I never tanned until I went to a salon. 15 yrs of use of tanning beds and I had skin cancer and spotting. Just be warned. It's addictive. I regret ruining my pale skin. 🙃
Sorry to hear about this.😕 Just a question, did you use sun screen? Because they don’t tell you to do so but I’m doing it anyways to block out at least some bad radiation. I think the most important part is that you shouldn’t go tanning too often :)

Learning new skills, you can learn by yourself or get teaching from others like in school. To get in to some really good school is difficult and some people try many years to get in those best schools - also you neet to work same time when studing, just to get money for living. Traditional school gives time and enviroment for doing your own learning. Do not expect that you learn everything just with information what school gives to you, it's only part of what you can learn - but school gives sertificate and that is a bonus.
BUT.. there is other way to learn. Imagine to get a job from company what is doing things you like to learn. You learn by working maybe as a assistant etc.. just around yourself with people whom already have the skills you like to learn (like audio and video production). Some companies even support or pay your study. At the end you learn by yourself, there is many ways to get the knowledge.
I'm proud of you Lisa for following your dreams. Life is too short for us not to take risks and try new things. Those are the things that matter at the end of the day!

Go back to school if you want! But do a lot of research about courses to study. I’ve beeen in college for yearsssss because what i thought i wanted to do didn’t work out. Now I’m looking for a job and my degree i got doesn’t help me. It sucks homestly.

This was super comforting, I sympathise with a lot of what you sayd & find myself in a very similar situation.
Very nice and honest video Lisa! You’re still super young, in my country people only graduate from high school when they’re 19, so we start college at almost 20. And you have so much other life experience already, I think that’s great. Definitely go for your dream! I would just say to really find out as much about the study program you’re interested in as you can, just so you’re not disappointed. If the actual courses at one particular school don’t sound appealing, you can always study the same subject at a different school that has a better program. I know it’s not that easy, but you know what I mean... I studied at 3 different universities (same subject) and the courses and the approach of the teachers was completely different at each one. So it’s important to choose carefully :) By the way, I don’t think becoming a film director is an unrealistic dream! My brother is about to finish his master’s in film direction and he’s already able to make pretty good money as well as work on projects he really enjoys. It’s not like you either become an Academy Award winner or a total loser :) There are plenty of job opportunities in the field and plenty of directors who make good films, but don’t become super famous (not saying you won’t become famous, just that it’s not the end of your career if you don’t ;)) Good luck with everything!x

Wow. That makes me sad to hear your parents are not positive about your film career. The truth is- ANY career or job where you earn income is really really tough. You might as well go for what you have a passion for - and it sure seems like you have a passion for film to me. I think working before you start college is the smartest idea EVER. I wish I had done that. I know when I was right out of high school I was just too crazy and overwhelmed with newfound freedoms a d spent too much time having a good time rather than working on a future. You have to be able to work on both, really. I say go for your film career dream! Show your dad you got this!!!!

Gewoon de opleiding doen waar je zelf zin in hebt, heb ik ook gedaan. Uiteindelijk komt het allemaal goed. En mocht er in de toekomst geen jobs voor te vinden zijn, kan je altijd nog als freelancer aan de slag gaan zoals ik. :D
