Makes you appreciate where you come from and you don't have to have more to be happy. Life is worth having the simplest things and loving the beauty of what nature provides.
I just found your channel, I love your enthusiam and hopefully more young people of color will see your post here in an effort for them to possibly volunteer and to leave America to see our world in a different light. Thank You for your service sister
This is so awesome. I’m currently serving in the the Navy, sparked an interest in joining the peace corps but feel like I should maybe go to school first ? This just looks so awesome
Haha don't feel bad, I can't take credit for anything in my garden! The rain and rich soil just make me look good lol. Be proud of your two tomatoes!! And yesss, these Malagasy artists are my favorite!
Omg this was so nice that you were able to assimilate while being there. To me that’s the best way to really understand another culture. I’m here for more!!!!!!
Thank you!! & I 100% agree! Assimilating to the culture not only brought me closer to my community members but it also allowed me to adapt to my new environment a lot easier.
This is so cool! I would love to see how you cooked that rice and other meals. Also, I'm curious to learn more about your menstrual care practices. I'm locked it!
Yes, all volunteers were evacuated in March. Peace Corps is currently working to recover posts and ensuring the safety of volunteers and host country nationals before sending new volunteers out.
Thanks for sharing this with us, Syd! I honestly cannot wait to see more! What was the cultural transition like for you? I am all the way tapped in sis!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!! Ooh, that's a good question! Maybe I'll make a video on it :) On a quick note, the transition was honestly easier than I thought it would be. Malagasy culture is very welcoming and hospitable so they always made sure I felt at home!
I absolutely love your energy! I literally could watch you all day! Your humbling spirit is intoxicating! And to be as beautiful as you are. Who voluntarily lived your life, for two years, as what looks like a couple of steps below a minimalist! Is very sexy to me! Where have you been all my life? “You’re Perfect” Marry Me? Lol just kidding😁 But seriously you have me thinking about joining the Peace Corps now! 😁Great video! 😁👍🏽

Is your family also from the U.S. or are they caribbean descent. I know black Americans have a range of looks but you do have a half Asian look.
