The nice rubber bowls have LEAD in them! Then, the lead gets into the water, then into the chicken, then into the eggs, then into you. I used to love those bowls--especially in the winter, but then I accidentally came across a story of a family that got sick with lead poisoning. It was from those bowls. I think everyone should be notified of this danger.
@@heidigilsrud3800 yeah that’s been a big fuss over the last year. I figure plastic leeches toxins too, so I still use mine. I believe the key is keeping them filled with fresh water. That way it never really has an extended time to draw the lead into it. Just my opinion 🤷🏻♂️
I love that feeder and water container! Can you share the brand and where you can purchase? My daughter is getting married and we will be traveling out of town! I have all the containers referenced in your video but would love those!!
Hi there PCF, I have some 5.5 week chickens, 4, one has turned out to be a rooster, I'm fine with that. What are your thoughts on the deep litter method please. Thank you.
That’s a very good question. I’ve never done it so I can’t speak from experience. Personally I’m a clean freak and I like my coop to be squeaky clean at all times. There are many good videos on deep litter but I’d encourage you take take very good notes. The deep litter method has to be done properly or you’ll kill all your chickens. There MUST be a proper ratio of good bacteria vs bad. Plus it’s much easier for mites and other pests to establish themselves when you’re not cleaning out regularly. It honestly just seems safer and easier to clean weekly to me. I can walk into my coop and even sit down sometimes without getting into any chicken poop. I’ll do some research and make a video on the pros and cons once I am educated enough to actually pass along beneficial information. Thanks and I’m sorry I’m not much help!
Can squirrel get in to that feeder? They got into mine feeder n waisting my feed😰I have to go away soon n I need a feeder that not squirrel or other animals can get into other than chicken.
@@unchana5652 so far I’ve had no trouble with squirrels or rodents. It’s too hard for them to scurry up the metal pole and even if they did they’d have to go up over the base to enter the feed compartment
My neighbor and I both have chickens. We have agreed to trade off, if a vacation or an emergency comes along. Thank goodness for good neighbors!
Amen!
Bucky was really happy that you were back home!!! Great advice and a wonderful video.❤10 am
