Dorothy was a great star I saw her in concert many times she touched your heartstrings her shows were occasions to cherish. Her fans adored her she never disappointed them..she was beset by problems many which she bought upon herself. She was a fighter who showed great courage. They don't make em like her anymore. Sadly missed.
I quite agree with Philjon she was a legend if you ever get to see tv footage of the great lady you will see where Dame Shirley gets her emmotions from.she truly was fantastic can we have some more please.
@philjon I was lucck to see her live between 1973 and 1990, was at her last ever concert at Brighton, a great star who deserved wider success but it seems was sometimes her own worst enemy but then it was that spirit and passion that tore into audiences hearts, she remains for me one of the greats as an entertainer amongst Tony Bennett, Peggy Lee, Vic Damone, dame Shirley Bassey etc, I wish her `lost` Glasgow recording could be traced and `Old Rowley` show produced. Bravo Dorothy!
About time we had Dot on here. I compiled the cd The Unforgettable Dot Squires which you have used at the start at this video thanks to you for posting this on here hope we can get more of the fab Dorothy.

Another welsh vocalist, Shirley Bassey, recorded the second song, as well! Dorothy should have been a bigger star like Shirley, i'm sure she inspired Shirley!
