Excused! Yes, for a band like Linkin Park, that's a solo. Plus that's live. Plus that's the last song they played, like after 2hours of playing. They aren't a deathcore band so stop expecting someone like Anthony Barone or Austin Archery! Rob is great in his own league. Well, he could have been a deathcore drummer although he is a groove drummer. These guys play in specific rhythms and set tones. You like it or not, that's your choice. PS: don't call me an average LP fan. No LP fan is an average fan. We adore them.

I agree, the video you posted is a better solo. He's a great drummer, really good. But his solos don't impress me that much, they for the most part are all the same. He utilizes that snare marching sound in his solo, and doesn't change it up too much. Marco Minnemann, and Thomas Lang are both fantastic masters at their craft. They impress me!
