The Unicorn and the Dragon’s Treasure
In the heart of a mountain, fierce and deep,
Where golden coins and rubies sleep,
A dragon guarded with fiery eyes,
His trove of jewels under moonlit skies.
One evening, in the forest near,
A unicorn sensed a tremble of fear.
The dragon, mighty yet lonely too,
Yearned for a friend both kind and true.
With hooves like starlight, she trotted bold,
Her mane a river of silk and gold,
She reached the cavern, calm and bright,
And filled the shadows with gentle light.
“Who dares approach my treasure grand?”
The dragon growled, yet stayed his hand.
“It’s I,” she whispered, soft and clear,
“A friend to guard your trove so dear.”
The dragon blinked, with eyes of fire,
This was no thief, no dark desire.
She glowed like morning’s tender gleam,
A creature woven from a dream.
“Why help me guard what’s mine alone?”
The dragon asked in a rumbling tone.
The unicorn smiled, her voice like a song,
“To protect what’s precious makes one strong.”
Together they watched through dusk till dawn,
Each jewel reflecting the breaking dawn.
With trust that grew as days went by,
They shared secrets under the sapphire sky.
The dragon taught her the ways of flame,
And she showed him stars, each with a name.
Through storm and calm, they kept their place,
Guarding treasure in a warm embrace.
And as the years wore silver threads,
The dragon’s fears began to shed.
For treasure, he learned, was more than gold-
A friend’s true heart, steadfast and bold.
So now in legends, their tale is told,
Of a dragon fierce and a unicorn bold,
Who guarded treasure, rare and bright-
The bond of friendship, shining light.
