Colombian pro tip: smash the panela and put it in cold water, let that combine till the panela is all gone, and add some lemon or lime. Serve with lots of ice and enjoy ♥
I'm Colombian and this is the only video I've seen where they actually try authentic snacks (except for the gansitos those are Mexican but we eat them a lot here 😅) Traditional savory meals are: -yuca con suero ( yucca with serum, which is a kind of sour cream) - bandeja paisa (it's a plate that consists of arepa, fried egg, chorizo, ripe plantain fries, white rice, red beans, chicharrón and avocado) - Ajiaco (chicken and potato soup with sour cream on top) - Arepas (they can be filled with a lot of things, like chicken, meat or sausages, but they are traditionally filled with cheese) -Pandebono (it's a popular kind of bread)
23:32 Funny you mention a bike ride, because bocadillos have long been associated with Colombia's professional cyclists, who compete on the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia and such.
Colombia sounds like my kind of country !!!!! I love coffee flavoured sweets and coconut flavoured sweets !!! This was an amazing box !!!! :) Another awesome video :)
Hahah I knew it! It's actually funny as an Italian, because pollo means chicken in Italian too, and we pronounce it the same way they did in the video. But I knew the double "LL" had a different pronunciation in Spanish, I didn't remember if it sounded like a "Y" or like a "J". Thank you for the information, I like to learn new things.
OMG this made me so happy to see the Notification specially because I was born in Colombia 🇨🇴 and most of this snacks are my favorite. I specially at the “Pollo” chicken chips when I was little. ❤️
First time watching you, I loved the video. I’m from Colombian and I’m really proud of this kind of videos embracing our food and culture. Also I want to say that Colombiana Soda we often mix it with beer 🍺
Colombian here! It was so exciting to see you guys trying and liking so many of our snacks...impressed by how much sweet you can handle LOL. For traditional dishes, our food is hearty, meaty, carby and delicious! You have to visit Colombia and try :) love watching you guys, keep making amazing content :D
I'm from the coast of Colombia and I loved your video!! It reminded me so much of my childhood. Many people have mentioned Arepas, Ajiaco, etc... but in the coast, Mojarra frita with Patacón is very vey popular. Mojarra frita is a type of fish that's fried with nothing more on it than salt, pepper and garlic, and gives it a very nice crunch. Patacón are fried, green or yellow plantains with a pinch of salt on them. They're crunchy and delicious.
Some of our traditional meals are: Ajiaco (soup with chicken, 3 different types of potato, arracacha, corn, frenchweed and you can add capers, cream and eat it with rice and avocado) Bandeja paisa (Rice, Beans, Pork Belly, ground beef, sweet plantain, avocado, chorizo and fried egg) Sancocho (soup made with chicken, beef, fish or chicken beef and pork; plantain, potato, cassava, corn and cilantro, you can eat it with rice, avocado and some people eat it with banana)
I really wanna see you guys do a best of British series, like classic best British crisps, classic best british biscuits and so on. Pickled onions space raiders 🤘🏼

THE LIMON CHIPS WE HAVE HERE AND I LOVE ANYTHING LIME FLAVORED. JORGE HAS YOU GUYS SET FOR A WHILE ON SNACKS....YOU SHOULD HAVE A PARTY AND THEME IT 'AROUND THE WORLD' AND HAVE SNACKS FROM ALL THE PLACES YOU STILL HAVE FOOD FROM. IT WOULD BE FUN AND TASTY!!! WELL THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE VIDEO WAS GETTING TO SEE BOB....LOVE HIM SO MUCH AND WISHED PENNY HAD COME IN TOO. DO YOU GUYS HAVE PENNY'S MOM? WHAT KIND OF DOG IS SHE? MAYBE LHASA APSO? THEY ARE ADORABLE! Anyway....it has our dog, Maggie, in it....just in case you would like to see our fur baby. OK...LOVE YOU GUYS AND HOPE YOU HAVE AN AWESOME WEEKEND!!!! HUGS~JANE
love your video!! I grew up in Colombia and loved watching you guys enjoy the snacks from my childhood. If you are serious about trying savory food, there is a delicious Colombian restaurant in London (elephant & castle) called "lenos & carbon"
Jorge que lindo regalo. Y muchas gracias por introducir nuestra Colombia por dulces a los chicos. Maybe now they will book a flight and experience Colombia. Add music, the people. Smiles, dance, culture. They will love it and want to keep coming back.
Thanks to Jorge for share our favorite snacks, this actually the only video on youtube that have the aunthetic snacks from our country. Excellent video!!!!!
I went to Bogotà for a week and I loved it. I tried all the different foods, candies, etc and loved the whole experience! This brought me back. Thank you so much! You should both go, you would love it!
I loved loved loved this video. You guys were super respectful and kind. I really appreciate people from all over the world try our snacks with no judgments, because we all eat different stuff. Sending love 💕
Yayy!!! I’m glad to see a box from a South American country. Colombia is near where my moms from which is Perú. When I lived in New York, I lived in a Hispanic neighborhood so I’ve tried some of these things before. I love the Avena drink! I would get that at a supermarket called Food Bazaar. The gandidos and the marshmallow cookie with coconut toppings I would get at a bodega a block from my house. The Panela can be boiled in water until it undoes itself completely and then serve it with ice/refrigerate it and it’s a very refreshing drink especially in the summer. Also it’s pronounced dul-se de le-che(pronounce that last e) and queso is pronounced keso. I ❤️❤️❤️ this video! Thanks to Jorge for sending so many different things for you to try. I can’t wait for the next video!
Ahh yaay 😀 that drink was so nice wasn’t it! I always produce that wrong. I need to practice that! Thank you for the help! So pleased you loved this one Klara ♥️♥️♥️
Gansito and Sponch are actually from Mexico. Marinela belongs to Bimbo, the biggest bread maker in the world. I've seen gansitos in Colombia called Piolo
We have Gansito too Anton4380. This is a piece of Wikipedia about Gansito: "There is also a very similar snack cake in Colombia with the same name, manufactured by Ramo. However, unlike the Mexican version, the "little goose" mascot has not changed over the years. The Mexican Gansito is sold under the name Piolo to distinguish the two."
I love caramel , coconut and milk chocolate so I’d be excited to try a lot of those treats, my tum is growling in anticipation.🤣😂 I wish you could get cake by the slice, everyone in the family are chocolate fiends for cheese or regular cakes but I love white or butter flavour ones . I rarely get to indulge though as I’d have to eat the whole cake myself, my birthday is coming up so hopefully they will go to a good bakery where they can get a nice big slice. My favourite cake to make is a white firm cake flavoured with a hint of anise with buttercream icing flavoured lightly with some rum, covered in shaved white Belgian chocolate and sprinkled with sweetened coconut. When I make it for special occasions to take to a party, or barbecue there aren’t even crumbs left. 🤣😂. I bake it in a funnel pan and fill the hole with extra icing as it’s only one layer. I may have to make it myself for my birthday and freeze half for another time. I’m craving it now.🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Each region in Colombia have got their own tradional sweets, snacks and food. My coutry is so diverse in many ways and you guys just tasted few things. Thanks for that good video and show the world a little bit about what we eat and drink in Colombia.
Hi guys! Bing whatching your channel in quarentine! You guys asked if guava sweets are expensive or not here em South America. In Brazil, where i live, there are not expensive and its a kind of tradicional so tends to be more cheap then heavly industrialize sweets. Also I wanna to point out that Doce de Leite (or Dulce de Leche in spanish) is not exectly caramel. As you know, caramel is made with melted sugar and sometimes is added milk and butter later. Doce de Leite in other hand, is milk that is cook to caramelize. So its similar but different. Did you recive a brazilian box yet? Thinking about sending one for you. Knowning that Kate has alredy been in Brazil, this could be interresting.
The soda that you tried is my favorite every time I go to the Colombian restaurant here in South Carolina I get me a “Colombiana” is the best. “ Arequipe” is my mom’s favorite and she will fight anyone for it 😂
This was my favorite of your trying videos because there was nothing in there that was familiar or similar to anything I’ve seen here in Oklahoma. It was really cool seeing the different flavors of snacks and candy
i felt so validated by this video im actually so happy right now i saw the bon bon bum lollies and i litteraly have some in my room i am half colombian half british and i live in england now but i miss dulce de leche so much and i really want to go to colombia this summer. but im so glad you liked all these sweets it made me feel so proud
From Colombia, nice reaction to this great gift from Jorge. I am sure you can enjoy our food, and other delicious stuff from this diverse country when you have the opportunity to visit us. 🇨🇴😁
I'm really happy both of you enjoyed and liked our candies, hope some day you can come and visit; btw colombiana is my favorite soda; also Colombia is a very diverse countire, so we have different traditions, slangs, different accents and yes we do speak spanish; finally you should try when you visit Colombia, "Bandeja Paisa" a traditional meal in Medellin (a beautiful city, with beautiful people as every other city in Colombia) and thank you for trying our snacks and candies
Yes, you can get most of those snacks in the Boston area; head over to East Boston or down to Central Falls, Rhode Island a bit further away for Colombian markets that carry most of those products, and bakeries where you can get fresh torta negra and other treats.
Omg! there are so many artisan snacks. Every region in Colombia have their traditional savoury dish. It’s amazing. I love ajíaco which is a soup from the capital city. 🇦🇺🌸🥰
Irn Bru are releasing 4 flavours in the summer but we only get to chose which 2 make it to stores! There’s candy floss, tropical, marshmallow and ice cream!
We loved making that hot chocolate in christmas and having it with buñelos and yes cheese. Also chocoramos where my alltime favorite. Traditional dishes are bandeja paisa, ajiaco, mondongo, sancocho and I really like arroz con pollo. Im sooo hungry now. I no longer live in colombia but when my mom goes she always brings these.
Hey guys, great video! I have two comments: (i) Dipping achiras in the caramel spread will make a whole country go WTF! (ii) Take that can of Colombiana and mix it with 2 cans of beer and you have yourself a "Refajo" (very refreshing drink). Add 1/2 liter of "Aguardiente" to the mix and you have a party! Take that whole spiced mix to the beach and you have the beginning of your own reguetón music video! Cheers!
I looove this video, their reaction was awesome, I watched other videos but when they taste the snacks say unbelievable things, like gross, disgusting, but they no need to say those kind of words. Amazing
Now you are ready to k ow the beautiful country Colombia. I recommend you Bogotá, Medellin, Barranquilla, Cartagena. My very favorite is Medellin but the other ones are beautiful too. . Obviously you are not from USA because of your accent. I love your England Accent.
The savory traditional food Really changes depending on the city, but some are arepas, basically like thick corn tortillas so delicious with butter and cheese. Some bandeja paisa, that is a big plate with beens, rice, meat, chorizo(which is a type of sausage) with fried plantain or Maduro and avocado. Also there’s this soup in bogota called ajiaco which was chicken and a thick broth made with potatoes and a thing called guasca which gives it the flavor you also eat it with rice. And like that many more depending on the city you go to we are very diverse ❤️
The supercoco came in one of my Universal Yums box. It's made from 100% coconut, like the meat, the water and the coconut milk till its cooked to caramel stage. The Supercoco came in lots of ways too. And you can purchase samples at Amazon.com too.
Hi guys!! Another great video!! My best friend is from Columbia, when she would go home to visit ( we Live in Lancaster ,Pa she moved to the US in 1982) she would always bring back goodies from her home town and I Love the Jet regular chocolate candy bars and all of the colorful pictures of all the different things on them. I Loved their lollipops as well. She brought my husband and my mother Columbian coffee and they told me that it was the strongest coffee that they ever had in their lives, and my mother said just one cup gave her the jitters for hours after. So needless to say they one drank one cup a day!LOL! I don't care for coffee but I do like the smell . Can't wait for when WTF starts back up! Love You two!! Hugs from Lancaster,Pa.💓😘
Hi my name is Sofia and I was born in Bogota, Colombia. I am so happy you guys like our treats. There are many different parts in Colombia and they have different accents and main dishes. Our food is all mainly what we grow and it’s all pretty organic. Coffee and coconut are very popular. Las achiras are mainly eaten with coffee. With la panela you can make aguapanela. You put the panela with water and you boil it and you can also add a little of milk after it boils. Colombia is a beautiful and unique country and it makes me very happy that people can learn more about my home.
The sponch and the gansito’s are the only things I recognized because they are in Mexico too, and are also some of my favorite cookies, gansitos also makes a snack cake that are really good if you freeze them first, my husband’s favorite way to eat them
This is great. My parents are Colombian and I love everything you guys tried. I’m glad you enjoyed everything. A traditional Colombian dish is BANDEJA PAISA. Give it a try if possible
I really liked this video!! and actually here en Colombia cyclists use bocallido while cycling to obtain energy. I enjoy that you really liked our candies and sweets ..
Omg achiras and arequipe! Omg lol you don’t break an oblea in half! I love how they assess the snacks. Yes hot chocolate then add the achiras on top. Omg no not panela and hot chocolate together! Lol haha this is great to watch. If I bought all those snacks in San Diego it would be around 100 dollars. Love the puppy.
I love you got mostly real Colombian treats, and I'm amaze you enjoyed almost everything! I really enjoyed the entire 42 minutes of video! Regarding the hot chocolate, I hope you used a liquidiser.
I'm from Uruguay in South America, but I live in New zealand now and even tho the food you guys tried is a lil bit different to what they have in Uruguay it made me miss it. The foods are amazing, especially the sweets. It's been awhile but this definitely took me back. 😊
That is such an amazing assortment of snacks ! George really packed a lot of fun in that box ! 🎁 🎉 🎈 I wonder if I could find any of the items at Cost Plus World Market in California . Thank you for the great video Kate and Alex . 🍀🌈💰
Colombian pro tip: smash the panela and put it in cold water, let that combine till the panela is all gone, and add some lemon or lime. Serve with lots of ice and enjoy ♥
omg so true
I confirm!
like a homemade guarapo
Or have it hot with lemon in the winter months and it's good As a warm drink or good when you have a cold
Jorge is very nice and generous for giving those snacks.
Jorge has so much money if he can spend it buying all the sweets and sending them
I'm Colombian and this is the only video I've seen where they actually try authentic snacks (except for the gansitos those are Mexican but we eat them a lot here 😅)
Traditional savory meals are:

I was born in Colombia my mother was Colombian but I was raised in America it’s so weird that could have been my life
I agree!
You're making me really miss my grandma ❤️❤️❤️👏
Don't forget empanadas! Colombian style empanadas are by far the best.
I am Colombian to and my mouth started watering
"how much would it cost in colombia?" youd be actually surprised, that whole box could cost les than 30 US dollars
The person shipped it from the USA so that was already priced up. Then shipped to Europe... $$$ this was a very kind gift.
I'm Colombian and loved this video! Everything you tried is what I grew up with 💓 Arequipe is life!
I'm from Colombia and i'm dying to make u guys a proper cup of hot chocolate, like a real grandma recipe... you'll love it i swear.
Yes, its the best hot chocolate! Our hot chocolate is the best
@@beigekitten89 with cheese

Candy and foods are nice but eeehhh, wouldn't wanna live here
"Poyo" is the pronunciation of Pollo - but so cute to hear it pronounced as written. 🤣 Just as in tortilla, it's "tortiya."
Hehe thank you for letting us know Kate 😀
Or "pocho" or "torticha" in Argentina and Uruguay...to make it even more complicated ; )
or "poio" or "tortiia" it's called yeismo, ye and elle sounds different.
Or pojo. Hahah Actually there are several ways to pronounce the LL and Y sounds in Spanish depending the region.
Hahah I knew it! It's actually funny as an Italian, because pollo means chicken in Italian too, and we pronounce it the same way they did in the video.
Cheers!
im Colombian and you have gained a new follower
I am from Colombia I enjoyed every minute of this video
Thanks Jorge for providing us with authentic Colombian snacks.
The supercoco came in one of my Universal Yums box. It's made from 100% coconut, like the meat, the water and the coconut milk till its cooked to caramel stage. The Supercoco came in lots of ways too. And you can purchase samples at Amazon.com too.
Guava is sooooo good! I also want to try all the water & caramel things. Great vid as always
Colombia* not Columbia!!!
@@anime-tm6dh sorry didn't mean to offend, not that great at spelling
it is not a coconut shell, that is something called TOTUMA made from the fruit of the TOTUMO TREE, you can use it as a multipurpose container
The Mani Moto snacks, from the description, remind me of the Philippine snack Nagaraya.
awesome you took the time to taste some products from my country.
Enjoyed watching this! Looks delicious. My Mom went to Colombia several years ago. Love Plantain chips.
Thanks Amy! Glad you enjoyed it. That’s awesome. We would love to go one day!
@@ThisWithThem You are welcome. She went with a church group (at one of our old churches) that had missionaries from Colombia.
I believe it’s dulce pronounced with a soft c. It like dull say sorta but together. 💜
Achiras are cheese crackers , I love those things yummm. Wow what an amazing box !
Btw guava and caramel is super popular in Colombia 🇨🇴!! We have candy , pastries and bakery goods with guava and cheese! DELICIOUS!
Im super hungry now. Ive tried all these, yum. Proud to be colombian.
Love these videos.
Thank you Kristen 😀😀
Achiras with arequipe is the best combo😍
Wow, this was a next level box. Guava and Passionfruit ( known as Granadilla here) are also very popular in S.A. as they grow well in the heat
Passionfruit is the known here in Colombia as Maracuyá which has a sour flavor. Granadilla has a sweet flavor.
Late again but what a party, great that so many of the snacks were not familiar, never tried guava but going out to find some ❤️
Fun candy video all those sweets look yummy
I could eat all of that box in one day!!! So yummy.

The soda you guys had la Colombiana is my fav and I drink it when I eat a empanada or Bandera paisa
So pleased to hear you enjoyed watching this video 🥰
So glad that they liked the achiras, one of the best thing in the world
I'm from Uruguay in South America, but I live in New zealand now and even tho the food you guys tried is a lil bit different to what they have in Uruguay it made me miss it. The foods are amazing, especially the sweets. It's been awhile but this definitely took me back. 😊
Ah no way! Well hopefully it brought back fond memories ☺️
