Mixed methods systematic reviews have become increasingly popular to clinicians, researchers and policy makers as they provide an innovative approach for addressing important questions in healthcare.
The JBI approach to integrating quantitative and qualitative evidence in systematic reviews draws upon the strengths of both quantitative and qualitative studies and overcomes the issues associated with independent synthesis of one type of evidence alone.
