Another thing i dont understand why the car guys dont start using desert aircraft engines or dle engines much newer tech with electronic ign reed valve induction those zenoa engines are old tech
Quick question, i am realy interested in getting 1/5th scale gas off roader, but also want to build it myself, can you suggest a list of kits to self build?
The boys at DDM seem to think it's probably the best large scale RC around. I think they know more as they actually drive them, not just make countless videos on what you see
the boys at DDM are also the sole distributors for kraken now so yes they are going to say its the best large scale rc around, DDM is not out there to help us out they are there to make money.
@@rattlesnake1967 lol DDM said that way back in 2016, when they were sold by different hobby shops around the world. DDM are the sole distributor now, yes
IMHO with the right upgrades and a good driver it is as competitive as the Dragon Hammer and 5ive-T I have, but probably not a LOSI 5B, MCD 5RR, FG Leopard or the new 30 degree and Rovan buggies when available, I do not really like the DBXL so have not driven it, but as with my others it has a lot of upgrades to help with staying together. I run mainly Pro Line Blockade and Lockdowns with Hostile zero growth inserts, I also have two 50 litre containers filled with wheel tyre combos, plus the ones fitted to the six and spares also on four of them. I think the KV5 would work better on big tracks with plenty of ramps and whoops. My top three are in order the VEKTA-5, 5ive-T and Dragon Hammer, bottom three in order HPI Baja 5SC, Baja 5B, and last the DBXL.
But in terms of performance what would you say about dragonhammer and vekta5? They are both solid rear and both petrol but thats kinda it about similarities and im curious what about driving these two nobody ever made comparision focused on durability handling and driving expirience(stability mostly)?
Those guys in china that make losi and rovan and all the others are getting rich you can go to shenzen china and buy any one of them for pennies and the American sellers are not paying much more for them
Losi 5ive is still the king of out the box RTR but the King Motor X2 remains the best bang per buck 1/5th available! And I think my 1/5th Kraken Baja looks better ;) :P
X2 is a low grade 5ive..... your not getting best bag for your back when you immediately have to replace the diffs for losi diffs. Don't support thieving clone companies folks.
For me it's the pricetag of the car...rather have my 5sc with Team Chase cage and stock 32cc zenoah. it's faster then the Vekta 5 with a full mod 34cc :) but it looks nice tho.
Tbh the dragonhammer has more wheel lock. The Vekta's dont seem to have as sharp turning circle tbh. And the tyres on the vekta dont seem to grip as much
Whad about dragonhammer on aliexpress its around 1000$ rtr and its kinda close (in terms of looks) to vekta tho it have diffrent arragement on the plate.
The only problem I see is the f#%€£×¥ weight. I needs a full mod engine or big cc motor to pull that heavy ass rig. It comes out of the box with a g320 zenoah, but it bugs to move
I would rather have a fully upgraded alloy and carbon fiber Rovan 5sc with a class 1 cage for half the price of the Vekta 5. The Vekta 5 is too heavy for racing and the weight distribution is not ideal...the truck bounces too much.
it is the price that has done it. have a lot of kraken stuff cages parts etc. but this is very ££££ .. its a diff kind of truck. dont have to be a aboout racing in comps.all to there own.but alot of people dont understand how much things cost to make, the testing. time . could say the same thing about losi 5,only place to use one is on flat ground,to low. but is a diff car
Not sure what you are talking about price, new they are only modestly more expensive brand new but you do get more aluminum parts in it compared to Losi. Which I won't knock either as they are very nice cars as well. You talk about the handling but you have said you have not really ran it through it's paces properly and get a good feel for it's full capabilities. 1/5th scale are all big and heavy, if you are competing the stock motors are not even in the equations so neither can speed or stock setups. You really have to know what you are talking about if you are gonna make a video about this stuff. And by your own admission you don't. Neither a very wholistic viewpoint which keeps in mind all the other variables. I'm sorry, but this is not a useful video. You really need to get your hands on one and run it through it's paces and if you gonna comment on it's competition worthiness you had better get it properly setup and upgraded for that use before commenting on it. Saying I can't see how it would compete is really ignorant. Because clearly they do get used for it and successfully so.
Vekta was worth everything I spent on it, 5ive is awesome too

Yes I Agree..

No Money,No Kraken Vekta.....

Anthony Davis i got a 5t sir

The diffs have been addressed for quite a while now........ Don't support rip off prices and companies that put profit first folks.

£1400 roller?
Wow....
It's all about taste if you don't want to race like a pro. I'm fitting a 65 rcmax in it. It's all about fun to. 😀🇳🇱

like the vekta but love my mtxl way more lol

Did you see that beast kick 4 tires at once!? 3:00
Worth every penny!
Top hunter71 fuck yeah!!!
The Vekta is far the worst looking 5th scale rc.
How do you know if its worth it when you dont have one and only drove one once fucking hell
+Steph RC thanks for watching. Come back soon.
AWESOME VEKTA 5 WHAT A MACHINE
Not worth it for racing. Too costly. Needs the bugs worked out.
Has high center of gravity
That's what I've been saying. Also the weight distribution isn't ideal. It's too light in the back and bounces around a lot.
Its too big and heavy
I own this vekta
The Tlr 5ive b is shit to
Yeh over priced!! Looks beautiful.though honestly
