Nice purchase. Looking forward to the progress. Are such Thai shop houses typically constructed of steel reinforced and plastered concrete rather than wood framing?
Thank you for your comment and question. Typically they are concrete with steel reinforcement. They built them pretty strong in the olden days! However, if one was built near water, on a reclsimed land on an old swamp or on poor foundation... then over time it is the elements that win that fight!
Seeing you explianing the process of your shophouse renovation project, get me excited....can't wait to see the actual progress and updates, keep us posted, mate, good efforts by the way 👍👍👍😄
Hi Luke, I'm also strongly interested in the "how to find appropriate houses, how to buy (I am aware that this is only possible by my Thai wife 🙂), how to find an architect/builder" stuff May I ask you what your planned budget for this transformation is?
Great idea! Thank for the suggestion - I wasn't sure if anyone would be interest in this... but if there's a need I can make a future video about this. (this video was more focussed on the design ideas and not really a "how to" nor a "Thai property laws" guide).
Thumbs up for the video 👍
Double thumbs up for the Dinosaur Jr Tshirt 👍 👍

15:40 ....seems your family...well done...
You are right!
Add a door from the ground floor to the second floor so kitchen smells dont go to the upper floors.
excellent idea!
what area did you buy in and how much did you buy it for? also, do you have any issues with parking?

Thanks for the encouragement. I will in the future explain in a video to tips on finding properties, contractors in Thailand and budgeting.
It would be great if you explained to your viewers how 'I' managed to purchase property in Thailand.

just wanted to thank you for showing that Thailand is more than just bars and hookers like 90% of the other videos present.
Ha ha! Oh yes! There is so much more to this wonderful country.

Going slow... but great! I'll share some updates soon.
