- I entered the FlyQuest Fight Series 25 and had a pretty good run...up until the end when I faced an Ed. I talked a bit about why zoners in general feel a bit unfair to fight in Street Fighter 6.

Use Manon in sf6, get ready to be frustrated all the time. You can be the most solid grounded 5mp checks. But one slip will cost the match.

Fighting games by their nature teach bad habits because the game doesn't force the habits, the players do. Even if something is inherently deemed as 'bad' 99% of the games out there aren't going to punish you for it (save stuff like Negative Penalty in GG), so if someone is putting a bad habit into play *and it's working* well who's fault is it really, the opponent not punishing them for it or the game for 'allowing' such behavior?
Habits in FGs are pretty weird honestly, like for every SF game doing AA DP on reaction is great, but in SF3 you can get parried if that's the only way you react to jumps.
Buffer into dRush kind of has no downsides tho, on hit it's great and on block it's good, as long as you did it with over 3 bars you're safe.
The game objectively has better and worse options bruh Ur motivated to do shit by how useful it is based on the games mechanics..
Ed in particular is a stall heavy character, flicker charge is literally a pace breaker, it’s weird to me that the character has so many special cancellable normals because the dude can literally out poke you while cornered and DR to safety

Back then low forward usually lead to a fireball or a unsafe special unless it was a wiff punish now it leads to full damage combos into specials because of drive rush cancel

Mediums buffed into DR should function just like lights buffered into DR
as a DJ main this would be a huge nerf considering his 2MP is less range than 5LK. disproportional nerf
I would apply that just to 2Lk.

I was thinking 💭 the same thing. Over aggressive attacking, mashing buttons. Jumping way too much. DI needs to be slowed down just a tad or make so two hit is enough to break it. DR is abused way too much. Moonwalking is annoying. And parry is meh, it’s not annoying until it is. Besides these complaints the game is awesome 🤩. Love ❤️ the internet 🛜 connection, online training is awesome 😎, and the coming replay training coming with Terry 😚 definitely 💯 great.
Yeah this game is one of few that promoted just not thinking because it is truly on the opponent to stop the mindless shannenigas but sadly its hard to stop them from doing because the reward for doing vastly out weighs the punishment. No offense to Noah the prodigy but his luke is a perfect example of just pure offense no thought. They stop my drive rush? Cool imma do it again. Didn't work wake up DI. No go? Time for more drive rush? Oh it hit? Bet let me proceed to take 60% off you and why'll im at your now in the corner and one touch from death.
I see it the other way around. The game punishes overthinking and hesitation more than any other SF before it. Really what’s changed is speed of thought and quantity of options you have at your disposal.
Hard disagree. Stopping a DR nets 2k damage at least with every character into knockdown. Wake up DI can be punished for 6k dmg straight up. If your opponent is "mindlessly" doing anything, you can punish it hard.
@@orhunguder4485 Yeah I wouldn’t say mindlessly doing anything is effective at all. I also think people are mistaken when saying certain players are mindless sometimes. idom is an example of a player that will complain “oh this is mindless” but if there is a legitimate intention and reason, then that is not mindless at all. Noah is example of a player that seems to be mindless by some people’s standards but in reality he understands that in this game the best defense is offense. There is intentions behind what he does when you look at it as a spectator he has clear patterns of what he likes to do. That is not mindless.

Most top players arent nearly as good as a manon or gief player
They all are the same character with different skins
Why does it look like legend and master ranked players give each other soooo much opportunities and miss so many opportunities, but like when you play lower ranked players, you can never really parry without being grabbed after the first few hits... like here they allow each other to parry 😂😂😂

I feel like they shouldn't allow for buttons to be buffered into drive rush. just like how they dont allow it for lights bc the reward vs risk is so high
It would be peak if when you drive rush buffer a whiffed button that the game trips you up and leaks you open for 2 frames.
I don't get it either, if you make it so button xx DR just comes out every time, then players HAVE to stop mindlessly doing it. Because the cast is pretty unique as it stands but until you force them to do something other than cr MK xx DR you'll never see what makes them different

“Terry is just going to do the street fighter 6” pretty much reflects how I feel about sf6 and any future characters at this point. I’m glad people are enjoying the game, I just don’t find it very fun in its current state.
I think all of us that aren't playing a meta-shoto or Gief, we are not having as much fun.
@@riczz4641I have faith when SF6 arcade edition comes out and overhauls the mechanics. That's going to be like season 4 or 5 tho so it's a long time to wait
Honestly if they just added Focus attack in exchange for drive rush as an alternate playstyle into the game I would like it a ton more. I like the mind game and will he won't he of the focus attack. Footsies is cool but it's really not fighting and more of just data analysis which is cringe since you're playing a fighting game and not chess.
Terry gonna come out in a broken state downplay is gonna start “you don’t know the matchup” “lab” despite you having to buy the character to lab prob will be top tier I guarantee like every dlc character in this game.
I think it's fun but it's very rock paper scissors at a certain point. It makes me sad we'll never see a street fighter like Street fighter 4 again where execution was important and there were so many different play styles for each character. This entire game is just drive rush, throw loop, meaty, shimmy.

Frame traps. Is the answer.. . You gotta the right idea combo them out . But zoners have the ability to create space "whiff punish" in so many ways . Zoning is lost art. I'm not talking about spamming "fireball or booms " in sf6. They also have pp (perfect party) drive impact now. It's very very frustrating.!!
But I think frame traps is the right answer to zoners.. you gotta know what to do and how to force it !!. Guessing it's not needed, in this aspect of understanding.

Low forward DR is the biggest bad habit from this game. A lot of people don't realize how hard carried they are by that button, until you punish it twice and they notice they have zero offense.

One of the many bad habits is not developing and maintaining a solid neutral game. Drive rush circumvents that aspect of the game.

Also Ed just feels like shit I feel like he should need to commit to something with Flicker / Fireball because it feels so lame, hold parry and lose 1-2 bars, 236PP in and they back step without committing and you lost the 50/50 and now they get a free PC, it’s whack some of these mechanics. Any decent Ed just makes that MU so frustrating because you can barely interact with them.
In SF3 hit confirming was a super high skill required to play at high level. Now you can just buffer and if it hits you get a combo and if block you get a mixup. An example how the games have been toned down to help new players. Why does it matter. Because the hit confirm was extremely high level and was super skillful and exciting to see. Taking that away takes away excitement from the product. No different then if they took away 3 pointer for basketball. Skill is exciting to see!
I really miss hit confirming stuff, even in SFV it actually made a huge difference if you could hitconfirm your pokes.
Like there's something really awesome to being able to have very oppressive neutral not because you had meter to dump, but because your confirms were nice, that added a lot of personality to how people played.
