I would assume since it's the first year it fruited might be it's too young to focus on the fruit. Our strawberries were tiny this year because we should have removed the flower, so it can focus in growing but we wanted fruit so we got small ones. Unless is the variety, it should give you better fruit next year. Also, remember you need to treat where they're dormant for leaf curl. Happy gardening ❤
