Reminds me of the type of switching we did on Boone & Scenic Valley with an ex WSOR GP9. Sometimes an ex CNW NW2 would tag along to assist as well, if our loads for the day were 20 cars or more.
That's we're they keep the locomotive in the shed at the beginning of the video speaking of the video are you able too go here more often too watch them work and nice very video it turned out perfect
The COLT Railroad is Cool looking Small Shortline Railroad in the Mid Missouri Area And What Rail line Does the COLT Railroad Operate???? Ex Wabash Main line???? The COLT Railroad Paint Scheme looks like a Wabash Style Paint Scheme Awesome RUclips Video 📹
Why pull the first cut of tank cars at 15:00 min in, only to put them back and grab the other set at 23:00 min? They realized they pulled the wrong cut of cars or only needed a few from that first cut plus a few from the second?
How do I you get a job at a shortline railroad as an engineer? I often see ads on SM for engineer positions with the Class 1 railroads but never for shortlines. Do you have to have connections?
It does still run and just recently they announced plans to upgrade the tracks meaning it will likely get even more use in the future and potentially add new customers.
Hope the FRA doesn't watch this. Hand holds obstructed on both ends of the loco, 2 defects/violations each time a switch is thrown on camera and no marker on the rear of the train (2). Nice video however.
Different kind of GP-7. Great little railroad.
I love going on RUclips and learning more about shortline railroads. I've never heard of this one. And I love that horn
Awesome, that was fun...
Thank you...😎
Well done clear video and informative discussion. Thank you so much, Ernie of Cole Camp, MO
Parabéns pelo vídeo amigo! Abraços do Brasil 🇧🇷🇧🇷

That echo & doppler effect at 9:18 is incredible!

looks like the customer(s) are ordering specific cars. The term 'cherry picking' is sometimes used.
This road also owns an sw1200, #1
thanks! this was great

Many short line engineers had class I experience. It's easier to let the big boys do the training
Is it still active today?
Yes
Does this still run ? I live in Columbia and I've never seen it
It should. I haven't been back there since this was filmed, but I haven't heard anything bout it no longer running.
It does still run and just recently they announced plans to upgrade the tracks meaning it will likely get even more use in the future and potentially add new customers.

shut up
I would guess that this line is restricted limits, and thus does not require markers on the end of the train.
Mr. Railroad's post is a perfect example of why more and more professional railroads do not like railfans and do not like being on video.
