I really wanna try Artisans of Splendent Vale. I'm just wondering if my husband and I could commit to a campaign game. We played all but one scenario of the Missing Expedition for Lost Ruins of Arnak, but we got burnt out on the increasingly complex set-up. Also, you remind me that I really need to get my rear in gear on BGA! Summer is the busiest time in my business so I'm lacking as much time as I would like, but hoping I can get back in there soon!
Ah yes, we do benefit from having a dedicated table for campaign games so we don't have to tear down and set up over and over. We do think it's worth the effort if it fits your preferences. How was the Expedition for Arnak? I'm intrigued by that. And we're on BGA whenever you want to play a game. But no rush we'll be there in the fall too!
@@spielmill1755 The Missing Expedition was alright. It can pair with the Leaders expansion, which we don't have, but it is not required. The story is fine, but I didn't care for when it changed directions 2/3 through the campaign. I think for us set up was the main hindrance, especially at the end. It was fine, but we just prefer the base game experience.
I noticed when I was looking up Artisans of Splendent Vale that there's a Refresh Pack which will allow you to replay the campaign (Not sure exactly what that entails🤷♀️) You mentioned Caverna Cave vs Cave...How does regular Caverna compare to Cave vs Cave?
Yeah we have the refresh pack for Artisans but not sure we'll use it ourselves. I think we'll pass the game on so someone else can play it just because so much of the story will be known to us already. Unfortunately, I barely remember Cave vs Cave. It has been a while. We will be playing it soon though so we'll definitely let you know how that goes and how it compares.
We've really been intrigued by At the Gates of Loyang, but we have to wait for a reprint (IF it gets reprinted).
I didn't realize it's out of print. I think we got it not long ago so wow that must have been lucky timing!

Appreciate the feedback on it! That's helpful.
