It just can't be! This is the first video I've seen of the sandmaster updated with a 1060 amp 60 esc hobbywing variant (it has 20 amps more than the original 1040) thanks for the contribution! I wonder if the sandmaster will hold up to the 1060 amp drive with lipo 2 for long periods (it's the gears I'd be worried about) but apparently there are plenty of replacement parts for this new redesign! Thank you very much for your quality content friend! My Axxe also has the 1040 shifter with the 22-turn motor.😊😊😊
I can see that no dirt got into the spur gear and pinion, I think this version is improved in such a way that it prevents dirt from getting in. (I see that the spur gear and the pinion also do not have any grease.) When you can, it would be good for you to make sure if the differential and the gearbox have any grease...regards
@@JoevsRc I don't think the gears will last 3s, at over 22 mph you can break a couple of small transmission gears, I want to get a Monster Tracker EZ series, I've seen the nexxt imported from Japan as a kit on eBay but at a ridiculously high price
This is the first of two videos describing the same gear issues released today. Thank you! I'll get a Tamiya kit as an introduction to (adult) RCing after all, given my reason reason to get this instead was a supposedly better quality.
On the other hand its hard to beat the price for 139.00 usd. Its a RTR with ball bearings, 22 turn motor, oil shocks and metal gears in the diff. I have many Tamiya cars that have their own problems. Thanks for watching!
@@JoevsRc Thank you, and I fully agree with you - that's why I wanted to wait for the Sandmaster in the first place. However, in Europe a cheap Tamiya kit (with motor and ESC) is little over 100 €, and the Sandmaster will be sold for around 170€, and batteries and chargers (with deans plugs) are more important than Tamiya / Carson ones.
Nice tear down Joe! Sweet Kyosho man ! I really like it! I’ve gotten spur gears like this before where the gear wasn’t finished thoroughly. It still worked, but your right , it shouldn’t of been let go like that. Will be watching Monday brother! Careful with those blades man! 🤣😖
That tool does come in handy when its needed. I would put this sand master in the same class as a TT02. But it has oil shocks and metal gears in the diff
The plot thickens.....the suspense.. :)
Lol we will see

My concerns are the plastic pinion and any brushed motor running 3s lol
@@zoridor16 there was grease in the diff

I can guarantee it went 34 mph today, and the gears are fine . The video will be up tomorrow
That pinion puller was sweet! LMAO about the bandaid! I have been there for sure! Looking forward to seeing that thing rip!
Thanks ! That tool doesn't get used often but when it does it's a time saver
cool motor upgrade
Thanks!
Great Upgrades Joe
Wait until you see tomorrow's video. It did not end well lol
@@JoevsRc destroyed the gears...!??!
@@ioskaioska5166 nope . Smoked the motor . The plastic gears are perfect

Nice upgrade!
Thanks! it did not end well LOL
Nice one Joe; looking forward to seeing that run!👍😊
I ought to get my Axxe out and get it back together…🤔
That video might be out tomorrow. Thanks for watching
I have an Axxe and an original sand master from 2012. I am looking for the kyosho Nexxt buggy . But I can't find one
I need one of those pinion pullers. These are a strange Kyosho. Reminds me of old toy grade RC’s

Not a fan of the plastic pinion, I thought it would have been metal now. But the quality of the spur not good. Nice plaster 🙂
The gear is holding up for now . we will see how long it last and how much power it can handle .lol
what Plaster?
@@JoevsRc The pink one 🙂we call them different things.
LOL the bandaid @@BasBoyRC
👍Then I'm curious how fast it is with 3S
The video should be up today lol
