I live in the Nob Hill area. I always pass by this mansion. I didn’t know the history of this place. It’s a beautiful place! SF is always adaptable and resilient. Thank you for sharing this story! ❤

Never visited but found this to be most interesting and enlightening . Old mansion s and estates are so beautiful and the history of them and those wealthy people who live in them are often intriguing to hear and learn about . Love the content and history lessons that accompany your videos . Thanks so much !! ❤❤😊😊

The photos are confusing it looks like you are showing the mansion on knob Hill and then another building that is used for a school and social events. They are not the same buildings.

At the end there, they've mixed up the two Flood mansions.

Thank you for this wonderful and informative video. I live just a few blocks from this historic old place. So great to see it still standing and looking the same. Not thrilled with what goes on inside, but that’s not the point.

Looking at some pictures of the 1906 earthquake it seems that nearly all the grand mansions on Nob Hill were wiped out. The term Nob is a shortening of the Indian word nabob or nawab, a term used to describe a wealthy, influential person. Stock manipulation seems to have played a part in Flood's amassing of his considerable fortune.👍

Great episode as usual but why did you stick clips from The Godfather in here?

some great history, but the last several minutes is utterly incorrect - the building is not open for "special occasions", weddings, or festivals, etc. since it's a private club and never open to the public.....and the common youtube-y habit of using nonsensical stock photos and video from utterly unrelated subjects is silly and distracting.......it's very easy to use authentic photos and historic video and still keep it interesting....Clint Eastwood at 2:45????....the Godfather??!!.....c'mon!!

      I agree!
I get so tired of the lack of effort to make these things look coherent. That cobbled-together look is not enjoyable at all, and makes me abandon the video once I can see what’s being done. Videos produced this way insult our intelligence and are confusing to watch.

You have mixed 2222 Broadway with the Pacific Union Club? Maud Flood donated Broadway to the Madames of the Sacred Heart and it is still the leading Catholic high school. It rents the building out for nightly events to support the operation.
