Can be done without Fenrir's gun as well but you will probably have to bait out one or two more helicopter salvos before clearing everything.
The biggest deal is knowing that helicopters don't update their tracking and will follow a set, straight path with their piercing bullets. Standing to one side and then moving perpendicular to their paths will help guarantee that you are in the blind spot for the salvo.
