Luffy figured a way to take down Crocodile without Haki. He figured a way to match the rokushiki techniques. He figured out exactly how Katakuri's abilities actually worked and learned it mid battle. He figured out exactly how Kaido was using conquerors Haki and used his knowledge of Ryou to replicate it.
Not to mention all the weird ways he learned to use his rubber abilities in combat.
I think you were sleeping on his battle IQ a little too much. The solutions he comes up with are weird but they are effective
Edit: because you guys are practically forcing me to say this. This comment isn't comparing Luffy to Naruto. I do believe Naruto has a higher battle IQ than Luffy. However I just feel like this video slept on Luffy's own battle IQ a little. Luffy has really good battle IQ. It may not be as good as what Naruto has shown but it's still really good in my opinion.

@@noudont5963 This has nothing to do with how powerful Katakuri or any of Luffy's opponents are. I'm just talking about the fact that Luffy learns and figures a way around tricky opponents.
And regarding Katakuri, he himself stated that he was having a hard time keeping Luffy down (even without the wound). And the wound only came because someone else interfered in the fight and hit Luffy with a chemical that dulled his senses (which you're conveniently ignoring). I could easily make an argument that Luffy would have been fighting better without that. And Katakuri could have actually remained standing at the end of the battle if he wanted to. Their fight wasn't really about strength
But like I said, that's not the point of the comment. It's not to state whether Luffy was stronger than Katakuri. It's just an example of his battle IQ. He's quite smart in combat
At the end of the day it is very hard to compare people from different verses, hacks that are dominant in their verse may not work in the verse they’re going up against.

I think that people are forgetting about naruto's shadow clones. They are around the same strength as him and are easy to make. He can sit at a distance to study luffy's moves and come up with a strategy to defeat luffy. And worst case he can stall luffy out with the clones and then beat him that way. Just a throwing a thought out there.
one of naruto's clones were somewhat able to react to kaguya who is leagues above juudara and what makes it even worse for luffy is that naruto as an adult can literally solo kaguya by himself in kcm2 (scaling with naruto and momoshiki and momoshiki implied to be stronger than kaguya through various statements and feats and power ups and naruto keeping relativity to momo). one of his clones now should just body luffy let alone the THOUSANDS he can make ☠

Something I realized was missed was that in gear 5 luffy legit regained his Haki extremely fast compared to in the past and I mean it was no longer than 5 seconds

Both of them is peak of anime legend. Their fan base is undebatable. I love both of them, but for me I have watched luffy first in 2003 as tv show and naruto in 2006.

I have to disagree on the durability portion. Naruto was not only able to tank an attack that sliced apart the hollow moon, but then blocked it when it was being concentrated right at him (so instead of his entire body taking the attack, a much smaller area is taking an equal amount of energy). That’s much stronger than G5 Luffy punching Kaido into a magma chamber underneath Wano. He also has a much better healing factor, being able to remake entire organs in a couple seconds when he was a kid without Six Paths Chakra or Hashirama Cells.
A really important thing to note (since you guys are equating Chakra and Haki) is that Naruto is basically immune to everything Gear 5 has to offer once he enters his KCM forms. Not only is it basically a suit of armor, but every chakra-based technique will ignore Luffy’s rubber qualities (meaning anything not covered in Haki is getting ripped to shreds by a Rasenshuriken). He could dodge a single Rasenshuriken, but 2,000 clones firing off Magnet-Style Rasenshurikens will clip Luffy at least once (which is all that’s needed to seal his movements).
Some good points in this but I will say, in reference to the second paragraph, Luffy's rubber is a devil fruit ability which is completely separate from his haki

@@juniourdaquanyou kinda just proved their point since cracker needed haki. the thing about haki is that it can bypass devil fruits. rasenshuriken or any other rasengan doesn't have that same effect, and thats the key factor. it's not that crackers haki is strong enough to cut luffy, its more of the fact that haki in general gets a pass when talking about df users

Naruto in Sage Mode also doesn't have to hit direct attacks to inflict damage, as seen in early Naruto vs Pain. Also strength is debatable, but I wanna bring up that Baryon Mode Naruto boxed with Isshiki who broke the susanoo with ease. It is unclear how strong the susanoo is, but tsunade in her strongest form could only crack Madara's incomplete susunoo.
Is he firing blasts of air like goku in granola arc or something comparable to advanced armament

Naruto’s Magnet style sealing Rasengan is EASILY one of his most haxed and powerful abilities, he only uses it once 😭

If Luffy gets hit directly with it, he's getting sealed on the spot. Can only dodge it, not block.
Lava style Rasenshuriken is busted in AP as well. Think of Akainu + Rasenshuriken. Remember, lava, magnet are being added onto the Rasenshuriken. Wind + those.

Okay.
This is my attempt to clarify and determine some important issues when discussing the Naruto vs Luffy situation.
1. It is extremely important how we compare the powers in both series. For example, if Luffy was brought to the Naruto setting, would he have conqueror's haki? In the one piece series, the closest circumstance to luffy entering a different dimension was the mirror dimension, which was clearly created by a devil fruit and therefore effected by haki. Another important comparison is how they interact. Can luffy use armament haki to bypass chakra abilities? For example, could luffy kill the immortal Hidan with a solid strike of ryuo, or hurt naruto by striking a part of his giant kurama form. Its not particularly clear.
As such, we have to either compare abilities by their effects in their own series(not how they would influence each other), or make connections to each of these abilities so they translate into the other's series.
2. We must assume all effects, even ones that have not been shown an upper limit, have an upper limit. You could decide to not make that claim, but then a number of effects become really weird. This would very likely cause power stacking, which is generally a bad assumption to make in these sorts of debates. These effects that can be compared are usually combat/reaction speed, attack range, attack area, and destructive potential. Special effects like regeneration, very high stamina, durability, etc... can make a difference, but it has to be something that can be compare without making assumptions about the power of the ability. For example, if Naruto uses a rasengan, and an enemy tanks it with no damage, that doesn't mean that they can survive a bijuu bomb as well. The same is true vice versa, We need to know the max destructive potential of naruto's rasengan, and not use feats that are lower, because circumstances might influence the effect.
As such, it is generally best to compare what is shown in the series, what is stated by the characters/narrator, and what is stated in guidebooks, and try to get an estimate from multiple sources.
3. You cannot use real-world physics and scientific definitions to influence how these values are compared. For example, if both characters are faster than light speed, that doesn't mean they can move through time, or are unaffected by temporal abilities. You can't even say they are the same speed, because the speed of light could be different it each series. In addition, you can't be fooled by visuals that you are guessing are comparable to something you know. This is basically about due diligence. For example, Onigashima is much larger than people often guess. Queen in his dinosaur form is much taller than even Big Mom, who is canonically 29 feet tall; when Queen is making physical attacks, parts of Onigashima don't even notice it. In the same way, the part of the horn zoro cut off is roughly calculated to be 196m. That's about 2% the height of mount everest.
Onigashima is basically a small country by itself, maybe even the size of japan?
As such, you need to use pure number calculations even get close to comparing characters. You cannot use real world physics to try to argue infinite power, or faster than time, etc...
So, how do these characters compare?
Naruto can destroy mountains easily, whole mountain ranges, and blast a hole in the moon. He can move much faster than light(in the naruto universe), and can almost keep up with instant teleportation. Finally, he basically has infinite stamina, infinite chakra, and the ability to create a wide variety of elements, while controlling those elements and special forms of energy as well.
Luffy can destroy mountains easily, whole mountain ranges, and destroy small countries. He can move much faster than light(in the one piece world), and can see into the future. Finally, he basically has infinite stamina, can injure intangible or shapeshifting targets, and can influence himself and the world around him to have an effect similar to toon-force.
Conclusion; naruto is a little more powerful, luffy is a little faster. I think luffy's new toon abilities make him stronger than naruto's wide array of chakra attacks, but I could see an argument in the reverse as well. Maybe Baryon mode is enough power to make naruto defeat luffy with a serious strike. Maybe luffy's snake-man form will widen the speed gap too far for naruto to react.

The issue is that Naruto has never shown anything too impressive, bar a few examples like dodging one Lightspeed attack.
His biggest feats of physical strength are not more impressive than Luffy's, his hax is chakra specific, so it would do nothing outside of his verse (Haki has physical effects on anything so it can be applied to more cases), clones are counterproductive against a Conquerors user since they transfer mental strain and resistance wise it's a tossup.

@@twenk5212 show one example. Because like I said that is the reason why people don't really think highly of Naruto's power, the examples are "he is stronger than blank who is stronger than blank who is etc." While at no point we can see a clear example of his power.
Under that same logic I could say that Luffy has surpassed like 4 or 5 guys that were stronger and faster than him when he was several times FTL so at this point he must be hundreds of times FTL maybe thousands. Inferences don't amount to much when it comes to these types of discussions.

Also isshki makes kaguya look like light work and baryon mode destroyed isshki, naruto put and hole in the moon and created a huge as crater on earth, he has the sage of six paths which you guys brung up not at all, you guys did not even talk about truth seeking orbs and all this other stuff that he has. @@dontmindme55 Luffy dodging the lasers (multiple as they were 3) was done in base, no transformations, and it may have not even been done with observation Haki since Pacifista are Robots, hence Haki might not work on them.
Also Luffy was dodging lasers since before timeskip, he dodged the laser from the Pacifista on their first encounter and without knowledge of what the attack was.
So dodging lasers is not Luffy's top speed, not even close to it that is, like Luffy said "too slow".

Amazing video as always but anime Sunday was wylin when he said g4 snake man is pushing naruto 😂. Personally I say gear 5 luffy would still lose because of luffys stamina issue, if naruto lasts long enough g5 will run out because we seen in the manga that luffy needed a break pretty quickly after using gear 5 and who’s to say luffy will get his hands on naruto, because naruto is quick, it’s not like kaido who was a huge target, but that’s just my opinion, great video ❤

I think one of the problems is what Naruto are you using. If you are using Adult Naruto you have to talk about a lot more stuff. Despite how bad Boruto has made Naruto look at times he is way stronger then what he was during the war. The last movie in itself is a big jump. Naruto fighting jigen and momo is him strictly stuck to physical attacks for the most part. Jigen was significantly stronger than Naruto so he gonna give him the work. Just like if luffy had limited haki use and no devil fruit use kaido is going to work him. People forget that Adult Naruto is stronger and then go on to use his shippuden power as his level. It's like taking Ichigo at start of tybw and the end of it thinking they the same.

For abilities Naruto has rasengan/all forms of it. Sage Mode and pre cog, clones that can be strong. Can hit someone without touching them in SM with frog kata. Summonings. Great Healing. Kuruma avatar. Healing. Baryon mode which takes Life Force. Sealings. Acid. Boil.

A Bijuu bomb is not the same as a blast breath even the weight of a Bijuu bomb is crazy. His Rasenshuriken in Kuruma avatar since it bypasses durability is just gonna cut Luffys hand off. We ain’t ever seen Luffy tank a Bijuu bomb if he gets hit by it that’d serious damage then he can enlarge the Bijuu bombs even further. If Naruto gets hit with Luffys giant haki fist.
He’s not just gonna stand there but even then with Naruto’s durability and crazy healing factor it’s not gonna affect Naruto as much as it will for Luffy. Even the time when he was drained of 60% chakra he tanked Momoshikis gentle fist which is dura negg. Then played around with Momo (all this while drained) and let his son finish the job. As a kid even tanked Nejis dura negg and survived.

With the battle wether they in base or strongest form Naruto takes it. At best he needs Sage Mode maybe Kcm. Current base Naruto bullies his younger versions. His lava style Rasenshuriken is tearing Luffy up. With Lava/magma being the strongest offensive Df. How it gave Luffy a scar, how he got burned with Kaidos ast breath.
The Rasenshuriken already bypasses durability then add Lava on top of that Luffy is going to be critically injured. With Jigen and Isshiki. He far outclassed Naruto and Sasuke while also nerfing their power. Luffy isn’t on that level. In this fight Luffy won’t be fighting just 1 Naruto but multiple and not the normal clones I’m talking the ones that can take and do a lot of damage. He can tire out Luffy with the clones while getting intel at the same time.
There’s nothing Luffy has to really damage Naruto as he’s tanked dura negg from people like Neji, Truth Seeking Orbs, his own bijuu bomb, Momoshiki, Toneri. He was tanking punishment from Jigen, getting impaled, beat up, and still kept on fighting and Jigen is stronger than Both Naruto and Sasuke combined some Luffy simply cannot do. With the battle of attrition cause Naruto is winning that. He can let a clone fight Luffy, then chill while Luffy runs out stamina using his gears then Naruto goes in for a final blow.
Since we talking about overwhelmed. Crocodile cooked Luffy but lost. Magellan cooked Luffy. Doflamingo was cooking him but lost. Against Katakuri Luffy was running away for hours. Getting absolutely outdone by Kat. Kat even impaled himself just to give Luffy a better chance. At the end Katakuri could’ve finished Luffy but outta respect and cause he wanted Big Mom to be defeated he let him go.
Then a lil later that day Luffy got 1 tapped by Big Mom. Kaido 1 tapped Luffy twice. Overwhelmed Luffy the 3rd time and after holding up an island fighting Kid, Law, Zoro, the Scabbards, Yamato, etc Luffy learns a new haki and gets gear 5th and still Narrowly beats Kaido. I can’t remember a time Naruto got 1 tapped. Let’s not talk about overwhelmed when it comes to Luffy cause.
The fight-
By the time Luffy gets to hear 4th, Naruto will still be in base. Around gear 5th is when Naruto turns it up to Sage Mode or maybe Kcm. With sealing the times he needed to do it his enemies far outclassed him which is something Luffy isn’t gonna be doing. Tsos really gonna be doing damage to Luffy.
When Luffys fights he relies on others wether it be water against croc, his rubber against Enel, Everybody and they momma during Marine ford, law and them with Doffy, Brulee against Katakuri, Zoro, the scabbards, momonosuke, Law, Kidd, Yamato, etc against Kaido. In fights Naruto normally fights in base if the battle gets tough or if there’s and impending danger and he needs to save someone then he switches to Sage Mode or Kcm. At best Kcm mainly Sage mode but maybe Kcm. Naruto beats Gear 5 Luffy

If you haven't seen One Piece then i will try to explain most of luffy's abilities.
For haki we have armament (durability and strength increase and negates devil fruit abilities),advanced armament which makes it so you can attack ennemies without touching them and being able to destroy them from the inside (durability negation) and an invisible armor type of defense which can only be broken if the user of the attack you try to tank has better haki, observation haki which boosts your reaction speed and reflexes,advanced observation with boosts reaction speed even further and makes it so you can see into the future (doesn't really have a cooldown since we see katakuri using it to evade every single hit of luffy's Gatling attack) and then we have conqueror's which depending on the user's willpower can make people flinch to knock the opponent out (would be useful again naruto's clone) and then we have advanced conqueror's which make you able to infuse conqueror's into your attacks on top of ryou with is just an insane buff in terms of durability and strength.
For devil fruit awakening he can:
Turn the opponent and the environment around him into rubber (haki can't negate this from what we can see)
Shapeshifting which is pretty much only limited to luffy's imagination
Insane durability and strength buff.

Durability could go either way cuz Naruto is also an uzumaki and through out the series has sustained crazy amounts of damage. Plus he can regenerate which could potentially trump Luffy's insane durability. And that doesn't even take into account the strength of opponents like 10 tails madara, a dude who tanked an attack from the 8 gates, an sattack which is way stronger than any of luffy's moves.

I first want to say that the way this conversation was handled was beautiful. There are a lot of aspects to consider when talking about characters as versatile and varied as Luffy and Naruto. And, I think you covered a lot of the things that make this fight a debate in the first place. Personally I think it’s currently Naruto for a few reasons. 1. Naruto can communicate with Kurama, making the fight, at least in the realm of strategy, a 2v1 fight. We have also seen that Kurama is a very analytic guy. 2. Naruto has the ability to stall the fight with his shadow clones. He is capable of saving his own stamina by summoning shadow clones in waves and having them slowly pick at Luffy’s defenses. Additionally, Naruto can have clones off to the side building up his sage mode and potentially giving him further boosts throughout the fight. Luffy is very much fighting a one man army. Not to include Naruto’s summoning jutsu, and reverse summoning jutsu, or Grandpa Frog’s wisdom as well.
While all that is a factor, I do think that this fight is obscenely close. I think Luffy will grow exponentially stronger than he currently is, and at that time the discussions may move from him and Naruto to him and Boruto.

I feel like even if most power systems are similar, chakra in Naruto is very different. Chakra flows through specific vessels in the body that only people in the Naruto verse have. I think that chakra is among some of the power systems that are different enough that they shouldn't be equalized. I don't like the concept in the first place but I will try not to get more picky. And because the power for chakra dwells within the physical body, it's a big disadvantage versus other verses.

Rob being the voice of reason, I respect it. Some really good points were made but I’m saying Naruto wins and It’s not even close. He scales way higher in terms of AP, Dura, Speed, BIQ, IQ, Stamina, to say luffy even has a chance of winning against naruto is stretching it. I don't think that luffy would be able to completely incapacitate naruto before he runs out of stamina
Honestly I believe the fight could either way. Naruto has a ton of stamina, Massive AP, Battle skill, move set, and hacks that can oppose luffy as well as a plethora of forms except Baryon mode as we know Naruto will be out in just 5 minutes if he uses too much chakra in that form which is a dead weight. But luffy has an overwhelming amount of physical strength and haki buffs to said physical strength from which we know in even the boruto series can absolutely wash Naruto if you have enough hand to hand combat skill and strength (ask jigen), on top of that luffy can turn any matter or energy into rubber which would counter or bounce back a good 80% of Narutos skill set, and luffy can even see every action Naruto may do beforehand with future sight though gear 5 can only be used about twice in the fight until luffy gives out. So the battle really comes down to either luffy giving Naruto the hands at that start to lay him out or Naruto out lasting luffy and destroying him with a Bijuu bomb or rasenshuriken.
All Naruto has to do is make 100 clones with rasenshuriken and Luffy is done for

I think ehen using the Katakuri fight as a base for Luffy’s durability, you would also have to compare Naruto to Katakuri, because yes Luffy did hang on during the whole fight, even if barely, but Katakuri was most likely at the roof of luffy’s power at that time. I think If you replaced Katakuri with Naruto, Naruto would be doing more damage than Katakuri per hit, and Luffy would lose. If both started at max form I do agree Luffy could win, I mean its like having a boxer fight an acrobatic magician, sure the boxer should win in every regard, but the magician can just pulll out a new trick and wins anyway.

Naruto has reality manipulation feats as well in the war. The creation of all things which was how he was able to give kakashi a new eye and bring guy back to life. It’s stated that this ability is like the mother of izanagi which alters reality limited to your imagination. So I think his reality manipulation is better than Luffys overall

Fun little feat for naruto is in kcm1 he dodged the raikages lariat which was stated to be a near light speed attack, this is actually accurate because haku could move at light speeds in the ice mirrors and sasuke could track her with 2 tomoe eyes 😂. Also sasuke could react to the raikages attacks showing his reaction speeds with ems is atleast relative to light speed or light speeds.
Haku was never light speed. That is not supported by anything in the manga. The Raikage is the fastest character at near light speeds until KCM 1 naruto. So KCM naruto is light speed. Upwards with KCM 2 and finaly 6 path sage mode naruto was well above light speed.
Luffy was bearly light speed pre time skip and then after time skip he dodged 3 light beams in base form. So naruto is only ftl speed at his strogest form while Luffy was allready ftl in base. Then gear 2nd is a 10x multiplier and gear 4 is a 3x muptiplier on top of gear second. Not to mention future sight and his wano power ups. Luffy is massivly faster than naruto.

Naruto has instant regen to deal with ryou, is strong willed so conq haki not doing nun, has experience fighting sharingan users so observation isn’t a big deal for him either, naruto literally counters all Luffys forms of haki plus he has duraneg abilities like the tso, frog strike which is a taijutsu stated to attack internally like ryou does, rasenshuriken which attacks at the cellular level in base and goes even further in sage mode, kcm and six paths, can amp his jutsu with senjutsu which is only weak to other senjutsu attacks not to mention he has the creation of all things ability in the war which is reality manipulation so he can undo whatever Luffy turns to rubber. Idc how long you been saying it, Luffys not seeing Naruto yet.

When he had the sun seal, he was given the creation of all things technique which is how he gave kakashi a new eye and brought guy back to life. This ability is stated to be limited by your imagination and is where izanagi derived from. So whatever rubber hax Luffy tries whether it be turn naruto or his abilities into rubber, he can undo it with that ability.

Naruto has gone up against mascara which was large planetary, and then in baryon mode up against ppl who were 100 if not 1000 times stronger than madara. While luffy isn't even planetary yet. And people are still saying kizaru who is only light speed, is top tier and luffy would have trouble with him. While naruto surpassed light speed years ago.

I'm just going to say this, you guys overlooked one major durability stat for Naruto and that's when he literally tanked a moon splitting attack with little to no damage and continued fighting only to win the fight afterwards

@ItsLateOutside things happening don’t always have to be used heavily. That’s why plot induced stupidity or PIS exists in power scaling.
If something is one off, contradicts the story, and is never seen again then I can easily write it off and counter it with the other more consistent scaling.
And besides, that’s not just any ordinary sword, that’s sasuke’s sword. This one horribly written scene can still be justified within the context of the scene like naruto being off guard and the sword being powered by sasuke’s chakra

Now Luffy is advancing his Armament Haki and Ryou, now Haki wouldn't affect him. You need to have master Haki and there'll be a slight chance Luffy get's Hurt
