I had just remembered your name again after so long. Your sound never left my head but I couldn't remember the name of the band until today just to find out you guys parted ways years ago...thank you for the memories with this whole album! ❤
My Ticket Home is a diamond in the rough. With bands like Stray From the Path, Sick to your guns, Beartooth, and others, allot of really good bands get passed over. Glad I saw these guys on the Stray From the Path tour. If you haven't seen them live you need to. Their CDs are good but live they sounded great. Dudes bass tone was sick and they all put on a powerful show.
It's been 3 weeks since I last listened to my Post-Hardcore playlist and I am already craving for it again. This song's a fucking motivation to start listening to that playlist again aside from early-mid 2000 post-hardcore bands. Thank God for this!
I would usually say that this is generic metalcore but something interesting happened here: I only got to now this band because of their song "Hot Soap" which is effing awesome nu-metal. And interestingly I can appreciate this song more now. I kinda like it.
They are one of the bands which started what we now know as "generic metalcore" or "risecore" and that's why this is so amazing. You can try to copy any of them old bands but roots always stays and will sound much better with time imho especially when you knew them for years and been through thousands of generic, repetitive and overproduced bands.
They're so amazing live! I actually thought, as I was walking into the venue Tuesday night, "wow, who's playing the old school grungy metal?" only to realize it's a band preforming. I was in awe as I waited in line to get Nothing More merch.
Don’t ever forget, the clean vocals aren’t this douche in the video, that’s Sean mackowski singing, a legendary clean vocalist for his time, was different than the others, wasn’t just a high pitched smooth voice, he had vibrato, and wasn’t afraid to hit the lower notes.
It's so dope coming back to these songs, man. I grew up with their guitarist, Derek. Ever since I was a toddler. Coolest dude ever. If you ever see this bro, it's dom lol. Hmu😂
The vocalist is screaming his lungs out about something that matters to him. He's not trying to trendhop and sound like the latest band.? He just sounds like himself and I have serious respect for him for that.
I love how all of the Rise Records music videos are of them jamming out in random locations :P i love wathcin my favorite bands just jam out super hard
I don't normally leave comments, but I did before on this video, so yeah. When I first heard that breakdown... I knew their music was distant for greatness.
Cleans are bad, bored about halfway through with all the chugs, the new stuff is miles better. Breakdowns are finally going out of style, it's coming back to riffs now. Took long enough.
Ima agree on what BigdubbtheGreat and Jeffery McClelland said. Breakdowns will eventually become outdated reasons I can understand that breakdowns get the fans going and fired up but if you keep repeating an album with the same thing over an over again that isnt getting far anymore you might as well ask yourself a few questions. Very soon breakdowns will be used less and more riffs will be added bands must expand their minds more instead of what people only wanna hear thats the only way bands will get far.
***** well they made it sound sick and heavy...actually these guys and mmf have the heaviest breakdowns on my ipod right now...you know before the new album
***** i totally agree that their new album is good, although i prefer the last more , but i thought the main reason why they changed it up like that was because they lost their drummer, bassist, and guitarist(who is with Beartooth now i believe)...but sorry if i offended anybody :/
the new stuff is waaaaaaaaaaaaayy much Better than this, Although i liked this album, i think the new one is much better, reviving the Nu-Metal, which is one of favourite genre :D
Nope, they were metalcore, they became hardcore. Just because they use a lot of 90s visuals and grunge aesthetic, doesn't make them nu metal. They call themselves Puke Rock because it's a play on Punk Rock, because they're a modern hardcore punk band.
***** They call themselves Puke Rock because they don't want to get stuck with some shitty label of a genre like you're trying to do haha. Heard Nick say it himself in an interview.
So i just found out about like 8 new bands because of riserecords and have been impressed by everyone....so i clicked on these guys. havent watched the video yet but i can already tell this is going to be brutal because of the EXTREME four count at the beginning...he almost broke a stick
My gf used to like this band back then, and even at the time i thought they were pretty boring. The same goes to the other bands in the scene between 2012-2019. Also, nice profile pic. Deja Entendu is one of my favorite albums of all time.
@@hxytxwnrx I love post-hardcore and metalcore myself, but this band right here? Great example of a band that fucked up. Way too down tuned sound, too mechnical production, way too many chugga chugga moments, bland and went too heavy for their own good imo. Haha hope you told your ex that too! "Ey I like this kinda music, but this particular band is just plain boring" Thanks, man! Great album indeed. Lot of memories connected to that one.
@@L.D.1 post-hardcore is probably my favourite genre and i used to listen to a lot of metalcore back then, but i just couldn't stand bands like My Ticket Home, Scarlett O'hara, For the Fallen Dreams and all that kinda of forgetable stuff. Rise Records produced a lot of generic bands at the time, almost all of them had the same sound structure, that's why 99% of them didn't became sucessful and became forgetable even for people who used to enjoy them back then. Haha we're still together bro, the reason why i came here yesterday was because we were talking about shitty/generic bands that we used to listen to, and i brought My Ticket Home into the conversation. She told me she had no idea why she used to listen to this band. LMAO.
Best Risecore band that never really became sucessful but had such an amazing sound and probably influenced a lot of other artist was Of Machines. So sad they lasted so little compared to these other bands, their sound aged really really well.
The band themselves knww, that's why they changed genres one year later in 2013. Well it's still somewhat metalcore, but more Nu, and I thought it was done well, and less generic
As someone who saw MTH indirectly at a concert last Fall, Strangers Only was the only album I had heard up from them until this point. Comparing this to something like Hot Soap is insanity. Just got back from a concert. I really only went for Crown the Empire, but this band really left an impression on me. More so than Like Moths to Flames.
Such an amazing song. You can easily tell how much emotion is put into this song and video. My Ticket Home NEVER fails to amaze me. They have such a huge influence on us, Music and Stage Presence-wise. We will always be fans! And maybe you guys will be fans of ours?
Metal and rock were HUGE in the 70s. Has anyone else noticed we're coming full circle? Especially with styles and trends. It's time for rock and metal to come back! Metal heads unite!
This band looks like they have so much when they play. It's good to see a band that plays for the joy of music! You guys rock! and so do Attack Attack, and Asking Alexandria! :p
here in 2020 to reflect on simpler times....
2023
Nice dog homie.
"This is a milestone. This is the death of my love. Make me believe again. Make me believe I'm enough." Such awesome lyrics!
Good to see Michael Cera is doing well in the music business
His mouth is a perfectly symmetrical rectangle at 2:06
O my God ur a genius
i really like old MTH. but i LOVE new MTH. overall, the band is amazing, and are very unapreciated
same most bands goes poppy in the metalcore/post hardcore genre but this group became somewhat "cane hill" with the nu metal/nu metalcore
Fucking song is still a beast
I had just remembered your name again after so long. Your sound never left my head but I couldn't remember the name of the band until today just to find out you guys parted ways years ago...thank you for the memories with this whole album! ❤
Here on Valentine's Day, 2023. Miss this band so much. ❤️
Still here
That is one of the grooviest, nastiest, and crowd bouncing-ist breakdowns I've ever heard.+1.
I wish they were around to illuminate today's replicas of each other. Legends.
seeing these dudes tonight. stoked.
After all these years I still remember the lyrics to this song \m/

Its the smaller bands that sometimes stick to you throughout your life. You are nostalgic and we never forgot about you in 2024❤
Glad they realized their sound wasn't progressing at all.
Puke Rock or die. \m/
whhhhat??? AHAHAHAHA
i never knew there's a even a subgenre called Puke Rock
anf My Ticket Home's albums are it
New MTH is so much better imo. Love the old stuff, but new one is the shit :)
Yeah
Me the Horizon .. the only letter missing is B means bring..😁
Nahh i still like old my ticket home better
I could never get into the direction they ended up taking
I love how much passion they put into playing in this video clip
especially the drummer; he's going nuts
Been 3 years since I heard of this song, brings back a lot of memories, definitely will continue listening to them ❤

1:38 Holy Beartooth! Now I see why Caleb jammed with them
didn't the singer sing on the second attack attack album?
Know what I love about this band? They can play and scream and sing with the same intensity and skill as they do live.
These guys are insane live! I saw them on Sunday and I can say the fact that they were literally swinging from the ceiling was insane hahaha
Have you heard their new stuff? These guys are gonna go far. Nick sounds like a young Corey Taylor.
3rd Decibel Yeah it they make another album sometime soon
They're so amazing live! I actually thought, as I was walking into the venue Tuesday night, "wow, who's playing the old school grungy metal?" only to realize it's a band preforming. I was in awe as I waited in line to get Nothing More merch.

in some shots the vocalist looks like scott pelgrim :D
real good band, just discoverd them
Do yourself a favor and not listen to any of their new stuff. It's shit.
Don't listen to this guy, their new stuff is amazing. All of MTH is amazing
Their new stuff is amazing
The newer stuff is so much better
Drummer has amazing energy and enthusiasm, love it.
This band needs more support. One of the few true to heart bands left in the world
#Nostalgia
The lead singer looks like Dennis Reynolds lol
Jabroni
OH SHIT
Because of the IMPLICATION.
Even after all these years that breakdown still gets me pumped af!
I love how all of the Rise Records music videos are of them jamming out in random locations :P i love wathcin my favorite bands just jam out super hard
The set is the album cover of his last walk
Jesse Bartlett it does look like it but look at the time gap? Random or intentional lol
Estevan Nunez oh mY GOD
Estevan Nunez YOU'RE RIGHT
You're goddamn right
2018
Kool I'm seeing these guys today in San Antonio ill be sure to record and share this awesomeness.....

TweaQAU thats not true hahaha
agreed

no hate but breakdowns live are unreal
new stuff is great but this is wayyy better.
Emo
Gaycore
Ha!! GAY. New stuff is where its at
Nu-Metal > Metalcore
They Have Changed So Much!!! For the win!!!
Soooooooo good. The clean vocal is awesome, and the drummer is pretty good too.
this song>their whole new album....why ya gotta change? :'(
They obviously changed for the better. This is what almost every metal core band sounds like, it's repetitive.
*****
well they made it sound sick and heavy...actually these guys and mmf have the heaviest breakdowns on my ipod right now...you know before the new album
Joshy Core The heaviest breakdowns......? You really should expand your musical taste... these breakdowns aren't heavy at all. haha.
Arcanine Interviews
well people say death metal is heavier and stuff like that...im not into that and i just dont think they sound heavy
*****
i totally agree that their new album is good, although i prefer the last more , but i thought the main reason why they changed it up like that was because they lost their drummer, bassist, and guitarist(who is with Beartooth now i believe)...but sorry if i offended anybody :/
im glad you guys changed your musical direction! this is ok but hot soap and keep alone are sick!
I never knew they can get this much better... Holy crap...
New obsession. Seriously can't get enough of these guys, the cleans are so fucking awesome
the new stuff is waaaaaaaaaaaaayy much Better than this, Although i liked this album, i think the new one is much better, reviving the Nu-Metal, which is one of favourite genre :D
THEY AREN'T NU METAL, THEY'RE HARDCORE
They Became Nu Metal ... they were hardcore ^^
Nope, they were metalcore, they became hardcore.

as you wish x)

sick song, and i think that the girls complaining about new stuff never heard of nu metal lml, gtfo teenagers
I'm a teenager and I love metal xD. And trust me I'm not sating I like metal because I heard 2 or 3 songs xD I'm a real hardcore metal fan. \m/
100% backing this statement.
el oh el.....
L O L this is N O T nu metal. This is post hardcore man...
So i just found out about like 8 new bands because of riserecords and have been impressed by everyone....so i clicked on these guys. havent watched the video yet but i can already tell this is going to be brutal because of the EXTREME four count at the beginning...he almost broke a stick
So glad to have found these guys. the clean singer is amazing
2012, the year post-hardcore and metalcore became too chugga chugga and became pretty boring. This is a great example.

Rise Records, you have found yet another amazing band.
i like how it starts out it really knocks you out of your seat.

New album is way better!! this is just generic metalcore
You guys killed it last night!
just got home from seeing them, great live!
ilovelovelovelovelovelovelove you guys. i went to your concert last night:3
got to open for them last night in New Jersey and hang out with them all. they are all so cool
Almost 2023 and I keep getting back to this band. First EP and LP were masterpieces, well still are and always be, what a times to grow up.
wow... just... wow... this is incredible compared to what i was expecting!
Just got back from a concert. I really only went for Crown the Empire, but this band really left an impression on me. More so than Like Moths to Flames.
i've met a couple of these guys. their music is insanely good, and they're fucking awesome.
man, this song has everything. these guy will go FAR!!!!!!!!!!
The cleans are what make the song even better :D
MTH is soo damn good, I wish they were as big as other bands on this label, they deserve it
Saw them live he screamed in my face it was awesome!! this band is great :]
This song never gets old I love it!!
you guys were great live the other week.. thanks for the speech (:
Is fluffing beautiful.
clean vocals are awesome!
Man, I would become a drummer to play this song. The drummer looks like he's having the time of his life!
Such an amazing song. You can easily tell how much emotion is put into this song and video. My Ticket Home NEVER fails to amaze me. They have such a huge influence on us, Music and Stage Presence-wise. We will always be fans! And maybe you guys will be fans of ours?
dude, i love this.
I just found you guys playing at a concert I'm hoping to see. You're amazing!
They won't be playing anything like this though ://
Just because every band on Rise knows how to right amazing lyrics and sing like gods, doesn't make them all the 'same.'
Such a powerful and heavy song, My Ticket Home is awesome
Love this song mainly for the chorus :3 really powerful lyrics
BRUTAL. Cheers from Spain
MAN THIS SONG ROCKS!! Dark Days too!
Amazing guys!
if you guys go to see these guys on the rise freshman tour or w.e chill with these guys, coolest dudes in the world I promise.
It's about time another great band came out.
First song to ever listen from them. They are pretty good. I like.
That drummer doesn't look like he could spell Hardcore. But Man, he owned it.
So excited to see them in 4 days
Saw these guys last night in Greensboro NC. they kicked ass
Damn, that drummer is really going to town on those things.
That riff though. Woo.
Metal and rock were HUGE in the 70s. Has anyone else noticed we're coming full circle? Especially with styles and trends. It's time for rock and metal to come back! Metal heads unite!
I love the cleans. Not too whiny, like most rise bands. Just perfect.
Their album surprised the hell out of me.
"The Truth Changes is we Both Lie" = Best song on album.
These guys are really good.
This band looks like they have so much when they play. It's good to see a band that plays for the joy of music! You guys rock! and so do Attack Attack, and Asking Alexandria! :p
when you listen to those guitars you feel like the master of the earth who wants to conquer and be the best god on the planet
he hung upside down for us too
And MMF and HLH have amazing clean singers. You really can't compare anything to them and have it come out on top.
