Say... light classical romantic songs that are used in dance concerts. Of course, 'Khamas' rightly fits into slow romantic/shringara.rasa too in classical music. "Brochevarevarura "...Really very outstanding rendition of the popular kriti of Mysore vasudevacharya by Nandini. She didn't present the Ragaalapan for this keerthanam...But the chittasworom/swarom was presented very nicely. The second one- "entani ne varnintunu shabarI bhagyam"-in Ragam Mukhaari, 22 kharaharapriya janya- Aa: S R2 M1 P N2 D2 S/ Av: S N2 D1 P M1 G2 R2 S; Thalam-Rupakam; Thyagaraja swamy kriti. Good rendition. The third one- " entani nE varnintunu shabarI bhagyam-" is in Mukhari ragam /22 kharaharapriya janya ragam [ notes: Aa:S R2 M1 P N2 D2 S/ Av: S N2 D1 P M1 G2 R2 S ] which is often spoken of as a shoka rasa, but in reality it also exudes bhakthi rasa and shanta rasa effectively. Mukhari’s allied ragas include Huseni, Bhairavi, Salagabhairavi, Kokilavarali and Maanji. Mukhari has to be enunciated with very precise swara positions and gamakas in order to achieve propriety, to avoid meandering into neighboring pastures. The notes in Mukhari include Sadja, Chatusruti Rishabha, Suddha Madhyama, Panchama, Chatusruti Dhaivata (ascent) and Suddha Dhaivata (descent), and Kaisiki Nishada. The Sadharana Gandhara appears in the avarohana and is absent in the ascent. Apart from this one.- Subbaraya Sastri’s ‘Emani Ne, other best known krities are...Neelakanta Sivan’s ‘Endraikku Siva Krupai’ ., Papanasam Sivan’s ‘Sivakama Sundari’ and ‘Saranam Ayyappa’ that are crispy portrayals of the raga...the piece-de-resistance in Mukhari is of course ‘Vaada Malare’ from Ambikapathy, Tamil Film.. glittering vocals of T.M. Soundararajan and Bhanumathy in G. Ramanathan’s music are a treat. 'Kanavu Kanden Naan’ from Sivagangai Seemai ( Tamil Film) is a lovely example of Mukhari in film music. I have read that this song in a more detailed manner in the vocal tradition was sung by late Shri Ayalore Krishnan ( who belongs to my village AYALYR in Palakkad dist). Not many would have heard this vidwan, who was the disciple of both Tiger Varadachariar and Maharajapuram Viswanatha Iyer. He passed away in 1992. The Fifth one- "dEva dEva jagadIshvara jayabhujagAshana".the composition by maharaja Swathi Thirunal in the ragam-Poorvi Kalyani, 53 Gamanashrama janya..with notes- Aa: S R1 G3 M2 P D2 P S / Av: S N3 D2 P M2 G3 R1 S. Presented a class ragaalapana...rendition... Poorvakalyani is also called as Poorvikalyani. or Purivikalyani which is a janya raga from the 53rd mELakarta gamanashrama. This is a widely rendered raga in concert platforms being suitable for all rasa bhavas including Viraha.
