Wowww! I just watching your video and it's so cool. You can talk in different looks like not only the worst side of online learning but you talking the benefits of its too. And I realize that online learning such a special experience for me as a first year student! Thank you for telling us your experience~
Ugh thank you for sympathizing with us. All the adults I talk to about this say stuff like 'this is better for you' and 'it's good cause you'll save money' and 'it's just 1 semester it's not that bad'. Thank you for understanding that it IS hard and we don't have to act like it's nothing
I’m an international student who’d be travelling to Canada in the fall. Unfortunately, that’s not gonna happen by now and I’m trying to keep focused to do well on the online classes. Hopefully these challenging times will get better. I can’t wait go to UBC. Be safe and I hope I can meet you in-person at UBC soon!!
Online courses are sick haha, you just wake up and your study setup is right beside your bed. You save a lot of time. But in-person classes feel more legitimate. Keep up the great work with your videos, I think you are doing an amazing job with these!
as a fellow sci student who just finished first yr, i would loooove to hear your study habits, note taking and study methods (not restricted to online learning but in general)
do you have any idea how to use the UBC library... it is my first year at UBC this september and i am completely lost when it comes to finding which books to buy and the ones that are available in the library For example - My psycology class has this book listed as the title(Canvas Access Code : Interactive Psychology 1/E Ebook (Llf) & Inquisitive For) _ what does "canvas access code" mean? Is it free?
There are lots of tutorials showing you how to use the UBC Library! Take a look and try to find those - they will help you navigate the website. The textbooks you need will be listed on your SSC. Each course will have a different requirement for books being that you either need or don’t need one. There are textbooks you can rent, but I’m not sure if that is through the library or not. The UBC bookstore sells all textbooks, workbooks and access codes. You can usually find exactly what you are looking for there. A key piece of info for you... you don’t have to buy your books before class starts. If you’re unsure about the Canvas Access Code you can wait and talk to your instructor about what it is and where to get it! I hope that helps a bit :)
It is still the same content. They've condensed it a little bit, and they give you all the information you would collect in the lab in a document so that you can complete the report and the online quizzes.
Hello Im a new student of UBC and I have no idea with Online classes :( Can you please explain me where and how to listen to UBC Online classes? Should I use UBC Canvas to join classes?
Classes begin the 9th! Profs will not be explaining anything on imagine day as classes will not have started yet. They will take time in your first class to explain how things will work!
thank you for that little message at the end and making all these videos! they are super helpful to all soon-to-be first years like myself!

See I love most adults... but sometimes they kind of forget how important things like this can be to us. Glad this offered you a little comfort :)
I’m going into first year science at UBC in the fall and your videos have been SO helpful!! Thank you Maddy ❤️

@@MaddyA thankyou that helps a lot :)!!!!!
i was wondering what the content of online lab classes is now like since you can’t actually experiment and be in a lab?
It is still the same content. They've condensed it a little bit, and they give you all the information you would collect in the lab in a document so that you can complete the report and the online quizzes.

All of this will be explained to you by your profs and instructors before classes begin - you should receive an email before then too!
@@MaddyA Oh thanks!
the class begins next Tuesday and are they going to explain me through an event called Imagine Day?
Classes begin the 9th! Profs will not be explaining anything on imagine day as classes will not have started yet. They will take time in your first class to explain how things will work!
Hey, you’re so charming!
