Drury needs to be gone. The fact he made it public that Trouba and Kreider were on the block ruined the locker room. If the issuee weren't so piblic, maybe this tean could rally. But now that all the dirty laundry is out there, on top of how Goodrow and Trouba were pushed out, guys are playing scared with no confidence. What was the point of doing that?

They may have needed to go, but to drag this out publicly has caused dissention in this room. The team's play has gotten worse. Has the defense gotten better without Trouba? Should we blame Trouba for the Rangers allowing 7 goals to Seattle. Or allowing 5 goals to the Kings? Or losing to the Blackhawks? Trouba wasn't the problem on this team.
Sitting Kakko was an awful decision. Has he lived up to a #2 overall pick? No. He is near the bottom of the "who's to blame" list. The only ones who are playing well are the kids. They should be triple shifting them but they still want to put out Mika in every situation. I'm sick of this crap.
These players need to realize that professional sports is a business. If you have an asset that is not performing up to what you are paying it, you lose that asset. As a player, you have to realize this, and not get your feelings hurt because a friend was not earning his keep and was benched, moved down the lineup, or even traded or waived. Worry about yourself and your next contract, and give your best effort every shift.
I don’t blame Drury for getting rid of Trouba. I loved him when he was tough but he was too soft for too long and had to go. Several other players such as Kreider, Zibanejad and Lindgren need to follow him. They served us well for a time but the game has passed them or they’re too soft, like Trouba. A mass clean-out making room for physical players is required, which was evident with how we bombed out of the playoffs last season. Drury is heading in the right direction.

I think the constant uncertainty with regards to who is going and who is staying has destroyed this locker room. However, to be fair, this team is not mentally tough. We saw this in the playoffs last year as well. Mental fatigue, mental weakness, just all around weak. Rangers might be the luckiest team in the league over the last three years. Sure they have some good solid streaks but they aren't consistent because they're weak.

Ah, the old scramble all the lines move - that's a classic we saw in Washington when Laviolette had crashed that roster. Didn't work then either.
It has been more or less the same 6 or 7 teams in the east for the last 4 or 5 years. Rangers, Leafs, Bruins, Capitals, Lightning, Panthers, and until recentley, Penguins. thats 9 other teams. their purpose isn't to be cannon fodder for these 6 or 7. everyone has a fall from grace. the Atlantic alone has had a major power shift over the last 10-15 years. in the mid to late 2000s. the Bruins, Leafs and Panthers were all flattened by the Wings, Sabres and Senators. Now look at them. the Pendulum will swing the other way eventually, and we're seeing it start now in the Metro

I have been a Ranger fan since 1979 and this latest team can be better, but they are under some real negative Karma - especially because of the 'Goalie' greed, he may be playing well but he and many other players are not worth the contracts they are getting (not just the Rangers), The team is lacking stable defence, they have so little rhythm and don't seem to know what they can do as a team. Bring back Alain Vigneault or similar. Finally, it doesn't matter which players are there if they don't believe in each other they'll never win the Cup again

Yeah the Rangers were supposed to be cup contenders. They succumbed to the pressure once again, it was also seen in 2022-23 after they made the ECF. This time it more had to do with the offseason drama, putting one of their alternate captains on waivers and sending him off to the Sharks wasn't a good start. Then there was the whole Trouba debacle. Probably impacted the mindset of the team, knowing how their fellow leaders were getting mistreated. Now most of the team looks demoralized, this is what happens when expectations are high and pressure is on everyone.

Laviolette is the 3rd coach they’ve had in 4 years, and he won them the President’s trophy and took them to the ECF last year. It’s not a coaching issue, the team is a bunch of brats who won’t stick with a system and play with passion.

Laviolette is the 3rd coach they’ve had in 4 years, and he won them the President’s trophy and took them to the ECF last year. It’s not a coaching issue, the team is a bunch of brats who won’t stick with a system and play with passion.

What has "Gleider" shown us (consistently) this season? Right -- gliding around, tipping in a couple on PPs. No serious corner battling, ever. No backchecking. Not good 5 on 5.

@@justinfalzon6854 Did I say only THIS season??? No I did not. Gleider has been playing the same soft-ish style for 3-4 years now. He avoids contact, won't give a solid hit yo win a puck battle, doesn't backcheck with any urgency. Nothing new, and this has been going on a while.
And who's the "WE" that will "get a few more playoffs for him"? As the longest tenured player, HE's gotta LEAD every shift, not just become the beneficiary of the other guys' results. Of course they were going to be better this year with the low bar they set, the Rangers set the highest bar they could with winning the presidents trophy and being 2 wins away from the SCF. These are professional players. They are not kids they should be able to handle trade rumors or anything else. They all know that it is part of professional sports.
