Danzatori dell'Atelier da la Danse Populaire Video registrato in Italia Cristina Colombo - Aldo Ferrari - Anne Raviart - Antonio Marchese - Valentina Colombo - Mauro Coffetti
thank you, your words make us happy and make us proud of the work and study done over the many years of dance. I hope that our videos can be a stimulus for young people who are approaching English Country Dance.
It is a beautiful compliment. We have been working on dance for many years with the ADP association "Atelier de la Dance Populaire" in Paris and these words of yours make us very happy.
È meraviglioso trovare questo video su internet. Grazzie mille. Quelle élégance ! Quelle qualité de danse, de musique et bravo pour la prise de vue. Bellissimi !
I've looked at quite a few videos of Upon a Summer's Day and this is my favourite, despite the dull room. Some others have fine (or at least interesting) costumes or lovely settings, but this one has both an excellent performance of the music and lively, flowing, accurate dancing. The tempo is very much to my liking. This makes me want to dance.
I am very pleased that you enjoyed our dance, despite the room. I wanted to know if you had also saw the other videos I putted in you tube and what do you think about them. If you want to dance, we are waiting for you. For this event we will look for a more elegant room.
@@aldoferrari4579 Jack's Health is also very good, but Upon a Summer's Day is my favourite. With such splendid people I would be prepared to dance outdoors when it's snowing, but if we could use one of your magnificent palazzi, that would be all the better.
The simplicity of the room and the dancer's clothing makes this dance easier to appreciate and learn from. There are very few distractions from the figures, the footwork, and the timing. Thank you!
Aldo this is wonderful example of English country dancing to John Playfords music. Excellent foot work made to look so natural and flowing, who are the dance group Italian or French very impressive.
I know this tune as "the Lark in the morning" "The lark in the morning, she rises from her nest She goes home in the evening with the dew all on her breast And like the jolly ploughboy she whistles and she sings She goes home in the evening with the dew all on her wings"
English country dance originated in the British Isles; it is the repeated execution of a predefined sequence of figures, carefully designed to fit a fixed length of music, performed by a group of people, usually in couples, in one or more sets... Upon a summer's day, choreography published in the first Edition of English Dancing Master, 1651, John Playford
We know very well the “Indian Queen” dance we have danced it several times but unfortunately we don't have a video. I promise you that as soon as we can go back to dance we will do one.
@@aldoferrari4579 Thanks Aldo...I photograph our group over the last 10 years. I am compiling a slide show to show our story in photos mainly of all the many, many times we have danced together....I appreciate the MOVEMENT too though as well as the fun, love and focus needed to dance well...Also to record the dancing clearly. I saw an iceskating event yesterday...truely mind-blowing...yet we often forget the photographer dont we as we watch something very very good...ruclips.net/video/qqIH9ez7d9A/видео.html
If a tall person is going under an arch made by shorter people it looks and feels much better to bend your knees rather than duck your head. The timing needs to be precise: the leading couple have to be out of the way before the arches can move up or it can easily look a mess. Four beats for the ones to lead down and through the arches; four beats for the ones to cast to the bottom while the others do two chassés up. I might count it out as: “Lead and under and slide and slide”. I've been a dancer for 27 years.
I absolutely love this recording of this dance! Whenever I want to teach it, I come back here and review it before I talk in front of people.

This is hands down the best performance of this dance I have ever seen.
This is totally charming! The music is a relaxed pace and the dancers are effortlessly graceful. Well done
The lady with the short grey hair reminds me of an elegant cat when she dances. It’s very enchanting.
Well done to the dancers who are DANCING and not tramping in the style of many other group on you tube

So well done, charming tune!🌹🌹🌹

félicitations aux danseurs et au chorégraphe d'avoir modernisé ces danses
Thank you for helping me learn the dance. I had not previously learnt it before lockdown and managed to learn it based off of your performance.
Pure merveille!
Merci, il est très gentil. Le plus beau commentaire que nous puissions recevoir! Grazie mille.
I love this song.
Well done
Sweet..🥰

"The lark in the morning, she rises from her nest

Ce sont deux airs totalement différents.
@@MireilleHAQUET They are variants of a common root.
Beautifully done with simplicity, poise and grace. However did "civilisation" descend to green hair, tattoos and facial piercings?
This looks like such fun. I need to find a group in Sydney who could do this with me when stupid COVID is over!
Any tips on where to find the music?
Australia's Sydney English Country Dance group would be glad to welcome you.
@@margaretswait8422 , we're coming to Australia, Sydney, Melbourne, etc this coming winter. We'd love to dance with your group.
Great
Very charmant Ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!

We finally managed to film the dance you asked to see. Unfortunately it's been a long time, I hope this can please you, with love. Aldo
Make the arches taller! If you can't get under them, bend the knees rather than bow your head. It looks much better.
thanks for your advice but i think it's really embarrassing and not very elegante to bend knees while dancing.

They do a stunning job though.
