When it comes time to mount the mandatory front license plate on your Rivian R1T or R1S the factory process is to punch two holes in your brand new truck. This was not an option I even considered so I set out to design a better way. I gave the included license plate frame some thought and realized I might be able to use it as a base and not let it go to a landfill.
The mount I created interfaces with the Rivian included frame. Simply undo one screw, open the hinged mount and clamp it back around either side tow hook. Tighten down the included color matching hardware and you are set. Now take the frame, add your plate to it and snap one of the 3 available rows over the BEM pinch style mount. Push down and the frame will lock into place. To remove, press the textured paddle, which is hidden behind the license plate, towards yourself and pull up.
The license plate sits between the front bumper sensors and does not interfere with the autonomous functions of your R1T or R1S. It is now easy to quickly remove the frame for a car show, photoshoot, car wash or off roading and store it in the net located in the front trunk.
If for some reason you no longer have your factory R1T license plate bracket or want an even more minimalist look we offer a bracket that attaches to the back of your license plate and locks into the Tow Hook Mount in the same way.
All the mounts are designed in California and professionally 3D printed in New York. The finish is not like a typical home printer, we use a layer by layer process called Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) for all Nylon polyamide 12 (plastic) prints. These are very durable and yield a clean look.

Awesome product idea that could probably be used on a few vehicles with front tow hooks!
The innovation never stops at Brainexploder, Inc.
Can’t blame the man for having another interest looks nice man
Sometimes you find something new to be into. Plenty to go around.
I purchased this product early on. Great product and great developer. Thanks again!
Hope it’s still going strong. Thanks for the kind words.
The frameless looks waaaay better
Love this. When will you have a Gen2 R1S option??
WTF !!! AIRSOFTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT !!!! PLEASEEEEE
There is a ton of airsoft content out there.
@@BrainExploder YOUR EDITION IS UNIQUE, PLEASE MAKE MORE VIDEOS!
@@BrainExploder Just curious, are you fully out of the airsoft scene entirely or just taking a break from it in the meantime as you work on your other hobbies?
@@Bisqcateer I am never out just more interested in the car stuff but the airsoft bug can bite me at anytime. Back in 2009 or so I was out of the game for 2+ years then got back into it hard.
Any vibration at high speeds? Looks like it mounts very well and won’t move much, but one clip is concerning from the point of a single point of failure. Hell of an idea though, if I go through with my Rivian purchase, this may be the way I go.
No vibration that I can notice from the cabin even at 100 miles an hour. Took this thing on a 3000+ mile road trip at highway speeds and it’s unphased just some splattered bugs to clean off.
Now if only there were a clear way to ORDER this product. Went to the (very briefly mentioned) website and couldn’t find the product. And I can’t see a way from this video either.
It should be the first link in the description. www.brainexplodermerch.com/product-page/rivian-tow-hook-license-plate
Is there any obstructions in the 360 camera?
Not one bit nor to the front facing cam. I love the full 360 view and it remains.
What kind of truck ? I like it
It’s a Rivian R1T full electric truck.
