You should make a tips video. Tips video are severely lacking in the community right now. I’ll list some of my tips if it helps.
I have over $40k and I’m only 6 hours in.
1. Progressing to the jet pack is extremely helpful. It helps to reach new spaces, move around the expansive world easier and quicker. (Upgrades to the jet pack aren’t as useful to go for early, it’s time consuming and only reduces the stamina it takes)
2.pink slimes aren’t worth it. Don’t make them largo’s. If you need their plorts for upgrades, just find them around the islands.
3. Explore the game and take it slow. Of course you can sleep through nights and farm crops, feed your slimes, rinse and repeat. Waiting until you have 100s of plorts to sell at a high price. But money comes naturally.
4. MIX SLIMES STRATEGICALLY tabbies only eat meat. Hens are more annoying to farm so the solution is to mix tabbies with fruit/veggie eating slimes. I mix hunters and batties. I mix rock and booms. Anglers and phosphorous slimes.
5. Extra inventory space is very convenient. 1st get the ability to suck materials. Then jet pack, then inventory upgrades.

I'm glad u mentioned about the increased tarr bc I thought I was losing my mind/misremembering how common they were in the first game. It probably doesn't help that getting the water tank has been made more difficult in this game.
Thats why i turned the tarr off on my world so they dont spawn

Me: Well that didn't take long.
Though I managed to unlock all areas and plots without the water tank to defend myself and never was killed by a tarr, it wasn't that easy either. You CAN survive just by running through them as long as they've got slimes to target first. And it also helps to be up higher than they can jump, that's the difficult part early on. You MUST have the jetpack to unlock everything. Now that I have unlocked all territories, it's time to get to making newbucks
Yea this needs to be toned down, every single area I go the slimes turn into tar, it sucks tbh, the sense of danger is great but right now it's just annoying.
This game manages to be both relaxing and stressful to me
I played it and it feels the same as the first, just different shades and new slimes and island. That’s it
well it’s still in early access so ofc there’s not a lot of new things yet

@@michaelgalban8062 Would be pretty cool to get slime rancher as multiplayer. Build a server much like you would other titles, leave it open to the public or to friends/contacts and have them progress the entire server with you. Unlock things faster. HOWEVER, The newbucks would go to the SERVER instead of the players themselves. Multiplayer is kept to the server, not to the individual. BUT I do feel like there should be a system in place that allows server administration to disperse some sort of daily 'salary' to those that play and support the expansion of the server. Just my thoughts.

I think what bothers me about all the reviews about the game is "It's pretty much the same as the first game, but ever so slightly different." and using that as a negative argument. There are SO MANY triple A games that are carbon copies of the last one (I'm looking at you, call of duty), and yet people still play the crap out of those games with little complaint. SR2 feeling like an elaborate expansion is not a negative. They had a good base game and are just expanding on ideas where they see fit. The game is totally fine stand alone. Nothing against this review in particular as it's one of the few positive ones. I'm just annoyed by the negative reviews claiming "just the same as the first one, not worth".
The fact that this game is for the most part the same as the last one is most likely one of the main reasons why it is so popular right now.
I see all the positive reviews on Steam and RUclips and I keep wondering why I feel the complete opposite about the game. I absolutely loved the first game, and I spent well over 200 hours playing it, beating it about 8-9 times, and also playing with various mods and stuff. I was so excited for the release of Slime Rancher 2, I was waiting for this game to release all summer. I bought it within the first 3 minutes of its release, and quite frankly, I was extremely disappointed. The sequel that I was waiting for for 5 years brought just 5 new slimes and a new map. The majority of the mechanics were the same, we still have all the same slimes since last time, all the possible building options and upgrades are the same, and the game has barely changed in my eyes. I don't know if it's due to my high expectations due to my extreme level of excitement, but this game has felt like a huge disappointment to me. I hope that Monomi Park will add more stuff in the future, but for now, I am sad to see that this is what we have as the sequel.
I think you're right on the money with how a lot of people are feeling. The steam charts paint a picture of people excited about the game, but giving up pretty quickly once they realize it's the same thing as SR1. I think the value is still there, I spent a lot of time just enjoying my time back in the world, but I would say if you were expecting a completely new experience SR2 just didn't deliver. I have faith, based on their blogpost outlining early access, that the team will deliver on new and innovative stuff, but it's just going to take time.

LETS GO, I beat the original slime rancher and I didn’t think there would be anything new, since I did have such a great time in the game. But now that o heard this I got so excited
I'll be honest its good but severely lacking in content, I'd recommend you wait for it to fully release
This game is great 👍 but not so good. I am gonna rant about all the things I dislike but just know I still enjoyed the game! So first of all, this feels more like a dlc rather than a sequel, to me there just aren’t enough new things to justify making a whole new game. Yes the new slimes are neat but that’s it, I feel as if there was a lot more variety in the first game and it doesn’t help that 70% of the slimes are not new. Also the ranch is way too big. I found myself not even using half of the buyable areas so they are just vacant with nothing in them. Also it is simply too big, it feels so tedious simply running from one place to the other in the ranch. In the first game it all felt a lot more cozy and compact. Also I don’t really like that the map is just three well now four island. It takes from the flow of the game and really does not feel great. Also there are no nice and big areas in the game except for where the boom gordo is. I remember in the first game that there were these huge areas exploding with color and beauty, now it is almost claustrophobic. As I said, I really enjoyed playing it but it is way too similar to the first game for it to be in fact a sequel and not a dlc or something like that.
Playing it feels like more of the same as 1, which is technically a good thing, because the gameplay is so solid :-) we just put out our own little mini review of it too
I downloaded the game a few days ago on my series S with gamepass and both slime rancher games are such a good fit for game pass with them being a pretty unconventional/unique type of game it's super nice that people can play it through gamepass since I know a lot of people would be hesitant to pay full price for a game like slime rancher but it's such a good game I absolutely love playing so far and the option to turn off the tarr is really nice since I really like playing it to relax.

I was super hyped for this sequel but always kinda cautious with joining in on early access no matter the title. But my goodness! This is the most complete EA I think I've ever seen.
Just saying, you missed a HUGE opportunity to make the thumbnail say “WORTH YOUR SLIME?”
The thing with these farming game, you think it would be relaxing but nooooo, its another job after your day one.
The question isn’t if slime rancher 2 is worth your time, the real question is are you worth slime rancher 2’s time.

We're legally required to tell you if we're being paid, so no. Also, I didn't experience a single bug or hard crash on PC, so I can't talk about something I didn't experience. Not sure how that equates to a "phoned in review" but ok.

we say it all the time in the splatoon community. SEQUELS DO NOT ALWAYS NEED TO REINVENT THE WHEEL. what do you call mario 3 mario 1.5 because it's just mario 1 with quality of life enhancements, graphical upgrades, and new locations and powerups?! What about Uncharted 2 and 3 which is just more of the same from Uncharted 1 with a few new mechanics and a new story and some new tools to play with? how about Horizon West which is a new story, setting, and with a UI overhaul but you're still killing robot dinosaurs so it's obviously just an overpriced DLC

Great review! I have a question. If I go jump in slime rancher 2, do you think the content is good enough from someone who hasn't played slime rancher 1? I read somewhere that most of the slimes and mechanics from 1 are present in 2. If so, then gameplay wise SR2 should have almost all the content from SR1? Thanks.

3:46 I think it’s also a good mention that the new over abundance of tarr is relevant to the story. The whole thing with rainbow island is that it’s unstable, almost breaking apart, and the tarr are a reflection of this new ominous situation on rainbow island being baked into the gameplay. In my opinion it’s definitely on purpose and a part of the storytelling.

My wife and I absolutely love Slime Rancher, so much that we bought a second Xbox so we could play at the same time. Hopefully multiplayer is an idea that they might consider🥲
Yes, it's Early Access, and yes, they've said there are 18 months before full release. But there is plenty of content in the game already and the really confusing thing is just how much of that content is near identical to the first game. I'm sure it's all there as a base to build upon, but it comes across as filler, with the community waiting for something new.
Should I just play the original? I only tried it a couple hours
@@AnomieDomine If you want a more complete experience then yes. You can find it for a lot cheaper, although it's worth mentioning that SR 2 is currently on GamePass (Xbox & PC).

Love playing slime rancher. Wish they put more in slime rancher 2 for early access.
It's already got more in it than the first game did at EA release...easy to forget when it's years ago.

Hard to imagine why. I'm pretty clear that the game is still great, but needs innovation.
It's been a long time since I've heard such wrong values for playtime.
I think it depends on what you're looking for out of the game. If you wanted something completely innovative and you got more SR1, just called something different, yeah it's maybe 10-hours max, but if you're new to the world, or just wanted a fresh Monomi Park experience, the playtime can stack up. I think the former is how a lot of returning players feel, and I get that, but realize this is early access and things will continue to evolve.
@@LegacyGamingUS Well, objectively the content of the game isnt really longer than those 10h. You can maybe get some more out by saying your finished when you have every upgrade that exists but that really isnt "content" so to say.
Also they were developing this game for so long and I don't get how it took 4 years to just add ... Lore? Looking at new features there really is nothing worth mentioning.

It's so easy compared to first one. I have played maybe 6 hours and have every slime and been every where. I could farm a few more for the last couple upgrades. Nothing left to do now. Also it's super easy to. Ot gets tarrs, you talk like it's a common thing that happens.
Not our fault you decided to speedrun. I have been playing for like 11 hours at a decent pace and theres still tons to do
