My expextation
1. 6 speed automatic
2. 2 wheel drive. It is not a city or family vehicle now
3. mailage comparing to other hatch backs or sedans. I cam eto know that it is less because it is an off roader
4. Possible features like ADAS, sun roof etc
5. my priority is desel. That is not available in Maruti. I have made my my mind set to accept it.
So it is not a family car and not suitable for me.

Avg HH income in Malaysia is $5700 while it is $500 in India which means it needs to be considerably cheaper here in India for it to sell. And yes, 18L is not cheap, yet !!!! And we expect value in everything. Even if we consider the high tax structure, we are still talking about a car made in India with average build, just enough features and a previous generation 1.5L petrol. That engine die itself would be past expiry now. Add all that and it is definitely priced on the higher side. Again, the clientele is not first time car buyers. So higher pricing will work. But do you think the manufacturing cost would be higher than that of a petrol Thar with a 2L engine ? I would say they will be identical. Thar doesn't have a 4x4 at 9.99L, but it has a newly developed 2L turbo petrol and more metal and added pieces. So Jimny with an old 1.5L NA engine and 4x4 will more or less cost the same to manufacture. The price you pay for Jimny is value + brand pull together.

The maximum practical tyre upgrade on a stock rim is 215 (stock tyre is 195). Tyre upgrade is not illegal as long as the tyre does not project out beyond the fender flares. Ideally an All-terrain replacemnet tyre is useful especially when the car is used for its intended off-road driving.
