Might also be due to the culture, a lot of countries in Asia look down on people who don't try to just suppress any mental health issues, if you look at places like Japan and South Korea they have extremely high suicide rates, a lot of that comes from society looking down on people who are open about their issues and try to seek help, not sure if it is the same in China or not but that could contribute a lot to the issue
Yeah i think it's sad that people miss out, that he had or has a serious problem. His girlfriend stated, that he had a really tough childhood, which left him with emotional problems. And as stated before, it's really frowned upon to have mental issues in these Asian countries.
I said hi to Vasilii at the last Pax West when it was the finals, he seemed super nice. Sad to see people with these problems that probably stem from something deeper.
A very important part of his career was not addressed in this video, sure he ws always an angry gamer but after being demoted in his team for having lower than required solo queue rating he spend most of his time in a basement grinding solo queue barely interacting IRL the frustration and hopelessness drove him into depression and only made him more and more angry causing him to take out his frustration on objects and eventually others
Every human being reacts to various situations vastly different. A guy could get bumped by someone in the street once and go on a rampage, another person could be tortured and abused there whole life and never do anything. It's not Vasilii's fault for the way he acted as his brain is simply wired to react to situations that tick him off like that.
the more sad thing is when you don't sympathize with someone you knew , he had some problems irl and a bad childhood so give the guy a break , his gf said he never hit her , so breaking this is a way of expressing his anger , he is a good guy he just need some help
@Big Smeat he was already rage gamer before you realized it, trust me these things dont just come randomly it takes many years to develop such rage. been there, done that.
That's not an excuse to beat someone. Thats his fault. Not getting help is also his fault. And I doubt he didnt hit his gf since she said on stream soemthing like "I just don't want other to talk bad about you and you beat me for this"

"Still what he did is wrong but he is still a person" So you're saying every person who is abusive are still "people"? That makes no sense. You're feeling bad for people who are abusive while ignoring the victims.
He seemed happy when he was on LMQ too. Although he raged and had issues, he seemed at least passable. Everything went terrible when he had family problems and went back to China. Chinese internet culture is one the most toxic as people have literally no concern with what they say. Through listening to Chinese people studying abroad in the US talk to their friends in normal language, I realized in English we sometimes include words like fuck and shit in the speech to highlight an emotion, and these words appear in almost every sentence in the young generation's everyday conversation. Imagine how bad it can get over the internet.
Actually, his first incident occurred while he was playing for LMQ in NA. He caused damage to the gaming room and multiple computers. It's worth noting that he comes from the northeastern region of China, where people tend to have a more serious demeanor due to cultural influences. He had a history of causing trouble even before coming to America. The main reason he stayed in the LCS was that it was the only place where he felt needed, as LMQ did not have any other options.
He had the life going for him too man. Getting sponsorships, a girlfriend, really good at league to go compete competitively and win thousands of dollars. All thrown away
the sound was on point. I felt kind of helpless und sad for him.. but its ironic. Vasilii was the dodge king with a calm mind at these dodge scenes but in real life he cant control his rage.
I feel really bad. I used to have anger issues, much like the ones Vasilii has. I used to smash shit, black out and yell shit at people I cared about, and get irate over dumb shit like video games. But, I got help, and I'm mostly fine now. I rarely rage anymore, and even if I do I'm conscious about not taking it out on objects or anything and calming down. But man, seeing him lose himself to his rage hits home, knowing I used to be the same way :c
