so user friendly, right?! I just used it the other day for a bay run (kihei) and when you match it to the speed of the bumps, its just surfing the whole time!
Thanks for listening...I was hoping that it was not presumptuous of me to ramble on. I am in no way an expert, learning more everyday, but I have probably done 500+ downwind runs on foil so its more than most at this point in the game and hopefully it helps grow the sport.
Yes, gateways/wormholes same thing. Also, the "v"s I hear some people refer to as "diamonds". I need to look at the GoPro settings to see what I can do to make it look less flat. Also, this was a fairly light day for us, 15MPH average would be my guess. Bigger days show up better....
The 150 and the 110 are very different. The 150 is easy to lift, easy to control, and easy to maintain pitch. I have limited experience on the 110, but it is not easy to lift (on par with lifting the 90 HA), it is very wide, so it does not turn as well, and it is relatively pitchy. So why would you want a 110, because it is really fast, and once lifted it has great glide. The 110 is advanced and the 150 could be tuned for DW novice in my opinion. I have a new NoLimitz mast coming and once I get that I am going to check out the 110 again. I think some of the control issues can be solved with a stiffer mast. I am using the original 28" Lift mast currently. Yes, Lift has the X2 series masts, but they are thicker and slower.
@@ShepNelson Thanks for the feedback. Which tail are you running on the 150 ha x and is it shimmed? I ride Unifoil but have been considering Lift. Do you prone as well, if so what foil do you like for prone?
The 120 is definitely faster, and the 120 is still going to be my daily driver for Maui, but it is blowing 20+ on most days here. When the wind is 10-20 I would opt for the 150HAX
nice run ! i also use the 150 for all my downwind and love it, excellent glide and can still rip a few turns

Great narrative Shep! Thanks for this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome insight, we were over there for a quick trip the other day. Thanks for sharing your unreal Maui conditions 🙏
You were here last Friday? That was an epic day! Lets go again soon!
Unreal. Great to watch and hear your musings🤙🔥

Thanks Shep, it is great to hear your thought process even if the camera flattens the video a bit. Are the wormholes synonymous with gateways?

Great vid. How does the 150 compare to the 170 for downwinders. Thanks 🤙
Thanks man. I have never used the 170, but I have friends that have and they say the glide and speed is much better.
Would love to hear your thoughts on a comparison of the 150 ha x and 110 ha x

Nice. So when would you chose the 150 over 120?

👍🍺
Which size board are you using on this run? Thx
I am so sorry I just saw this. This is my 8'ft x 19' version 1 barracuda. I now use a 9' x 17'' and its stability is the same.
