doesn't apply to all. There are movies like Jiivi which i wouldn't have cared to watch if i hadn't watch the trailer or teaser.
RRR is probably the 1st Indian movie that is being enjoyed and rated by foreign domains ..... no one cared KGF 2 out of India but RRR is still being celebrated outside and becoming more and more popular. RRR is actually not Indians style movie

Jaby I know you weren't particularly impressed with the action scenes in the trailer but let me say this....this movie had proper character arcs, layers and one element that's crucial in action movies, STAKES!! Also, this movie's a small piece of a bigger puzzle.

Tbh, we all were achara here 😜. Really expected jaby to see how the shots were taken, what they were talking about (dialogues), the music, the cinematography. None of it were spoken about, I understand that you wanted to see something else but you can acknowledge what was being shown. Disappointed is the word.

For me its less of the action but the violence - being a Canadian Tamilian and growing with this cinema. Its rare to see this really raw violence, especially with these characters. Also L.K directing it, you know that it wont be action/violence for action/violence; the brutality and rawness will play a bigger role for sure.

The "MACHINE GUN" scene is similar to the one in "KAITHI (2019)" movie by the same director - LOKESH KANAGARAJ. Now this plot is coming again in this director's movie (VIKRAM). After "KAITHI", this MACHINE GUN was included in KGF 2 by the Tamil Stunt Artist (ANBARIVU) for KGF 2.
