I did "this" in 2017 (without AI ofc), recorded a talk about the blog post, published it on Soundcloud, and then embbed in the WP blog, around the top of the article. Dwell time boosted, especially for long articles.
Hamish I love your work and you said you don't know enough about it, but MP3 is a compressed file WAV is bigger, you can also use Handbrake which is for compressing videos but unless I am very much mistaken it will also compress audio files, also a totally free software, hope that helps
Wav files are a lot larger than mp3s. Just download it as an mp3 or convert it to an mp3 using a free online converter. The chances of needing to fiddle more with the audio file after converting it to an mp3 are small (mileage may vary depending on the length of the audio clip)
Thank Hamish, I made on based on a landing page as experiment it was Awesome, 2 people very accurately discussing the topic. This could be very powerful. I use AI to generate the sometimes-laborious JSON-LD FAQ Page schema code, as well as for Videos and Audio. Using AI just makes the task easy and fast.
The feature is not explicitly named "podcast" but rather "Audio Overview". From notebooklm.google.com, select "New Notebook", then upload your content (PDF or website link). After that, click on the "Audio Overview" option on the right side. It will take some time depending on how long the content you feed.
Hosting the podcast on your own website skips the opportunity of having your podcast on a dedicated platform (like Spotify, Deezer, Tidal, Qobuz, Apple Music), which would bring additional traffic and probably offers a widget to be included in your website...
Hey guys, just a clarification, as others have pointed out. Convert it to MP3 instead of using WAV to reduce the file size significantly. Peace!✌
Go for mp3. Much smaller
Came here to same the same thing. You can convert wav to mp3 online. It brings the total size down to 2-3mb

So, SoundCloud is a free platform or paid❓
@@KhalidAnsari25 - 3 hours of audio can be uploaded free, after that you have to pay.

Great tip though. im excited to add these podcasts to my blogs (huge thumbs up!)
Excellemt - using Soundcloud to host but the 'own' player is brilliant. Thank you
Hamish is it best for SEO have the audio file on your site or an i frame from somewhere? I would still add the text from the summary below the player.

Thanks for this, was looking at how to add "podcast" to my posts for a long time.
Is it not possible to make the podcast shorter... time it?
Unfortunately not

I followed your instructions, but never got the option of a podcast?

Such a good idea
Does this need to be uploaded directly to the site or can I host it on a podcast site and embed it? In terms of helping SEO
Both options can work for SEO, but hosting it on a podcast platform for wider reach, then embedding it on your site.
How many audios can you create woth notebooklm?
There is no limit, I think but you are limited in how many documents you can upload per notebook and the number of words for each document.

Like sound cloud?
@@teknonotice yes, exactly!
I am just doing this 😂
Thank you so much
Was the quality absolutely terrible when put on the site?
It will not as long as you don't convert it on a very low quality format.
