I think walked up in the UK is gaining in popularity based on my experience on my trip in October. Best wishes for a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year. Give Matt and Sarah a hug for me.
Thanks for your comments, more people are discovering walked up shooting in the UK but it is not easy finding shoots that are willing to accommodate a small team that only want 10 - 20 birds but over the years I have managed to find a few days each season. Looking forward to a few more days in 2024. Cheers Nick
He is and he is producing some really nice pups…I have a daughter from him and if all goes to plan she may make an appearance in the next video 🤞 Cheers Nick
Thank you …it should be fun and although most of the handlers on this video are my training clients they are all so supportive of each other and that is how it should be. All the best for 2024. Cheers Nick
Thank you for another wonderful video. I was able to get the entire week of Christmas off and spent it following my labs all over the country side. Look forward to your videos more than any others.
Thanks for your kind comments….it won’t be long before the season is over but once again we have made some good memories . All the best for 2024. Cheers Nick
That was fun to watch, good work by all and I love seeing the young dogs succeeding and the excitement of the handlers, have a great 2024, cheers Howie
Thanks Howie and all the best to you and the family. It is really a privilege to help people and their dogs to achieve their hopes and dreams. Many of my clients would never have the opportunity to get their dogs into the shooting field as most of them are new to the gundog world….It gives me such pleasure to see their reactions when their dogs pick their first warm bird or get the first flush. Cheers Nick
Thanks for your comment. I guess it is a matter of choice with the running in, there is a view that if the bird is a runner they get on it a lot quicker but as I try and get up on the rabbits a few times each year I do like mine to stop to the flush. It is challenging when you are using a dog in the beating line, picking up and shooting over them….truly a jack of all trades . Cheers Nick
Excellent dog work .... the pups were killin it! Happy New Year to you and yours Nick. I actually have some catching up to do on your channel .... take care🐕👍🏻✌🏻
Hi Dave, happy New Year to you as well. The young dogs did really well and there were some good memories made that day….enjoy catching up and got a few more to come! Cheers Nick
Thanks for your comments, I think the running in issue stems from doing quite a bit of beating with the dogs, they flush and carry on hunting. They both know their job and just needed a bit of refresher training! Mind you…you could be right each time I missed they may be thinking “bugger he’s missed again I think I will try and catch it myself!” Cheers Nick
Hi Dave, it has been a very wet mild winter, I have never known it to rain so much and I like many people are sick and tired of the mud. Hopefully we will get a cold snap before the end of January when the shooting season finishes ….I even think the spaniels have grown webbed feet! Cheers Nick
Absolutely loved watching the Houndies do their thing. Great video !

Percy is such a stud. Cockers here in the US just aren't the same.
He is and he is producing some really nice pups…I have a daughter from him and if all goes to plan she may make an appearance in the next video 🤞 Cheers Nick
Great video that black and white springer he's going to be a handful. Love him 😂
He is in fact a cocker….a son of Percy…but you are right. I have Twig his sister and 🤞 she will be as good. Cheers Nick
Great video Nick , so much more enjoyable watching the dogs work rather than a line of guns taking driven birds !!
Totally agree….and each and every flush, shot and retrieve will be remembered. Cheers Nick
I just love the friendship you guys have on hunts. Here's to a great 2024!

Nice, I appreciate seeing how this type of hunting is done. Usually it’s alway driven shooting videos in the UK. Thank you for sharing!
Terrific video.
Have a great 2024 👍
Another good video mate 👍🏼👏🏼

Happy new year! and thanks for watching. Cheers Nick
Love vidos
Very nice, mine will run in but the youngest one swam 60 yds in the River Blackwater to pick a widgeon so they have it in them.

Happy new year! Cheers Nick
Nice one nick 👍
Thanks 👍
👍👍🦅🦅👍👍great video
Thanks 👍
Great video. Do you think that not shooting as well for a few weeks prior might have unsettled the dog & been a factor in him running in to shot?

That bit of swampy thicket didn't look like much fun to walk thru. Has it been a wet season this year over there?
